Florida school board member wants to formalize teacher exit interviews

A recent I-team investigation is now prompting one Florida school board member to speak up and act. During a Sarasota County school board meeting Tuesday evening, member Tom Edwards asked for the district to begin conducting exit interviews with teachers who leave the district. Edwards told us he was inspired after seeing our investigation last week where we obtained hundreds of teacher exit surveys from other districts to reveal the “brutal” truth behind why so many Florida teachers keep leaving.

Exit interview: we want it to be nicey nice and you too so they can use it when you later feel safe= you can tell the truth for safety reasons.

Is this guy so naive that he thinks he's going to get the unvarnished truth in exit interviews?
He may get that from teachers who are retiring and don't expect to ever need to get a reference from them.
I worked for companies that have done exit interviews. And my goal was to play nice, so I don't have to worry about having a bad referral because someone's feelings got hurt or some other bs.
Be honest. If you're working for a place that's got shite management, do you think you're going tell the shite management that they're shite? Not if you need the references.

So, the best time to figure out what's going on is to ask someone who has no attachment and is probably completely jaded. Maybe, the question should have been asked well before that time. But I'm not a high flying executive, so what would I know.
