I don't have an issue with buying Chinese boots or more affordable options-in fact, my Grant Stones are among my favorite boots. But when you get to a certain price point, like the $500 range for these Luosjiet boots, you're paying for a mix of four factors: 1) product material quality, 2) craftsmanship, 3) design, and 4) brand reputation or status.
For $500, these boots do well with material quality, and they excel in craftsmanship and design. However, Luosjiet just doesn't measure up in terms of brand reputation. At this price, I want the whole package, including a reputable name that reflects a certain status or legacy-like why car companies create prestige brands, such as Toyota with Lexus. I’d consider their $200 boots without hesitation, but for $500, I'd expect the brand to carry some weight. Beautiful boots, but I wouldn’t pay that price. Personally, I'd go Truman or pre-owned Vibergs, or save a few bucks and go GS or Parkhurst.

Wow great breakdown, you make some really good points! Personally for me I was able to forgo point 4 for a boot I just loved the design of for example I recently got a pair of Alden Indy boots knowing that point 1 isn’t all there but I love the style and it makes up for it.

Like alot of other posters below, i do agree these are worth the money. The stitching is up there with some of the best Indonesian and Japanese MTO bootmakers. I dont think we can fault the thick leather either. But in this make up it just doesnt scream $500. Wedge soles just give that thorogood, workwear vibe.
If this was a veg-tan leather from a noteable tannery, on a branded dainate or ridgeway sole... I'd say people would perceive this more favorably.

Great looking boot! It’s to similar to my Truman Wooly Bully for me to purchase though.

Im not knocking those boots or their quality , but $500 idk. Grant stone costs less and looks about the same quality. Heck you can even get three Urban wolf club boots you recently reviewed and it would still be cheaper!

When you did the unboxing I had sticker shock when you said they were $500. After this video I understand why you think they are worth it.

White wedge soles makes boots look like tennis shoes. Also, why are the wedges always white. Why not brown or any other color that goes with the leather.

Good question. Not really sure why

Wedge soles come in different colors. A cobbler can install colors for you.

$500 dollars can buy a lot of things. This boot is not going to be my first choice, if I'm spending $500 on a shoe. So many other options out there. Not to mention that you can get a good boot for less than $500.

500 bucks is pushing it...I mean you are into PNW boot territory for a few bucks more...or there is the Drews Contractor boot for less money...

I will never buy that boot for $500. I don't have $500. I have to choose feeding my kids, over $500 boots. $500 is a lot of groceries. There are a lot of shoe options at $500. I'm not sold on this, versus every other boot in the world.

@user-qc6dx6iu3f Then what are you doing on a channel like this? Go with Jim Green. Best boots for the money, even according to every boot channel.
