I have a large boot collection with Red Wing, Nicks, Truman, Whites, Viberg and other brands. I think the Viberg's have the best cuts of CXL and the best attention to detail. All of mine are on the 2030 last. My first pair was the original narrower toe service boots. Went down a .5 to 11.5D which fit well. 2nd pair was the modern 2030 last cap toe in 11.5D which was a little too long. Donated those and bought 2 more pairs in an 11D that fit well. Out of all my service boot makers, I actually like the White's MP boots the most. Also had to go down a full size in the MP boots. They are more of a rugged looking boot while the Viberg boots are almost too nice to beat up......lol
@@BabblingBootsReviews I am gunning to buy a Iron ranger. but wanting only to get one boot. Is better to directly get the vibergs instead of the red wings?
@@PyroClit If price isn't a concern for you then Vibergs are probably the better option because they are much more versatile. You can wear them casually as a work boot or clean them up and wear them more formally. Iron Rangers are great for the price but they can really only ever be worn very casually. If you are only wanting to get 1 boot all-around boot then I would say Viberg.
Sizing is the same I believe but the 1035 is a bit more anatomical to the shape of a human foot, whereas the 2030 last is more symmetrical with its almond shaped toe. A lot of people who find the 2030 last uncomfortable actually find the 1035 last to be a better fit since it has the more natural curves of a human foot.
Great video. Two weeks ago I pre-ordered my first pair of Vibergs through Brooklyn Clothing in the chrome excel brown exactly what you have. Why because the brown is very versitle and when it comes to chrome excels I prefer having a cap toe even if it is a plain cap toe and not a real cap toe for aesthetic reasons. So that's why I preordered them through Brooklyn. I live near a Brooklyn Clothing store where I could try on different sizes to see what fits
Great video again! I’ve owned 2 pairs of vibergs in the 2030 and 1035 lasts. I moved them on but would like to try the 2040 last if I find the right deal. I won’t pay full retail for them.
Thanks so much for the continued support. I really appreciate it! I've mostly been looking on Grailed and Ebay recently for used Vibergs that interest me. Haven't seen any boots on their site in the last couple of years that are tempting enough to warrant paying full price for either.
Great videos man! How am I seeing Viberg boots for 519 CAD on brooklyn's site? That seems crazy low. It says they're core 2.0, do you know what model those are?
Yeah be careful with that Brooklyn 2.0 model. What they are actually doing right now is advertising a 50% down deposit as the purchase price. Once the boots are ready to ship, you pay the other 519 CAD. A bit suspect to be honest. I saw the same thing last week and wondered what was going on until I did a little more digging.
Appreciate the feedback! I actually have a Grantstone boot review coming up this weekend! And my wife just bought me a pair of Trumans so I'll be reviewing those coming up soon as well. Stay tuned!
If I could do it all over again. I'd just start with Viberg. After trying so many other brands these are my favorite. Yea they are pricey but they fit so well on me and their last shape is the best in my opinion. I do favor the 2040 over the 2030 but that's because those even fit better on me. If could just have like 5 Vibergs I would call it a lifetime and be done with boots. Peace ✌️
Yeah I agree. If you've already done research and know you want a pair of Vibergs, there really isn't a point in working your way through other boots first. At some point you will buy them, it's just a question of 'when' not 'if'. I would have actually saved money in the long run if I bought my Vibergs first because I wouldn't have spent so much money on other boots that I don't like as much haha.
@BabblingBootsReviews me too! It was a lot, and i mean a lot of trial and error. I've settled with Viberg and Truman. Both for fit, quality & looks. No trying to dis the other brands, it's just that these two check all my boxes. Great review. You got an IG? There's tons of boot stuff on there.
@@liljuanito123 I actually just ordered a pair of Trumans this week so I'm excited to see how they stack up against Viberg! I do have an IG: instagram.com/babblingboots Not much content on it right now since I'm more focused on RUclips, but I do use IG to search for pics of boots I'm looking to buy.
@aQueDog the waist and heel are more narrower on 2040. The instep is a bit lower as well plus it's got that rounder bump toe. To me, it just locks in my feet better.
Yeah they do look similar to the 1035 last but they are just the newer style of the 2030 last which has a slightly rounder, less almond-shaped, toe. I definitely prefer the older 2030 with the sleeker toe box.
I think overall for me, the Viberg 2030 last is more forgiving in the toebox and also more secure in the heel. My toes feel a bit too snug in the leo last and my heel also tends to slip more. I did a more thorough breakdown of the differences in my Grant Stone video if you want to check that out. Hopefully it provides some insight haha
@@BabblingBootsReviews that’s incredibly helpful, thank you. I’ll definitely take a look at that GS video. You’re generous with your replies, I appreciate it. Thanks again.
@@BabblingBootsReviews I do! Because of my goot shape, the unstructured toe is unflattering and uncomfortable. With a little bit of structure, these hit that middle ground.
Great review thanks for sharing. So your Viberg are one full-size down from your White’s? I’m also a c width and are worried Viberg e width would be too wide.
So my ideal fit for Viberg on the 2030 last is the 7.5E. My brannock size is an 8.5C, which means my Viberg is one full size down from my brannock. My Whites are 8C so my Viberg fit is one-half size down from that. Hopefully that’s not too confusing haha. Viberg: 7.5D, Whites: 8C, Brannock: 8.5C.
Yeah they are definitely expensive. My Vibergs are in the $900 CAD range. I'd have a hard time convincing myself to spend much more than that honestly. Nicks probably makes the toughest/ most rugged boots on the market. if I needed boots for work then I would definitely lean more in that direction.
In Canada, Nicks end up being as expensive as Vibergs. So this price comparison changes quite a lot depending on where you live. Nicks don't have anywhere near the same style or polish (perfect build quality) and are outrageously over built for everyday street wear. Simply put, even when you choose a less beefy boot from Nicks (like a Falcon), a comparison with something like a 2030 is like apples and oranges. I have a 19 year old pair of Viberg work boots and they only look a year old. As spectacular as they are, I'd buy a pair of Nicks work boots next. I also own a pair of Viberg 2030s in Horween Saddle tan Chromepak. There is nothing that Nicks makes that even compares to these. Cheers!
@@EdAb That's really interesting. I didn't know that about Nick's prices. The refined look of Viberg boots is definitely the biggest selling point for me as well. Although Nick's can get close to that level when they really try. Have you seen the limited edition LL64 they ran recently? Google it if you haven't. It's a nice looking boot.
Why would you hike in $900 not hiking boots? Are you going swim in them too? These prices just CRAZY. I guess there is a lot of people who don't know what to do with their money.
