  • Sooooo, hello my Friends!!!
It's been 6 months since i upload my last video.
I didn't expect that my break in planemaking will be so long.
At this moment finally i can say - yes, i'm back!
In today's episode i'm gonna make something special - classic strike block plane with intermittent boxing. The plane is purposed to work on the engrain surface. As you know endgrain surface of the wood is the most durable for friction, so the sole of wooden plane can be damage quickly. Because of that i'm gonna use small pieces of boxwood, and glue them into the sole of the plane. Notice the grain direction of the boxing, they will be perpendicular to the sole, that detail will keep durable of the sole for years of using.
For this project i'm gonna use:
    - piece of smoked black locust for the body
    - log of boxwood for the wedge and the boxing
    - padauk and maple veneer inlay (just for fun)
    - my hand tools
    - my hands
    - my head ;)
I hope you like how the plane will works!
At the end of the video i got small surprise for you :)
    Thank you!
If you have any questions or sugestions just write a comment.
    Enjoy!
Btw. Sometimes you asked me about plans of my planes, but i'm really sorry, i have them only in my head.. Maybe some day i'll put them on the paper or digital version. Today i don't have a time for it.

    Witajcie moi przyjaciele!
W dzisiejszym odcinku zrobię coś specjalnego - klasyczny strug typu strike block z okresowym boksingiem.

Beyond my absolute fascination with the layout of these works of functional art, I love that you do not mask the sound of construction with a soundtrack.
Nothing more soothing that listening to tool maker/woodworker making hand tools "sing". THANK YOU!
