@@shin-i-chikozima Thank you! I myself think that Bruckner is underestimated in European music history. About Japanese music I don´t know so much, sorry to say. But Japan has always been a fascination for many Europeans, for example for the Impressionists in their painting. Best greetings!
Bravo to the magnificent NDR and to Maestro Gilbert. NDR has been one of my favorite ensembles since Maestro Wand gave us such magnificently felt performances of Beetho en, Brahms and Bruckner. Now the NDR and Maestro Gilbert are turning the page on what is becoming a magnificent venture. Congratulations to you both. Gracias a NDR.Fantástica.
Einfach klasse!
Clear, balanced and natural. It's like a breath after a deep meditation. Look forward to see the recording of Bruckner and Brahms by Alan and NDR Elbphilharmonie.

You attended this performance before I did. Fine outing by the North German Radio here. I paid special attention to the scherzo and will keep it in mind as I watch other YT performances of this symphony. Cheers! Hasta pronto!
@@waynelutton4634 hello Wayne! 🤗 how are you doing? 👋 Ahh, I started my day listening to Bruckner! 🎶 What a beautiful rendition of Bruckner's Symphony N 4!! 💚 (Scherzo is amazing 🎶)... Wayne, one question, does your Bruckner collection include vinyl records too? 👀 I'll see you soon!
Great to encounter you here, Dmitry! The damned pandemic aborted my trip to Amsterdam to hear Blomstedt and Tielemann conduct Bruckner. Upgraded my PC speakers since I spend so much time watching concert videos and live streams. Hasta pronto! as our Chat friend Claudia Ochoa Cruz says.
Fantastic performance, Mr Gilbert! Now please continue to give us the Seventh, Eighth and Ninth, preferably with the Finale (a wonderful opportunity to get rid of the alte Zopf to suppress the Finale! I would rate you as a member of the daring conductor class of Harnoncourt, Rattle et al, to do that.)
I know Mr Gilbert very well by name but have not seen/heard my of his performances. And I have to say that I think this performance is outstanding in what it finds and brings out in the music. I look forward to hearing more.
We are very pleased that you enjoyed the concert with us under the baton of our Chief Conductor. Here's our playlist of further concerts under the direction of Alan Gilbert: ruclips.net/video/OOS48FpPGDs/видео.html
What a wonderful performance by the entire orchestra. The connectivity between the highly talented musicians and Mr. Gilbert was ever present and the ability to add a 'fourth dimension' of purposeful body movement by the musicians (while performing) was incredible and added to the emotion of Bruckner's Symphony No 4. The performance seemed flawless and perfectly balanced, a tribute to the bonded partnership of musicians and conductor. Beyond the complexities of delivering such a performance, Mr. Gilbert exhibits a reassuring and encouraging leadership quality that brings out the best in this special evening. It must be also noted that the facility is beautiful, the filming was very enjoyable, and the audio superb. Congratulations, thank you for sharing!
I will say that my favorite Bruckner 4th performance on YT is that conducted by the late Stanislaw Skrowaczewski with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia. But this performance you have just posted is really top-notch. Great, really. Kudos to your technical engineers! Watching on my home library PC, the sound is fine. As much as I wish I had been in the concert hall, the visuals on this recording help us appreciate how Bruckner assembled this symphony, including three trumpets and five French horns! Is it my imagination, but when Alan Gilbert was with the New York Philharmonic, I did not associate him with Bruckner. He is proving to be a noteworthy advocate for his music. Of course, this orchestra has been for many years. Thanks for sharing this concert with those of us who couldn't be there. I am sure I will watch it again.
Maravilhoso!
I have learned that Bruckner, as the very religious person he was, always wrote the second movement as sort of a hymn to God. Is it true? In this case it means that the second movement Andante quasi Allegretto at 20:32 is a prayer. I like that thought, in a way all music is a prayer.
With the last movement, Karl Boehm and Vienna are somehow able to sustain such a hypnotic quality to the end that, in my view, has not been matched...although I love this orchestra and performance! Boehm, initially keeps the tempi somehow blended between the movements to be "the same",...sorry I haven't studied the score...but his rather strict adherence to the same tempi between supposed transitions seems to somehow really hold things together in the end. But then again, I'm really drunk, but I love Bruckner. Bruckner was an alcoholic, like me,...right?
