Caitlin shoots at a 48% clip. Take 40 shots and you are scoring 50+ points instead of 32. Considering she makes 5+ 3's and about 6 free throws. LSU Kim Mulkey started the 40+ shot lie in a press conference late 2023. Don't know why a 61 year old woman with 4 or 5 NCAA Championships is going after Cailin like Mulkey is.

The truth is Caitlin is selling out every away game in arenas that are normally empty for a women's basketball game. I recently went to an away game and the crowd was filled with children both boys and girls, white black and everything in between wearing Caitlin Clark Jerseys. The lady in front of me was around 45 years of age black and wearing Caitlin's jersey. What is most important is she is creating a new audience and appreciation for women's basketball. It is a great sport with great athletes and anything that helps bring awareness to the incredible athletes that play this game can only be a positive.
I think it would be great if Ms Clark said thanks, but no thanks. I only played to get my degree.

Even if you knew nothing about Swoopes as a player, Clark as a current player, nor about women's basketball generally, basic critical thinking would lead you to Swoopes being completely wrong and unreasonable. When you see someone like Swoopes doing that, it isn't about basketball anymore, it's about identity.
Point blank, Clark is a fantastic basketball player. I've seen a few of her games in college, and I'll dip in and watch a few when she plays in the WNBA to see how she's doing. People like Swoopes will hate regardless if/when Clark does well in the league.

I didn't hear her complaining when records were broken when they introduced a three point line. It's very convenient for her argument when she doesn't like the player. I've been a part of this. This Caitlin Clark thing has happened before. 5 years ago Sabrina Ionescu was getting all the attention and is very similar to Clark in looks and attitude. In the WNBA Sabrina is a star but the WNBA and its media basically fights against her every step of the way.

Kelsey Plum played 139 games, scored 3,527 points, avg 18.5 shots a game finished career at 22 years old. Caitlin Clark has played 123 games, scored 3,462 points, avg 22.9 shots per game and she is 22 and this is her 4th season. Listen to videos of people who know basketball like Coach K, Steph Curry, K.Durant and others comment on Caitlin Clark. Dan Patrick would have roasted Swoopes if she said these things on his show.
The WNBA needs a star player that averages 30 points a game, just like the NBA had Jordan. This could be Caitlin Clark if the team she goes to let's her be herself.

I had a cousin who played in WNBA in 2009+ seasons she is heterosexual and the pressure on her from the mostly lesbian locker room was difficult. The popularity of women's tennis shows that the public is not necessarily biased against women's sports, even if the level of play isn't as high as the men's. What hurts the WNBA the most is that the players hate the public, and hate anyone who doesn't fit into their niche lifestyle. Star athletes at the top of their sport have the luxury of being insufferable while still getting paid; when you rely on the goodwill of the customer, it's a losing proposition.

Well, with regard to average points per game over a career - he isn’t. He’s just elected to play longer than most. Jordan retired twice and if he hadn’t he’d still have more total points than LBJ and so would Wilt had he decided to play longer. That dude was still destroying current day NBA players in open gyms when he was closing in on 50. Just ask Magic Johnson.
But, sure, there’s no denying that LBJ has scored more total points than anyone else in NBA history. He just isn’t anywhere close the greatest scorer in NBA history and most knowledge historians know that.

I don't really believe that's the case, I know I'm not going to start watching it if she goes there. Plus she'll be miserable in the WNBA, because it's chock full of more Cheryl Swoops, who feel the same way about her. I think she should just take a year off when her college career is over. About 39 years ago I was a collegiate athlete. One of my friends played basketball while I played volleyball and track/field. While talking with her about how things were going she said better. She explained everyone, including the head coach, was gay and it was difficult fitting in. She then said that even though she was not gay she started going to the gay bars on Thursday evenings to develop friends. This then led her to start having sex with some of the girls. My friend is not a very strong individual, she is a follower. This showed me how peer pressure changed her whole life. If I remember correctly, she said that lifestyle was not for her and wasn’t sure if she should keep playing basketball. She was crying, I was listening. I encouraged her to get out asap if this was too much for her to handle.
The pressure to be gay in some womens sports is huge.

I am SO GLAD that these three guys just told it like it is. It's so refreshing for commentators to actually tell the truth of a touchy subject and in a calm credible matter-of-fact demeanor. The WNBA players need to know that the league personality being largely lesbian is making a HUGE impact in viewership and likability. I LOVE watching women's basketball but I loathe the politics coming from these gals' mouths. These players should really APPRECIATE all the publicity that Caitlin Clark is getting and WILL get in the WNBA when she gets there because it'll make their game even better, their salaries bigger, and their viewership greater. I'm from the UK and I've been watching women's college basketball for over 2yrs now and the only reason is because of Caitlin Clark, yeah i watched Team USA in Olympics in years past when they had players like Bird and Taurasi when they used to thrash everyone because they clearly had all the best players but i never thought WOW these women are great i will follow them outside of an Olympics. Caitlin Clark when i first watched her i didn't just go WOW i laughed i smiled i thought what is this who is this, she passes, she dribbles, attacks the rim, shoots free throws, shoots lights out, logo 3s all at an all time elite level, yet i hear she's not a very good defender, whilst she isn't great who is anywhere near Caitlin's level in everything else I've just mentioned PAST OR PRESENT!!! The answer is simple NO-ONE.. Caitlin is entertaining a walking highlight reel, she's respectful to her teammates her coaches other coaches other teams and she always has time for the fans, yeah she's not perfect who in life is, she flops loads flop, she argues sometimes with referee's who don't, they ain't great, she gives her all every night for her team, plays with enjoyment with a smile on her face and sends people home with a smile on their face even a lot of opposing fans who are pissed their team lost but they got to see Caitlin Clark. Yeah there's hate, jealousy, envy but let the young girl play, she's 22 and she is known outside the US and whilst there are always rivalries in sport, that's 1 team with another or 1 player with another not half the country love her the other half hate her, she's been in college 4yrs and has moved college basketball forwards in terms of popularity and if the WNBA have a clue what their doing it will be the same when she goes which is good for women's basketball and women's sports right!!! Time for women to rightfully cash in on their paltry salaries so hopefully they do the right thing and promote the game correctly because if they don't with a generational talent like Caitlin Clark and a lot of other qualities players like Beuckers,JuJu, Brink, Reece and many more they never will.
That's unfortunate. I have -100% interest in the WNBA. I have never watched a single WNBA game in my life. I have only watched WNBA bloopers and have read WNBA jokes. I came up with a few jokes myself. I would not watch a WNBA game if someone paid me. Now, when Caitlin Clark makes it to the WNBA, you can bet I'm watching! If the WNBA is smart, they will nurture the hype and make her the face of the league. Maybe the league can finally turn a PROFIT?
