    Can only tell you of my personal experience using SeaFoam. I failed my SMOG test by 20 points, specifically the hydrocarbon measure (hc). I drove to WalMart. Bought one can of High Mileage SeaFoam and one can of the regular formula. I put the High Mileage in the gas tank which was half full of gas and the other can of SeaFoam was poured into the intake manifold through one of the vacuum lines. Car was hard to start as expected but eventually cleared through. Then I drove the car until all the gas was consumed. Refueled. Went back to SMOG check station. MY CAR PASSED!!! In fact, the tech asked me what I did. The numbers for HC (hydrocarbons) to pass is 58 in California. My first test was 78 (failed). After the SeaFoam treatment as described above, the HC number was....10. Incredible.

    SeaFoam won me over 15 years ago and I will never buy anything else. They didn't have the spray back then, but my Van was hesitating at low speeds. I took it in to 2 shops and since there was no check engine light well of course they couldn't figure it out. Then I took it to the dealer and they said it might be carbon build up and we can clean it out by hand for 500.00 dollars but we make no promises, so I said no. I told my friend who was in his 50s and he brought over a normal can of Sea Foam and we sucked it through the brake booster line and let it soaked. Then BAM! Smoke every where, OH MY! I said. Then the MIRACLE happened the van ran great. That saved me 500.00 dollars. The van never hesitated again and this was at 55k miles and I drove that solid piece of machinery to 270k miles till I sold it running in top condition. Because of that I will never buy an off brand. My buddy who brought the can over says that's the only thing they will use on there small aircraft. THANK YOU SEAFOAM!

    Was reluctant to try this as I'm not comfortable putting foreign chemicals into my engine but I watched a few videos and decide to give it the full treatment, 1 can of spray into the throttle body, and liquid seafoam into my fuel and oil and it has done amazing things for the carbon build up on my pistons. I checked before and after with a bore scope and saw crazy results. Thank you

    Great stuff. I didnt use as much as recommended by seafoam, but my 89 f150 5.0 kept giving me misfire like fits in extreme cold. I figured it had something to do with the intake temp sensor or the idle control valve. When I pulled the intake tubes off, I saw access to the idle air control valve, so I hit it with the seafoam cleaner, sprayed down the throttle body while it was running, sprayed more of the valve, shut it down and let it sit over night. Next morning, the truck runs beautifully again. A big fan of sea foam products. Use it in everything from my truck, motorcycle, lawn mowers and now, using their penetrating oil in my guns
    Keeps them rust free.

    I have used the regular formula by prying off the plastic seal on the top of the bottle, let the car warm up, then shut it off, then disconnected the brake booster vacuum line from the brake booster and put the open end inside the sea foam container. We started the car and rev’d the engine to high rpm’s. We let it suck all the sea foam up gradually, being careful to not add to much at once as it could stall the motor. There was white smoke everywhere for about 20 minutes and eventual the motor cleaned itself out and the smoke was gone. It essentially steam cleaned the motor. Got a misfire code as expected, but it went away after clearing the computer. Works great, some people are hesitant to do it this way but it’s completely safe for your motor.

Then I took it out for the drive and tried to gun it, car hesitated a bit and then finally a huge burst of white smoke and the car took off, smoking continuing to trail.

From now on, unless I hear their company was bought out by a big oil company, I won't use or need another product. I use it in my wife's 2002 Sienna and my 1993 Ford F250 Turbo diesel (aftermarket turbo). You can add up to 50% of your fuel tank capacity with Sea Foam. Me, I use two 16 ounce cans in 20 gallons which works great. I just used the upper cylinder (spray) Sea Foam in my wife's Sienna for the 2nd time. I have a 2013 BMW 128i that is fairly well modified, and recently my service engine soon light has been coming on. I plugged my Thor dongle into the OBD-II port and found out that my secondary air system is playing up. I tested the air pump and it works just fine, I removed the injection valve, soaked it in gasoline overnight, scrubbed it, sprayed it with carb cleaner, and it works just fine. I found out that the secondary air injection system has ports that lead into the combustion chambers of the head and that they can get clogged with carbon and when that happens the only way to remedy the problem is to remove the head and clean the ports out. Rather than do that I am going to try my hand at some Seafoam carbon removal. I need fuel, so I will put a can in the fuel tomorrow with a full tank of 93 (which I use anyway with a custom tune), and I will put the spray down the yap and do some praying.

    How does this work for a hybrid? I have a KIA Niro, which is a hybrid with a GDI ICE engine. A lot of these steps say to drive the car continuously, keep the RPM at 2k, etc. But I have no tach to see the RPM and driving it will just allow the GDI engine to turn on and off since it's a hybrid. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but are there different instructions for a hybrid?

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  5 лет назад +2

      Hi Bryan: I think your question is wise. There's no application difference. If you don't have a tach, just hold the pedal at a point where you sense that you're loading the engine to accelerate easy from a stop. Might be best to try another car with a tach to get a sense of 1500 to 2000 RPM.

I never do an cleaning to the vehicle so I tried sea foam top and tank clean. After I used the application and let the car heat soak I started it back up and no smoke came out so I started driving and as soon as I accelerated my exhaust backfired and smoke just poured out and flashed the check engine light at me and my car wouldn’t accelerate like it was in limp mode almost. So I pulled over and shut the car off and after a couple minutes turned it on and revved the engine and more smoke poured out and then the car started driving normally like nothing happened. Would like to see what this was all about, did I have a clog and once my exhaust popped it cleared it? Or was that just part of the process and my car was just slowed to react to the product?

      Buy one can Sea Foam High Mileage and one can of Sea Foam Spray and be prepared to let the car sit for 2 or 3 days. Now, visualize the following: Oil in a chamber could come in from a stuck ring, worn ring (doubtful), the ring actuator plugged with oil residue, a leaky valve guide. Supposing your Honda engine is an inline 4-cyl, I would remove all 4 plugs and spray a healthy burst of Sea Foam Spray into each chamber and let it sit overnight to soak around the tops of the pistons and rings. Each day, crank the engine with the plugs out, then add another burst of Sea Foam Spray. After 2 or 3 days of soaking, add half a can of High Mileage Motor Treatment to the oil crankcase, put the plugs in and operate as normal. Keep doing the oil treatment every interval.
