The motor was running after adding the second quart of oil but do you need to run the transmission through the gears while draining it to drain it more completely?

Did you add any sealing grease to the gasket or is supposed to make dry contact with the transmission housing? 4:40

Is that a steering wheel from the a5 beetle ? What did you have to do to get it to work? New clock spring and airbag ?

Yes! From 2012 Beetle. The airbag is not connected yet, only placed. The horn is working fine.

You supposed to check the level between 35C - 45C, checking it over 45C the fluid is too hot to get an accurate flow.
