@@robd9921 unless Marvel puts everything in one monster volume, it will be tough to justify 2 omnis. Also, I am not sure if Legacy 2 has been completed.
If anyone is on the fence, Tales of the Jedi (the books from the 1990s) is often regarded as the best SW comic Dark Horse ever published. Dawn of the Jedi is okay, great art, but TOTJ is legendary. Personally it’s one of my favorite comics ever. This one will sell out quick if you aren’t careful.
It was the first SW comic I ever bought. It's what brought me into the EU, now Legends. I was instantly hooked and it's my standard for what expansion of canon should be. If you've seen the Acolyte and don't understand why older fans are moaning about, have a read at this and understand what we expect from those shows.
It is my fav comics of all time! TOTJ is legendary and epic! Such a insanly great story! I have all these Star Wars runs in french hardcovers since 2018 and im buying the english Omnibus as well!
I've stayed away from most of the Dark Horse Star Wars stories recently collected by Marvel but this overview has me interested in this omni. Might have to give it a shot. Especially with Ostrander writing the first set of stories!
I can see this one going out of stock quickly and people begging for a reprint for years like The Old Republic. Additionally, Legends banner means Pre-2014/ Disney buyout continuity. 90% of that material is indeed Dark Horse era but not everything such as Newspaper comics or Original Marvel Years
And when this goes out of print, it's going to go for BIG money. The old white paperback omnibus books from Dark Horse of Tales of the Jedi Vol. 1 & 2 were going for ~$300 EACH before the Epic Collections came out.
Along with the Gillen/Pak Omnibus, this right here is easily my most-wanted SW Omni of all time. Can't freaking believe it's actually happening. Next, hopefully the classic Archie Goodwin/Al Williamson newspaper-strips in Omnibus format.
I really want to get this in this cover with Ulic Qel-Droma with the other Jedi with their lightsabers. I can only seem to find the Hutt version of the front cover. I really want the Jedi one. It's called Tales of the Jedi :( Can't seem to find it anywhere for a fair price (aka not over the odds on Ebay etc)
I’ve been cautious about SW omnis because Old Republic 1 is the only one I’ve read that’s been excellent (plus the Vader omnis, but those are a bit of a different thing). The others have been ok, at best, to outright terrible. I’ve given all the others away. But I’ve read the second epic for this series and enjoyed it, so I think I’ll get this one.
Great content, but the ugly black frame on the cover breaks my heart. I also really don't think DotJ and TotJ have any business being in the same book, it'll make for a very strange reading experience. If it was a separate DotJ and TotJ omnibus and didn't have the ugly black frame hiding the cover, instant buy. As it stands tho? My shelf is pretty full, so while I love TotJ... I don't know if I can justify getting it and I might just wait and hope the next printing does it justice whenever that happens.
I suppose that depends on taste. As of now, legends is still bigger because it had +30 years of publications. I grew up with legends and despise the sequel trilogy of movies, so I'm legends all the way.
I can't imagine anyone ever wanting to read this when we have legendary material like the acolyte. All jokes aside, this is perfect timing. I'm just about to finish the new republic omni 2 and was looking forward to jumping into anothet SW omni.
Did you see that they retconned Plagueis so that now the rest of the films and shows all technically originate from The Acolyte? They could not have sent a better middle finger to old fans lol.
I suppose there isn’t enough of Dawn of the Jedi. It was never finished due to Disney wanting to tell their “different” stories - strangely also about Thrawn and other established characters and recycled plots.
This, and New Republic vol 2. In the same summer. These two are really the best of Star Wars. What a great time!
For the universe to be perfect, Marvel must now announce the Star Wars Legacy Omnibus, collecting Star Wars Legacy #1-50 & Star Wars Legacy War #1-6
One can only dream.
But then where would you put the second Legacy series?
@@JoshuaMaster4 I've said before Legacy Vol II Omnibus should be made up of the Legacy Vol. 4 Epic Collection and the Infinities Epic Collection.
That era will be 2 omnis
@@robd9921 unless Marvel puts everything in one monster volume, it will be tough to justify 2 omnis. Also, I am not sure if Legacy 2 has been completed.
All that is needed for me is the Clone War Omnibus and the Legacy Omnibus and my Star Wars collection will be complete.

The Saga of Ulic Qel-Droma is one of my favorite star wars stories. His rise and fall and then redemption is fantastic.
I preordered this a while back and can't wait! Now if only we could get a reprint of Star Wars The Original Marvel Years Vol 1
We are getting closer and closer to a complete collection

So many Star Wars omnis coming out lately, I'm going broke.
So many Star Wars Hot Toys as well... I am really hurting.

The Force is still strong with DH golden age 😎
Don't forget the prose novels. With about 200 books, that's where the majority of Legends content is, in my opinion
@@JoshuaMaster4 I have been always a big fan of the Dark Horse years. Books from both Bantam & Del Rey are also really good.
My absolute highlight of the year, its finally here. Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider are my absolute best Jedi Knights of all time🤘🏻

Lets go!!!!! Was missing vol 1 of the epic oop and didnt want to pay stupid money for it. Glad this came out
Just need the first epic collection but it’s oop!!!
Cool book. 😎
Hoping for more Star Wars omnis!
Me: "Man bills are tight, struggling financially! I gotta take a break from the collecting!"
Oman Drops new video!
Me: "I need to get that!"
Omar: "Resistance is futile"
I missed out on the Direct Market version... :( 😥😭😢

Where does this fit in the hardcover omnibus reading order exactly?

Is there enough material for a vol 2?
No, this is it. If Disney hadn't bought Star Wars, there would have been more Dawn of the Jedi stories.
@@JoshuaMaster4 ahh alright, thanks man.
Is this good for someone who hasn't read any Star Wars stuff but has seen the OG and prequel trilogy?

This is random but I hope they collect Slingers some day.
Polemic Question legend or Disney ? 😅

@@BROWNMIST44 it's all good. The old fans moved on years ago. 😆
this old fan isn’t watching Disney
Legends just means that’s it been decanonized, pre Disney buyout. For example the old marvel newspaper comics are listed as legends as well.
Yes “legends” are the original Star Wars stories. I have no interest in Disney’s version of Star Wars.
God. I wish they had split Dawn of the Jedi and Tales of the Jedi into separate collections and omnibus.
