Just saw the video of the new Duotone Rebel D-lab. Looks like a great performer. Would love to have you review it. I like the new seam that can hold 10 psi. I've heard the Vortex is amazing for looping, and catches you very easily, even low down. It seems like a great kite to progress on looping for beginners. How does it compare to the Nitro and Orbit which you mentioned specifically for progressing on looping?

No, we don't have Core in New Zealand, but I did borrow a friends Pace to give that a try. Core is quite a different feel from most kites these days so they are quite challenging to get used to, and thus a bit harder to review accurately I've found.

Really depends how often you get 8m wind I guess... from 8-12m is a huge gap, I'd wager most days you'll be wishing you had somehting in between. I'd say at your weight you could ride the 8 from about 22-25knots and up, so it might work... my quiver is 8/10/12, but your idea of 9/12 NXT and a cheaper big wind day 8m isn't a bad idea at all... lots of Low V options that would work with Slingshot pair, Orbit/Edge/Nitro etc all solid options for big wind sending days.

@@ZapKite I’m not sure about a great one, big air kites do tend to pull a bit and don’t slack as well of course, but I think it would certainly be better than most kites that more bow shaped or big air specific
What happened to the leading edge of the kite at minute 13:31? It completely deformed! Is it a video compression glitch or a kite deformation failure?😮
@@miguelsilva1165 I had no issues the first couple of sessions, I think on that jump you’re referring too it had been a little under inflated because I took it out later in day after testing a few other kites
@ very hard for me to say, I still have my 3 evos after 16months, 2 of them needed bladder replacements but that’s the only repairs so far. That said, the second hand market for aluula is very poor so don’t expect to shift it on easily when done

Love the comment on heli loops as Ive only ever had great lofty lofty heli loops on one kite which was the Rebel. All others are too pivoty. How did it compare to the Rebel there?
Casually have you tried the Slingshot Machine? I just bought it, and i feel curious about what you could say about it. Friends of mine think its similar to the Rebel SLS. Anybody have tried both? The Rebel feels more sporty and jumps a bit better, but I felt a bit more spongy the bar (maybe just testing i was nervous because they let it me 😂)

What are your thoughts on deforming when taking off for the NXT? I´ve seen at least one jump in this video where the tips of the LE bend. How is it compared to other Aluula frames? Is it as weak as it looks? For other Kites, when will you get a Thrive? :)

My elbows hurt... As for the flight characteristics, this is a good kite, but the rear edge of the kite has turned into a gray rag in six months because it trembles a lot... You need to be in good physical shape to skate all day

The code v2 design / colors have to be the ugliest kites of all kites designed in the last 3 years... 😅 nxt looks nice though... was it on purpose to push people towards the nxt? 😜
If we’re rating ugly kites you shouldn’t forget duotone 🫣, for me personally north, core and some smaller brands like vantage make the prettiest kites with their simple design.
