Theme of The Worst Day of Erenville's Life
and the beginning of the worst week of his life
God I wanted to hug him when this was over
i think he tanked most of the WoL's mandated suffering for us this expansion
@@JurassicPancakeidk bout that, I’d say this excursion added a fair amount of new giant bricks to the PTSD pyramid we been building. (Makes you wonder if this is the kinda traumatizing thing the WoL does for a VACATION how’s the poor person still standing?!)
@@babarrett1 'cause besides all the trauma, our WoL has a purpose. It's what the expansion ends on. They ask your WoL what pushes you through all this, and that's the central conceit of how they're able to keep going. PTSD hurts soldiers so much because they're humans being forced to kill other humans over a cause that sometimes feels distant to them, and when being shoved right back into normalcy they were left wondering how they were supposed to be normal again. For the WoL though, there's very clear and evident causes to be fighting for. And the benefits of their actions are immediately apparent. They also have an excellent support system. So it makes sense that they are able to keep going.
Some happy "vacation" this turned out to be.
I can't stop thinking about Erenville when I see this zone. Imagine being away for years, to be within hours or days of the place where you grew up and went to school and learned to play with friends or neighbors, only to come back and it's an unrecognizable wasteland.
Erenville had it super rough this expansion, poor Bnuy. It's a miracle he didn't go insane. Worst part is that it all got hyped up that we get to visit his homeland and his mother etc and, which makes it extra sad. He must have felt like in a living nightmare.
Every Ukranian
Fallout 4 intensifies
Man, this zone was something. Especially if you're into the whole ruin/abandoned buildings aesthetic. And just finding out what was on the opposite side of the wall was a crazy sight.
My heart shattered like the landscape when I saw it.
Ah yes the lovely "fair skies" of Heritage Found.
Can it even _get_ fair skies at all proper? Like, the weather doesn't seem to even be considered "fair skies".
@@bradleydevron I just logged into the game just to talk to a Skywatcher and verify if it's still there and, so far, there are only Umbral Static weathers happening, so I don't know if that has been changed - but, yeah, by the time that comment was made, there were Fair Skies in Heritage Found. During Fair Skies, the skies become dark and featureless, with no clouds, static or thunderstrikes to be seen on the skybox.
Seeing the ruins of Alexandria in the second half of the zone, with some locations taken straight from FF9 was such a damn gutpunch. I knew this expansion was taking a lot from that game, but I didn't expect to straight up find a ruined version of the opening area...
I LEGIT WAS TEARING UP AND POINTING AT PLACES LIKE "I RECOGNIZE THESE STREETS. I RECOGNIZE THE ROOFING. I RECOGNIZE THE BELL TOWERS. IT FUCKING HURT.
I recognized it too, and i was like did Zooja kill Zidane and Garret as well T-T
@@nickwilliams904 Nah Zoraal Ja came to Alexadria 30 years ago. The struggle the Alexandrians had in their world with excessive lightning energy was something that happened centuries ago, so the FF14 version of Zidane and friends likely died at that time.
Have you noticed that there's a part of the city with massive glowing ball of lightning surrounded by 3 spiky ruins? Looks *exactly* like the Terran Portal did...
Yeah that was like "oh...shit", my reaction was positive tho cause holy shit the MSQ was REALLY ramping up at that point.
This is one of my favourite things in existence.
It sounds so twisted, tragic, powerful, like it knows it's going down the wrong path, but it keeps moving on.
I need both this zone's day and night themes injected into my veins.
Couldn't agree more.
This zone gets darker and darker very quick, and never stops. I hate it, I love it.
An ideal theme for Garlemald before its destruction.
To have a long lived love of the Netherstorm from WoW dethroned by FFXIV in both aesthetics and music was not something I expected from Dawntrail.
You can hear subtle notes from the Iifa tree theme in the bg, Soken is a genius
This theme really emphasizes the mystery and dilemma that surrounds this zone.
Finding FF9’s Alexandria outside the walls all destroyed was heartbreaking to encounter.
one of the best zone themes in a good while
Soken def playing trails of cold steel making this 😂
best area theme since shaaloani
@@omensoffate Ngl, Shaaloani gave me massive Cold Steel vibes. Then when everything goes to hell it feels straight out of a Kiseki game.
close enough welcome back Xenoblade X Cauldros Day Theme
Literally, the same vibes.
The music from the Garlemald bases in Eorzea, also reminds me of Cauldros music.
Xenoblade X huh? Loved the corny battle theme in that one with the line of, “Stuck in a different planet”
@@edboi2154 It's an acquired taste. Hearing the usual UH HUH, YEAAAAAH was very Los Angeles! (I am from LA)
Getting Azys Lla vibes
Azys Lla, but I don't want to leave immediately
@@Superior_Lute because it doesnt have shit colored sky
Oh yeah ! Most definitely
Soken's brilliance is shown here-- absolutely powerful track
His brilliance is on display throughout this expansion.
When I first got into this zone, it was raining and so dramatic. In combination with what's happening in the story, I legit thought this song was a danger music that will change later. It didn't help that they *did* use this as danger music when Zoraal Ja found the gate to the Golden City... and he seemed to have a key that Wuk Lamat and co didn't.
Also the song kinda sounds like the Castrum Meridianum theme but better. It brings me back to my ARR days (early 2021) when I first stepped foot into a castrum which got me giddy and excited because suddenly, the music sounded futuristic compared to what I've heard before.
Would y'all agree that this song has the Yuki Hayashi, Asami Tachibana or Hiroyuki Sawano/YAMAMOTO feel to it?
Dude when we first heard this with Zoraal Ja I was so excited to see where it would show up again, I was totally convinced it was a dungeon theme!
Definite Hiroyuki Sawano vibes to me, particularly Xenoblade Chronicles X music
This and the night theme give me Xenoblade X vibes
Alot of things this expansion gave me those vibes like the vocals in yak tel really reminded me of the vocal in noctilum
RIGHT???? Im glad im not the only one
Soken is great and using other peoples melodies 😂
@@omensoffate 3 days later and i still cannot piece together what you meant by this
@@AgentSilvReplace "and" with "at" I think?
This has serious final zone vibes and it could have very well been the final zone, but it's not.. let that sink in. For sure among my favourites, you feel the dread of going through an apocalyptic wasteland terminator style.
The theme of the invading Las Vegas dome
Mass effect Vibes
5:54 nice edit with the lightning
Complete coincidence! I didn't try to make anything in the video align with the music
this theme slaps
so far the expansion has had some excellent tunes
soken legit deserves some sorta industry lifetime achievement award
him and nobuo uematsu
yoko shimomura too.
@@gulusgammamon honestly anyone whose done work for sqauresoft or squenix on ff mana any of their rpgs had always cooked
Suddenly, Perfect Dark shows up. Great track.
Just got to this zone today, and immediately came to find this song here. LOVE this track so much. Can't wait to get it on the orchestrion! (Gives me Game of Thrones music-vibes, HARD)
Felt so many things when I realized I had found Alexandria in ruins, and with this epic ost. Looove this game ❤
I've been checking your channel for this since yesterday, some amazing music in this expansion but this is the best. Thank you!
Reminds me of the Terminator movies for some reason! I really love this area!
I was vibing to this so much when I heard it, my favourite zone theme in DT
I love the change to the area unlock pattern with Endwalker. Elpis and Heritage Found have both been 5th area unlocks reserved for a late part in the MSQ, and it makes their unlocks all the more effective, rather than giving you all of the first 5 areas so quickly.
I hated this zone at first but then it started growing on me the closer we got to solution 9. and the music grew on me too. this is a banger
This zone made me feel like I was in an episode of The Expanse! Very much enjoyed the sci-fi direction of the later end of the xpac :)
Hope we see more!
Can easily say this was one of my top 3 favourite themes in dawntrail, the uneasy emphasis. Spine shivering emphasis of ''the unknown and the twisted''. I...loved....it D:
Not to mention that insanely huge tower looming over you.
God this theme gives me ace combat vibes and i love it so much.
I adore this zone and this song. So much vibe.
This is a xenoblade X theme. Even looks like it could be a zone in xenoblade X.
gonna be remixing this one!!
That is the iifa tree
Omg you're right!
i'm going to be so sick.
Same function too, processing souls.
Even the final boss in Origenics bares semblance to the final boss in the Lifa tree
Best area ever
Reminds me of Xenoblade X
I swear the core repeating melody strongly reminds me of another song - one that might even have been in another JRPG or FF10-2/13. Does it ring anyone else's bells?
Probably not what you're thinking of, but i'm reminded a lot of Electric Heritage from Touhou 17, mostly due to the instrumentation. The fact that the name also happens to match up so well is a bizarre coincidence.
@@snapboy300 the one I'm thinking of definitely has lyrics - or at the very least a female choir - doing that note pattern. In my vague memories it sounds vaguely Nier-like, but it's hard to say, because memories are fickle
It reminds me of several Kingdom Hearts tracks at the same time like TWTNW's theme and Tron's, though that might not be what you're thinking of.
It can be mistaken for either the track MAD-NUG or Full Frontal from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. The whole theme would easily fit into the Unicorn soundtrack.
It's also similar to the Castrum Meridianum theme from ARR.
It reminds me of the garlean empire theme, in the castrums
Heritage Found feels more like a final zone than the actual final zone
Maybe it's the environment or a combination of the area and the feel this place has, but it reminds me of Half-Life. Specifically, Black Mesa. My fav song in the expansion, I keep coming back to this video!
And me here is reminded by the citadel in hl2
the sleek futuristic black structures mixed in with run down old buildings and surrounded by desert has a very City 17 vibe to it, actually
For some reason this reminds me of PS2 era Ratchet And Clank music.
A few of the tracks from this expansion were giving me R&C vibes. Even Y'ak Tel which isn't a cyberpunk area.
@@TheLQGaming Not every place in Ratchet and Clank is cyberpunk, even if there's a lot of machines.
Theme song of holiday over
Soken cooked here.
Always feels like it's threatening to turn into Distribution Facility - Smolg, with a little bit of Cauldros Day in there for good measure
Love this theme
Ok now I can't unhear the Space Jam version...
I arrived at night-time to this zone, so now I'm hella confused XD
THIS is the day theme? Cuz I thought it was reverse 😂
*sad spring noises*
I still can't believe they made Thunderhell real.
Yeah hold on I don’t know this might be one of my favorites in the game too
i was like
Emet, what the hell did you see before me :o
Huge Tron vibes with this one 🤔
Ah yes, this is where the MSQ starts
reminds me of Stellaris OST
close enough welcome back alexander from ff9 plus ost
I never trusted "her"
Lots of red flags
ARK DLC ost
Am I the only one getting APEX Legends vibes from this theme ?
This zone music shouldn't have been interrupted by the stupid regular battle music. It takes away the seriousness of the area. I understand they exclusively do that with the final area of the expansions but come on, I hate when I am tripping this banger while flying around just to get to a random fate or encounter and the battle theme starts.
EW zone 4 has left the chat
Completely agree, fully expected no change in music or a new song.
You guys know there is an option to turn off battle music right?
You can turn battle music off in the settings
Cool theme, but it really doesn't loop very well, unfortunately.
I hate the whole Tron/Phantasy Star Online aesthetic from this zone, especially solution 9 and the NPC designs, and i hope it wont be a thing in post DT MSQ... but the soundtrack is once again amazing
My new area favorite theme and favorite area. It gives me so many vibes from different games and settings...
Fate Stay Night Zone/Theme, this can easily fit Gilgamesh
I don't care how big this bridge is, it's not big enough for two of them!
