Hearing people with actual american accents caught me off guard here ngl
So used to the whole world being british lmao
They do get America VA for Xak Tural characters
Sena Bryer are LA based and one of the first characters you saw this map is definitely Daman Mills
I swear I've heard Wihutwe's VA before...
What's weird is we're clearly in like the Rio Grande/Nevada Old West for towns, with names drawn from all over Central and North America, and the people have mixed South-and-Midwest US accents (well, some...I mean, some of them are definitely not Americans trying to do American accents...And...Well, they're trying I guess >.>), the dress is ALL OVER THE PLACE. Shaaloani is like...All the North-to-North-Central American Stereotypes rolled into one place.
I love it, but it's *wild* being here as an American lol
@@TransientWitch hope we get a new map in northern Xak Tural in the future
I want the Canada map lol
@@williek08472 I swear he sounds like Ocelot from MGSV.

Me: this but dirtbiking it up
Dutch : "We just need to rob some cerulium, and we'll get to Meracydia Arthur!"
Dutch: “look Arthur, I was talking to this lalafel girl and she said limsa lominsa was just handing private islands away!”
Dutch: “I’m telling you, Arthur, just one more primal to summon and all our troubles will be behind us.”
"I don't know, Dutch... Seems like them goddamn pinkertons got flyin' horses now."
Ahh there's always a goddamn primal!
Guys thanks a lot. Loved this hahahhahaa
My dad was a local musician in Texas and him and his bands loved to play blues rock in particular. This track would fit right in to one of their sets.
He would have loved to have heard this. Thank you, FFXIV, for reminding me of something he loved.
Thank you for sharing♥Knowing it's blues rock somehow makes it even more lovely to listen to
This track sounds like something i would love to drink a glass of bourbon to, while sitting at a table listening to the band playing this all night long
how wonderful of square to add arizona to this expansion
That or Utah, just gotta wait to see if a man with a heavily bandaged head starts quoting the scripture of Hydaelyn
it's so nice soken loves echo, the hit furry visual novel, that takes place somewhere between nevada and arizona
@@iaxacs3801 i hate that i know who you're talking about LMFAO

friendship ended with tea and crumpets Eorzea
freedom country Shaaloani is my friend now
I mean, we already had expy Japan (Kugane), China (Doma), and Europe (Eorzea) from previous expacs; and then we went through expy Inca (Urqopacha), Aztec (Tuliyollal and Kozama’uka) and Mayan (Yak T’el) areas, so when we went north, we were bound to get into the Great Plains… and Japan loves the Wild West as an idea.
@@zanaduz2018 Don't forget when we got Russia (Garlemald) and India (Thavnair)
God damn i love this zone.
@@the.duck.is.ronin. bruh garlemald is literally roman empire

Having the Cowboy/Wild West vides while keeping the many Native American cultures together really puts a big smile on my face
The funny thing is you can hear the stereotypical eagle (actually a falcon) scream in the zone.
Absolute freedom archieved.
As well as the blatantly American western accents. It's fantastic.
The Hollywood eagle sound is a red-tailed hawk, not a falcon.
An NPC in a cutscene mentioned "the rule of law" and then that sound played immediately after and I howled with laughter
This is for zone where if you ask ANYONE how long a kilometer is they’re respond with “WTF IS A KILOMETER” while going FULL MURICAN with their firearms
@@BullsMahunny my only actual flaw with the expansion is that the accents didn't sound that legit. Though im more familiar with Appalachian accents
Vow of Resolve: We did it! We're Dawnservant! What are you going to do now?
WoL: I think I'll head up north, there's town I've heard called Flagstaff.
"To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day...."
I think they went farther north then that with the amount of dinos, trains, and the fact Antelope Canyon is literally a location to get a Wind Current at
To blue lizard guy, you stop my cowboy larp and end my yeehaw. This is personal now. Prepare to yee'd your last haw.
White Mage: "Your ass ain't dead boy. I cast Reintarnation!"
Be rootin'
Be tootin'
And by god be shootin'
But most of all...
Be kind
Darn tootin'.
Cowboy rules!
Yeeehaw!!
also rewind
I play MCH, and all through these levels
That was the motto
They put dinosaurs in Cowboy land. Someone in Yoshi-P’s dev team had a badass imagination when they were a kid and he gave it his 100% approval.
It also helps that the dinosaurs in question ARE found in the USA, specifically in states like Montana or Wyoming, which fit the cowboy aesthetic anyway.
I think Yoshi-P just played too much Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.
As a Paleontologist, I approve of the direction Yoshi P. went with.
@@psycosulu Oh my GOD am I happy someone else knew that series and this zone reminded them of it! :D
What's fun is that there are pterosaur cryptids in west Texas. It's nonsense, of course. But still fun to think about.
There's a new sheriff in town folks. And that person, is the warrior of light
Sheriff of Light
Being from Texas, this zone already hits really close to home. Couple that with the music having a really weirdly nostalgic vibe, damn I love this zone
Big mood, lived in DFW area for some 15 years or so before moving out of state. I miss it.
Same. Same.
Im from west texas and this is 100% how it is here. Dirt for miles
I live in Arizona and I swear I've seen this exact geographical layout before in-person it's uncanny
I'm from New Mexico; this zone definitely feels very homey to me, especially when I got to the pueblo.
That guitar sings right to my soul. Fell in love with this place the moment those licks hit my ears.
It might just be my favorite
@@BlackGhostPanda It's such an excellent vibe. The piano night theme is pretty good, too.
We all know Hildibrand is gonna have a section in the questline where he wears a cowboy hat and has a duel
YOO, I want to see that so bad. If I don't get "You yee'd your last haw" vibes. Disappointment.
Can't believe we got cyberpunk lofi trap beats in the same expansion that we got the cowboy sex music

If i wasn't rocking the Stormblood warrior glam and leveling War this expac, i woul've gone Machinist and glame'd my way into the wild wild west.
Yee'haw cowboys and galls, and non binary palls.
I actually turned off the battle music for this zone.
Same braincell. Switched up my glam to a Wild West cowboy look, hopped on my motorcycle (I only have the Fenrir one tho) and cruised

This is my favorite area because I'm a born and raised Texan, and this area makes me feel like I'm in my backyard.

Close enough welcome back Final Fantasy XV.
The music when you enter a bar in the southern United States that's frequented by biker gangs, truckers, off duty policeman and a few rock band members
Can confirm xD
This OST is 100% up there with Sands of Amber and One Small Step as tracks that just so perfectly set a chill mood for me.

This is my favorite zone in all of XIV. There's something just awesome about Western themed things in Japanese media that nail the best parts. Dust storms, saloons, cowboys, the wild frontier in general. They did an incredible job and this song sets the mood perfect.
You can tell they love it and put care into creating it.
That moment with the standoff, with the two tumbleweeds and then the weed-covered critter, made me laugh so hard

It's always Highnoon in Xak Tural
Red Dead Fantasy looks cool
The song that will be measured in units of Freedom Per Cowboy Hat
When I saw Estinien leaning by the saloon door all Clint Eastwood like. I was genuinely in stitches, because his Knight Errant archetype, is the EXACT SAME archetype found in the Western Lone Wanderer, and the Wandering Ronin.
All I can imagine when I listen to this is people slowly walking around in circles on their mount while waiting for *the* fate to spawn.
Best theme in Dawntrail, love it!
NA got sundered while I was in this zone... save me ost upload
Makes me want to replay Wild Arms, and I love it for that
It actually reminds me of early Shoji Meguro, especially Digital Devil Saga OST.
Exactly, if you'd told me this was an area theme from DDS1 that I just didn't remember I'd probably believe you.
@@SundayCatchy Yeah, it sounds like a mix of Muladhara tone with some Anahata instrumentals. Still coping for that DDS 1/2 remaster.
That's exactly what my friend and I thought when I streamed it for him, that it sounds like DDS music.
Any tracks in particular? Probed through a few tracks of the OST and honestly nothing sounds even close.

That man really is a blessing.
0:22 for the photobombing mage and not-sabotender
they could have made an entire expansion based off of this and that would have been okay.
moar cat cowboys?! ok im in with this
I was on my usual relaxed samurai fit, and i felt that "samurai in wild west" movie vibe.
I was so out of place every time in custscenes, but it was funny as hell.
Slow blues country rock, love it! Somehow vaguely puts Crisis Core to mind.
Once was a time a man could live in peace out here. You could trust the bosses to pay you yer fair share for a hard day's work, traders to give you a fair deal, and the gun at yer side was just for the occasional varmint what wandered too close to town.
Now? Only one you can trust now is the alpaca you rode in on and the rifle on yer back. Only hope a man's got now is that train carryin' you outta these parts, and even then there ain't been word from the people on the other side of that there tunnel for some time. Best watch yer back, pardner, 'fore someone puts a bullet in it.

This town ain't big enough for two warriors of light.

i can never take this zone seriously after having a dream once that all the npc names here were actually just the fake american names from that one japanese baseball game
this song really makes me think of some of the music in digital devil saga. forever enchanted by this guitar, one of my favorite new area themes
Love this song. Reminds me of Digital Devil Saga
The moment I saw this zone and heard this I knew this was the zone for me.
The vibes in this zone are immaculate.
Just my elezen cowboy fit and his impractical two swords that combine, on a motorcycle or chocobo with this playing in the background.
Wasn't sure what to expect when I crossed the bridge but definitely not Red Read Redemption
This zone is making me level my MCH up to 95 just for the aesthetic. I love it so much.
Welcome to the wild west.

Big fan of westerns! I couldnt help but turn up the music and take a slow stroll while mounted on my chocobo.
You've yee'd your last haw, pard'ner
Whoever put Red Dead Redemption into our game should be given a raise xD
So amazing theme, you wish it would be daytime forever!
When I first heard this it gave me FF15 (early game) + Persona 5 vibes.
It sounds more like DDS than Persona.
Oh so Shoji Meguro did compose for FF14 after all !

Anyone getting SMT vibes with this? Specifically Digital Devil Saga? I sure am
As a Tejano, this zone FUCKING rocks, I feel at home in Shaaloani
This gives Sam and Dean vibes from SuperNatural. I can see this playing as they are driving in their 1967 Chevy Impala and getting out of the car.
I'm glad to see other people as obsessed with this song as I am, none of my friends are :(
If there's anything that really suffers fro mthe feeling that Dawntrail is two expacs stuffed into one, it's the fact that there's only one zone dedicated to Frontier America. But by god that FILTHY bass is so damn good.
As someone that grew *up* with country, western, and whatnot as part of my very DNA pretty much, the second I heard the guitar I knew I'd have one of my favorite zones to head to in order to craft.
People give the genres shit but when you stick to the instrumentals it is an excellent style.

Man, the guitar riffs in this tune remind me of Stevie Ray Vaughan a bit. Got that Texas blues sound, at least to me.
I tell you what, Soken and his team understood the assignment.
I’ve lived in Texas my whole life, and I’m a huuuuuge mark for this aesthetic/sound. So when I got here and heard that southwest electric guitar I knew I was in good hands.
