Everything starts with the o-line. We can’t run-block, definitely can’t pass-block. Pre-snap penalties. The Bears offense just makes everything looks so hard.

One correction about the end of half FG. They kicked a touchback then had a 5 yard penalty, it wasn't a kick return. But i was super annoyed with it also, i thought it was super important to make them return the kick to take some time off the clock, it looked like Santos was trying to but kicked it slightly too far and they kneeled for a touchback, then the 5 yard penalty on top, so it was almost worst case scenario, no time taken off and they start at the 35. The end of half clock management has been really bad both weeks, especially vs the Titans where Caleb was hurrying for no reason whatsoever.

I really expected the o line to he better. But im seeing growth for Caleb

What growth have you seen? It's only been two games. He looked lost.

I'm absolutely here for the Edinger memories. Dude looked like he was posing for a Renaissance sculptor to carve a statue of him. Very dramatic look.

As Nick said, if we work in more slants and crossers verse pressure looks going forward, I'll take that improvement from the passing game. But that OLine gives me agida.
Glad the defense showed up and gave the O a chance to win verse a real good offense.

We as bears fans are privileged. Defense played well in the first half as well. 1 TD in the first half is good. 1 TD all game is very good

To be fair they wouldn’t have covered had the Texans not fumbled at the 1 yd line

Idk I agree that the OL talent shouldn't be playing as badly as they are and that's making me think this is a coaching issue. Chris Morgan has been this OL coach for three years so when do we start looking at that? This can't SOLELY be a personnel issue.

@@FrankMarshall-d3i that's the real question and I wonder maybe he thought it was a personnel issue and not coaching. But it's getting harder to ignore at this point

The Hunter sack where Kmet missed the block, he actually said that he is running a route on that play and they expect the DE to crash down harder on that.

Has a team ever used 3 top 50 picks all on iOL in 1 draft? Because the Bears might be the first team to do it this upcoming draft

I dont mind all the throwing for Caleb. Manning has said before the best way for rookie QB to learn is to just throw the ball. If Caleb continues to improve, I'll take it. Other than the IOL problems. 😂 🎃🎃

Oline- Maybe we can try some moves. Move Jenkins to RG (Davis needs to be done - backup time), try Pryor at LG, get Kramer ready to take over Center. Shelton on a very short leash. Honestly i am very worried about our Oline coach and RB coordinator.

I did some digging on Chris Morgan and in his 6 years with the Falcons [2015-2020], as OL coach, 3 times they had bad Yds/Carry averages. 1 great season and 2 average seasons. For all 6 years, they had 2 very good linemen, in C, Alex Mack, and LT, Jake Matthews, and for 1 year they had RG, Chris Lindstrom. Those lineman have 10 Pro Bowl appearances between them, so they had some definite OL talent. The results from the run game were a bit underwhelming for C-Mo.
In 2021, the Steelers hired him and he was a 1 and done coach. The Bears hired him in 2022. I'm not sure at this point, but maybe we should take Pittsburgh's discards as a hint that they may not be talented. Hey, that's weird, I just received 3 texts from Kordell Stewart, Chase Claypool & Chris Morgan. hmmm 🤔

Poles Is culpable, and he's talent identification of Offensive Lineman is terrible ! But people have to talk about Chris Morgan! terrible OLine coach.

I have said all along this is a 9 win team and still believe it. For the 2nd time, they made the other team look ugly. That should continue due to the defense. Offensively, they need time. I'd like to see Herbert in there more running the ball. They have to establish some sort of identity by being able to run the ball.

Ugh Oline continues to be a problem buuuuut Caleb looks improved from last week and the defense is still fantastic. Measured breaths.. 🎃🎃🐙🐙
Also y’all are singing eberflus’ praise for his adjustments so far this year but he’s been doing that since day 1.
First half over second half the defense always looks exceptional in the second half as long as Flus has been here. The differences being he’s got way better personnel now and because of that we’re not starting the second half in a 30-10 deficit.

He was not accurate enough. He missed throws he needs to make. He sees it which is good but he is not converting. He throws to areas he is not placing the ball.

Flus was the only piece not changed and it is going to cost us a new QB...WTF they are an unmitigated disaster on Offense with a new OC QB RB WRs TE Olineman ect.. and they still suck. Im sick of hearing we are close..no we arent

Again the offensive line was putrid last year. It's putrid this year. If you don't fix something, it's not going to fix itself. I won't go through revisionist history, but this is going to keep being a problem until it's solved. Glass half full if you want, but getting your rookie QB killed behind a bad O-line is typically a bad idea in NFL history. It's just not smart. If people want to celebrate him surviving, I guess, but it's not a smart approach. Said it last year, saying it this year, let's quit critiquing everything else and fix the O-line.
