    • @kathyclark2394
      @kathyclark2394 Год назад +1

      These kids were adopted. By what I understand is for years they didn't know about being adopted. Nicholas were 6 when his adopted Dad died which he thought was his real Dad. I think after that things went from bad to worst. His adopted Mother passed away a few months before this happened. He went to live with a friend parents. They knew he had 2 guns that they claimed required to be locked up. None of this is an excuse for what he did. This is an example how the system fails. All adopted parents isn't good parents in the home. Same way with foster parents or group homes. So sad for the loss lives.

    • @StellaFl

      His mother strikes me as someone desperately trying to hold on to her children despite their horrific behaviour. Not all parents would do that, many would have thrown them in the street. 100% agree ! I don’t understand why the defense does not even talk about the elephant in the room.
      There was and always will be people with mental health problems, people who had difficulties in life, just bad people who can do terrible things. But if they live in a place where they can access deadly weapons so easily, instead of hurting maybe one or two people they can kill dozen of them in a minute.
      Other point is, we are finding out how Cruz was obsessed with guns… who is responsible for making that possible?? When we are living a society where guns are glorified and so hardly defended by majority of people, how can we avoid that an autistic young man, who did not have the best chances don’t end up like this… the gun industry is guilty and there should be consequences to allowing this to happen
      Not trying to defend Cruz at all, but I don’t think he is the only responsible. We à society failed him, and failed all of his victims. We should be focusing on never have that happening again… unfortunately we know that this did not happen

    i won't raise questions about how he should be punished, and I don't think Linda was the only to blame but that woman did struggle raising the two. I mean, when a mother expresses frustration over a situation her kids caused, laughing about it is a sign that they don't respect her and they laugh because they know there won't be consequences to their acts. Cursing at her over an Xbox? He'd have lost his teeth in a minute had he grew up in Brooklyn (not saying it's the right thing, just pointing out he did whatever he wanted with no consequences). Clearly Zachary had issues too, shoplifting and telling neighbors bad stuff about his own brother, stepping over his brother's food... Where was the mother to correct him somehow? Boundaries need to be established in a house, we're supposed to behave as humans not animals. I had fights with my sister when we were young but I'd never tell my neighbors bad things about her, it sounds quite manipulative, as if to distance people from his brother, no wonder Nicholas expressed almost animalistic behaviour, more of a defense mode than actual social skills. It's a sad situation, poor parenting that took a long time to correct them and that became a huge tragedy to innocent people.

    This isn't surprising because the cost of some of these recommendations are expensive. This mother, like many parents, can't afford these things because the cost is so high. That said the mother had many opportunities to have this man evaluated properly which might have helped him immensely. She is at least guilty of neglecting the help reccomended.

      How can someone be just bad? This is nonsense - if you haven‘t listened to what the pharma expert said - he is brain damaged caused by fetal alcohol syndrome - so his brain never developed properly which means he lacks brain function which can cause ALL his problems - I know no one will hear it cause saying a person is bad is just the easier thing to do and by telling everyone he is bad will give you permissin to end his life by death sentence. Life is not that easy and sometimes we need to admit that a person who did something evil is not bad at all but was mistreated all his life caused by the denial of the alcohol and drugs he was exposed from his birth mother - it is just neclect what she did especially with her selective telling of his problems. If all those experts and therapists knew from the other and would be informed properly this would have had never happened cause he would have gotten the help he needed from the start! I feel sad for him and for the victims but just vengeance didn‘t help to avoid those things in future

I also remember that when the two were adopted the couple was affluent but after her husband's death when NC was 6, Lynda was in financial distress. Cruz should be taken to a center to be studied, and since there is so much research into his behavior here, that will help identify other young children whose imagery is daily about sex and guns and killing, so they can be id’d early. If we studied our offenders instead of killing then or putting them in solitary, we might be able to find these white men sooner. It’s ALWAYS WHITE GUYS, so that’s a good start, too.

      The defense is doing their job. Especially when dealing with a death penalty case. That is what they are suppose to do. Also the prosecutor did tamper with a witness. This judge has never dealt with a case like this. In addition she shows biased towards the defense which on appel can get the death penalty overturned. That would be very sad, because despised all of his issues that does not excuse what he did.

      He’s already plead guilty this is a sentencing trial, which is still done in Florida. The jury will get to decide if he will have life in prison or if he will receive the death penalty. Quite literally a life or death decision. The jury requested to know everything and his background before deciding which is why they are getting in the weeds like this.
      Personally, I don’t think this is a bad thing. I think it puts into light how no one took any action to stop this. We can learn about more warning signs and perhaps why these tragedies happen.

      U don’t know what your talking about please don’t comment like that. He facing a jury so they could decide whatever he get life without a parole or death penalty his legal defense team is trying to get the jurors to prohibit the death penalty because of his condition and background . We already know the outcome to this situation and he has been sentenced. This trial is going to take a while until October because they have a lot of testimonies coming in

    Okay honestly, I don't want to rude or sound "cold" but I don't care no more...this is one of the longest damn case I have ever seen. It's a shame what happened to those 17 individuals and those family are hurting the most so why keep dragging on. I do not care about the case however, it is a sad situation and devastating but damn...come on just sent his white a** to prison already damn!! smh let's just say, if he was a black man...oh boy...it will be short and sweet trail I'll leave it at that.

      @@Pinkheartwellness No, your feeble mind is just searching for a scapegoat. Violent video games have never been part of the problem. In fact, people who play violent video games are less likely to have violent outbursts. There is no scientific correlation between video games and real world violence whatsoever, every scientist/behavioural expert will tell you this. I am tired of people not understanding what video games are about, jumping to false conclusions and demonizing a whole industry.

      @@mauricefricke6236 Violent video games like Tour of Duty and many others are top sellers. If that was the cause of killing sprees, everyone who plays them from 18 to 40 (random ages) would be running out of their homes killing people, especially those with guns. Cruz was psychopath and a sociopath. Zachary is more of symbiotic behavior characteristics with other issues, who can, hopefully, be helped in a stable environment.
