A wedding is a perfect reason for being late!!! I hope their marriage is longer than my parents' marriage - they almost made 66 years when my mom passed at 89 years old. If you pull out on front of someone to pass something, put your foot down or wait until the person in the other lane passes you!!! Those lads were quite enamored with Rex - love it!
Hey there just seen this before retiring for the night. Mum and Dad made 66 years I think before Dad passed very recently. Dad was 88, Mum was his only full time carer she is 87 and was still at the wedding party nearing midnight with an hours journey home. An emotional rollercoaster it was yesterday, one that I found I wasn't quite expecting. I think it's just life when you really start to think about it and the passage of time. My lad is a bit of an oddball in some respects, a bit like his Dad some might say, but I think he's found a perfect match with Jazz, they are so alike with their tastes and outlook and I can only hope they have as much happiness as I've had with my wife, pity my wife can't say the same about me! 😉🤣🤣🤣All the very best.
@@cloudmaker It seems 60 to 65 years is a very long marriage, usually only separated by a loss. Anything more could be considered a bonus.
The in laws made it to just short of 59 years. They married later than most in their day.
You're right about the passage of time! It's easy to forget things in the distant past, not realising some of it is relevant today. Now, when we find ourselves so much older, our parents too have aged, yet we don't think of it so much until one or the other has an injury, taking forever to recover or falls ill with no recovering at all. After we'd been through all that & more, we're quickly reminded of why we're here... It's for a GOOD time, not necessarily a long time!
It's a regular conversation in our families, usually including some form of warped sense of humour, as we know what's coming, just not when...

As for our fruit not falling far from the tree, it's like we're watching ourselves at their ages, doing some of the same things we did, some not so crash hot, others OK, but most working out perfectly fine. Like water, it always finds it's own level. 👍🏼

20:34 Grubs. I'm also in Oz. Several years ago, I came across an older couple (that should've known better!) near the Zig Zag Railway, near Lithgow. They were less than 10 metres from a pile of crap they obviously had just dumped. Their rusty old Commode Door was bottomed out on a hump. They wanted me to pull them out. Fat chance!
As I was heading west, I dropped in at Lithgow cop shop, flashed some pics & left it with them... after I contacted the EPA. Both contacted me later, with "good news". 🤣
Hello Ian, well that denied driver was taking the pi... Tractors are only allowed on dual carriageways but not motorways, they must have flashing amber beacons. Thinking about it those roads have the same speed limit as motorways 70mph for cars. Quite a lot of tractors now do 40mph with some doing 50mph as standard. Litter louts really annoy me and there's no need for it as our tips and recycling centres are open everyday except Christmas and New Years day for 10 hours a day, and it's free. All the best Ian.

@@cloudmaker I got lucky. The cops had a "captive audience", as they were well & truly stuck. As for the EPA, I called them, reported the details, then emailed same, with pics.
The EPA here will send a fine for something as small as ciggy butts. Very hard to fight those things & all but a few get paid.

Hello Shaun thank you so much for, not only this comment, but now being a regular viewer. You know it's a sobering thought about how time has gone so quickly and it's not until such life changing things that you really think about it properly. The wedding was a real rollercoaster of emotions, some unexpected ones that knocked me for six I can tell you. Jazz is a smashing lass, they are such a great fit and they make each other happy and are dedicated to each other, that's all you can wish for with I reckon. All the best Shaun and have a great week. My little deep archive I had to include, he was a very poorly child at the time, hence trying all the tricks to get him to settle, did you notice the chocolate smeared on his face? It was smeared on our bed too as he wiped his hands!

Hello Norm thank you very much for that one. I always try to get folks by me on these narrow lanes and been on some today that made me realise why they need to be in front as meeting opposing traffic that can't reverse means they really get in the way when you're trying to back into a passing place. It really shows you who the competent drivers are in those situations. Have a good week yourself Norm I'm starting to wind down for holiday mode next week, can't wait!

Cracking comment as ever Kevin. Sorry to hear of daughters loss mate, more common than you might think unfortunately. Mum lost one of us, and a mates kid lost twins but they were blessed the next time with twins again and this time no problems and healthy, had another since too, the rate some are going they'll be grand parents in their thirties! Toyota ad sounds like it was made for Aussie market. 2:26 Always a queue there every evening so should have been looking out for it really. With leaving a good gap I find that you don't need to react to those in front constantly having to touch their brakes because they are too close, this in turn sets of a chain reaction behind them eventually leading to standing traffic and much longer queues. Whereas I can keep the traffic behind rolling at the limit almost so everyone behind gets through quicker. As for crossing duty woman, not a proper crossing patrol person, the kids need to learn how to use the crossings and know how traffic behaves, it's alright having someone there but she shouldn't be interfering with traffic flow as she sees fit. I like many others will wait until the crossing is clear and not force a path through. All the best Kevin.
@@cloudmaker Yep, sure is common! During the daughter's first, a friend of hers lost one. The "talk" followed, with all the sad details that come with it.
She had the first with no complications. Sadly, it was one of those things, put down to an oddly located placenta. All very good this time around, as she's being well looked after. And she's looking forward with more to come!
The mother in law went last May at 86 (a month to the day before the baby) & was lucky enough to see two great grand children. The father in law is still going well at 90. 👍🏼

The Traffic Snake... Keeping a gap isn't a widely taught skill. Timing is everything. I don't play musical instruments, yet fully understand the importance of keeping a good beat, from the slow to a rolling, continuous double-double bass! 👍🏼🤣🤣 Their 1 second gaps are exponentially halved for the cars behind as the one up front stops.
That woman at the crossing was hard to watch. Frustrating comes to mind, because she couldn't here me! 🤣🤣 I was surprised to see the kids not use their better judgement there, if they have any, that is.
Forecast is sunny & 28C here today. The past week has been several degrees above average. Hot for the end of winter! We're hoping it's not a sign of 40+ summer days!

Dad in law still going at 90 is a good innings as they say with yet more to come, hopefully in at least reasonable health. As for the weather I'm sure more records will be broken but still think what little we affect it within our little country (UK) will be far outweighed by other much more polluting countries around the world, we all share the same air don't we. @@cloudmaker When I was around 12 /13 my mates grandad was a shunter there. We used to go on a Sunday when the bosses wasn't there and spend the day on the shunters , shunting the coal wagons around. Now I know we wasn't actually shunting the wagons but as kids we believed we were doing the work ! Oh the days before health and safty really kicked in ! Then I spent my working g life down the pit ! And there lays another story of my life,me duck. I should write my memoirs of my life down the pit from the age of 17, untill i wad injured in a roof fall on the 5 th of Dec 4.45 pm 1989 !
