  • This is our multi-part series of a F1 to manual transmission conversion on a Ferrari F430 using a DIY EAG USA conversion kit. We will do a step by step series of videos on this process. Not all of the steps will be included so please refer to the instruction manual as well as these videos. Also there may be elements that we are including that are not part of a typical manual conversion and other elements that are skipped because of optional components of our specific conversion. This will also cover most of a Ferrari 360 manual conversion as they are very similar.

    Very impressive how good you were at labeling and organizing the screws, nuts, and bolts. That'll make reassembly so much easier, there's nothing worse than looking for a screw, wasting time 🙄.

    While I have no immediate interest in doing a manual conversion, this video series is going to become a super valuable reference for disassembly alone! The number of parts you will be touching is nuts… And when any of us 430/360 owners have any problem with any of the parts you are touching, these videos will be the go to resource for how to access them.
    Thank you so much for sharing and please keep doing so!

    Don't forget to label the centre console switch plug sockets. Some plug sockets are unused (Ferrari likes to make standard looms for both F1 and gated cars and their options). If you plug a switch plug into an unused or wrong socket upon reinstallation, you could blow fuses. 11:45 I believe the "speaker looking thing" is related to the parking sensors. 26:57 is the Suspension ECU

      @@chrisparker4940 it is the flip out unit. I saw a review on RUclips and bought it. I don't know how it compairs to the 3500, but mine does the Apple Car Play & Android. I tied the parking break wire together with a black, as shown in the video, and now the music video's play when it's in drive. I don’t know, I’ve done enough home wrenching on modern complex cars to think a DIY manual conversion sounds almost as iffy as a do your own root canal😂. Comprehensively reading the manual and properly planning the job could take 26 hours by itself. If I already spent Ferrari money and then cost of the kit money, I would play it safe spend some more and take it to a certified by EAG shop.
    This is however going to be a fascinating video.

    hey so i got a question for ya I know the 2008+ are the models to get for the F430 but if I plan to do a manual conversion like this, would any year really matter? Is there other quality changes other than the transmission in later year cars that I should take into account? 2008+ models are significantly more expensive than earlier years that's why I ask... thanks!

    • @normalguysupercar

      No. You have to swap the transmission

    • @GM-fh5jp
      @GM-fh5jp Год назад

      The 458 has a dual clutch transmission designed for auto shifting.
      The 430 is a robotized manual that just replaces the usual linkage actuation with electronics so it can be converted back to linkage shifting ala a manual.
