I just bought (used) that exact model and color of Gretsch guitar. It's on the way. It's my first "real" guitar, joining my 3-string cigar box guitar. Now, I must master 6 strings - LOL. This Gretsch should prove inspirational. Can't wait. Hope it takes kindly to an occasional slide.

    I have 2 Gretsch. A 5222 & a 2655-p90
They are great fun to play and probably the best
value for the money available today

I have that Gretsch in Azure Blue. Stunning guitar that plays very nice! I switched the pickups in mine to a TV Jones classic in the neck position and a Powertron plus in the bridge position. The Blacktops were decent, but IMO didn't have that classic filtertron warmth. Love the new TV Jones pickups! I also did locking tuners and a graphite nut to help with tuning stability with the Bigsby tremolo.

Another interesting roundup! The fact that you have the skill to demonstrate in a style appropriate to each instrument sets you apart, fantastic playing. I'm a recent subscriber and just sorry I didn't find your channel sooner.

Only one comment, the Gretsch g5655tg has black top broadtron pickups, no filtertrons, I have one an it's amazing, great look and sound. By the way, the 335 tokai that you played sounds great

Just bought a Gretsch 5655 in Casino Gold because of the chrome hardware.
Looks a bit more decent to me.
Great guitar for a great prize, very versatile.
Play it over a tweed deluxe amp.
    Nice combination.
    Thanks for your hints.

the second guitar sounds very nice on overdrive, it's even a pity that the gretch doesn't sound like that, it's a standard. I recently bought such a gretch but for some reason the strings are very hard, I can’t play as easily as you, tell me?

Ciao Dear Guitalian! I'm a beginner guitarist from Hungary. I have a strat style guitar with a brand of Stadio. I have been searching a lot of time on the internet to find any information about this guitar but I have failed. I have some basic information: built about 1995 and maybe coming from Italy. Did you hear any information about this "Stadio" brand?
    Thanks in advance!

What would you recommend for beginners a jazz guitar..
    Hollow body?
    Semi-hollow with center block?
    Any brand/model in particular?
Would really appreciate your input 👍

I’d go with a full hollow like the Ibanez AF. A full hollow body for me is more inspiring than a semi hollow with the center block if you go for straight ahead jazz

I have a Gretch G5422TDC for most styles and the bigsby. However, for jazz which doesn’t need a bigsby I switch to my Epihone Sheraton ii pro which also has the centre board for greater sustain. Although they have their differences, you could play either for all styles. 95% of the result is the player.

The Ibanez without a doubt ! haha ! Not in your face like the Gretsch, wouldnt be seen dead playing that in band ! Just says " Look at Me " ! haha ! Bit like a pimp wagon, sorry ! But they seemed to have stopped at the Fretboard which looks naff ! Maybe some ebony and inlays would have made the difference ! haha !

Hey 1950 called and said you can fix the bridge now!
A non secure bridge is a needless problem in this modern age. There is just 0 reason to leave that important piece loose.
