Yay! This was awesome. Looking at those products reminds me of the things my grandmother wore, especially the Pan Stik. I can just smell the Coty Airspun powder from here-love that rose/violet/iris combo. Also, Marilyn wore Yardley English Lavender. I think she discovered it in London when she was there filming The Prince and the Showgirl. You can still buy it today and it is still great.

Those products are fabulous. Thank you so much for letting us know these beauty products that used Marilyn Monroe, the goddess of Hollywood. Everybody loves Marilyn as far as I know, gentlemen as well as ladies. Thank you again, Laura !
Marilyn was born a brunette. She would have looked pretty with dark hair too. I wonder if Chanel No.5 smelled differently back in those days. Although it is a pleasant classic scent; it's too strong. It got me thinking if there was a body splash version of it. Perhaps that's what Marilyn used to pour on the bathwater.
@@jessiebaker9313 It is very unlikely to smell exactly the same. Many perfume houses had to change their formulas during the 80's as it became illegal to use certain ingredients. Obviously they matched as closely as possible, but it isn't exact.

Now Vaseline, that’s something I can afford. Too thick for around the eyes but I use it over the deepest areas where we crease as women. Revlon colorstay makes reflective powder and it’s ideal for a radiant complexion!! Marilyn would have loved it!!!

Have you put vaseline as a primer before? Because when I did, I broke out like crazy and my dermatologist said it wasn't something she'd recommend putting on as a primer. Especially on naturally oily skin. Then again, everyone's skin is different and it may very well be a wonderful product! Great video as always!
Private Donut I remember seeing an article where Joan Collins said she used haemmoroid cream on her face. I did that for a few years. I don’t think I would use Vaseline though.
I put Vaseline on my face once a day. It heals my break outs. During the war they used Vaseline on the wounds of the soldiers and by experience, it truly heals.
When my rosacea was at its worst and super dry I would put vaseline as a mask. It helped me A LOT. I guess for oily or normal skin type it will be waaay too much.
Petroleum jelly or petrolatum was discovered as a paraffin-like material coating oil rigs. Since then, it has been used in various ointments and as a lubricant. Here is a look at what petroleum jelly is and its chemical composition.
Besame cosmetics also made a replica of Marilyn's 1959 favorite red called, Red Hot Red. As a person who is really into reds, I own it and it wears well...also smells SO good.
My mother wore Max factor creme powder puff in candle glow, during the 80s & 90s. I was a kid, I remember the lovely smell of it & velvet smooth, takes me right back, and it was the first 'base' product I ever used as a teenager.

One of the Westmore brothers did her make-up for her funeral. He said her habit of slathering Vaseline on her skin had made her face really hairy. It's quite a well know fact that it seems to encourage hair rejuvenation - good for eyelashes and eyebrows. Nivea is wonderful, many beautiful women with good skin have used it for years.

Hi Laura Jane❣️ I have used a few of these products. I’ve used as a teen the Max Factor pan stick trying to cover my cystic acne on my face. I also wore for a while the Channel #5 perfume (it was a gift). I also used the cake mascara in the red box, it was my moms from years prior and I used it a few times to just see if it it worked with that little brush it had! I love your videos they’re so different and fun 🎃🍁🍂🌾
Hello Laura. Great vídeo. I used Max Factor pan stick when I was younger for photograph session (in black and white). Pardon I'm Spanish and my English is not so good I wish 🤭. I love this video. 💋💖. Congratulations.
Such a beautiful collection of [MM] beauty products; I remember seeing alot of those on my Gran's dressing table. Even I have some of those products today!
Nivea.... as a person with dry skin the winter it makes liquid glide on as if the skin is flawless glass. Depending on the amount of powder used it makes for a beautiful satin luminous finish. Amazing stuff.
I have recently started using my grandmothers beauty routine. 1. Remove eye makeup with baby oil 2. Wash face with ivory soap and a natural sponge. 3. For day, oil of Olay (yes the kind in the pink container not their modern line... the old school stuff). In winter she would put one drop of olive oil in with the oil of Olay. 4. On days when her skin was flaky after she took off her make up at night she would use a scrub made out of a combination of soap and sugar. 5. At night she would slather a combination of Vaseline with a drop or two of olive oil. 6. For pore minimizing She would occasionally whip up some egg whites and put that on her face then rinse it off and apply moisturizer. I have been following this routine now for about a year and my skin has never been better.
As Always, very interesting, Laura! I like Nivea and especially liked their oil to cream lotion which has been discontinued. The Max Factor and Elizabeth Arden makeup products I have also tried, but also find them to be quite heavy coverage- love those red lipsticks, too! ☺️💕💄‼️. I would like to see what Jaclyn Smith uses- I have an old beauty book about her, but wonder what products she uses!

Could you possibly do a video on Barbara Eden? My mom would always watch Tv land when I was growing up and I dream of Jeannie was one of my favorites! 💕🧞♀️
Do not put Vaseline on your face. Vaseline back then had less chemicals and more natural ingredients
I put Vaseline on my face once a day. It heals my break outs. During the war they used Vaseline on the wounds of the soldiers and by experience, it truly heals.
Private Donut I’ve been using it for years, it really helps the makeup stay on longer. Many women used it before “primer” was invented.
When my rosacea was at its worst and super dry I would put vaseline as a mask. It helped me A LOT. I guess for oily or normal skin type it will be waaay too much.
Very nice peace of work!!!🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌼🌼🌼🌼🌻🌻🌻🌻🌺🌺🌺🌺🌳🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
Petroleum jelly or petrolatum was discovered as a paraffin-like material coating oil rigs. Since then, it has been used in various ointments and as a lubricant. Here is a look at what petroleum jelly is and its chemical composition.
Fell in love with this vid!! You're so detailed with the products
I just love learning about all of these vintage beauty products. I also like to hear about the ones that are still available!!
Besame cosmetics also made a replica of Marilyn's 1959 favorite red called, Red Hot Red. As a person who is really into reds, I own it and it wears well...also smells SO good.
I love Marilyn too! It's such a tragedy what happened to her and you said it best the crime scene photos.
My mother wore Max factor creme powder puff in candle glow, during the 80s & 90s. I was a kid, I remember the lovely smell of it & velvet smooth, takes me right back, and it was the first 'base' product I ever used as a teenager.
Jai B I am 65 now and I used to use creme puff candle glow too, it really was a lovely product to use.
@@amandashare1281👍thanks for sharing, yes Lovely product. I'm tempted to buy once again, just to see how it fairs, & of course for nostalgia. ♥
I love MM pics, this is so interesting, I am starting my perfume collection too, I know MM liked Channel 5 and Vaseline, I use Vaseline too, it takes off eye make up too. Thank you.
I've been using Vaseline to remove eye makeup forever. I'm 59 in 3 days. Just starting to get a few wrinkles under my eye now but otherwise I'm very blessed
Laura, I heard that Marilyn wore Fire and ice from Revlon. I have used it. It is stunning
louise I was going to say the same!
is it a pinky red??
This was my Mom Favorite Color lipstick 💄 I kept it after she pasted away❤️😔 and also a Red one in a Beautiful Gold Case from Max Factor. I can just see her applying it
True red classic 💄
Makeup packaging was so beautiful back then
Estee Lauder has some pretty collectable compacts from time to time but they are pricey.
So glad to see Max factor back on store shelves. It was great makeup, I hope the formulation is the same. I have yet to try it, but going shopping soon!
Omgahhhh. These are epic. Thank you for this!
Awww such nostalgia watching this made me feel warm & fuzzy ☺️ thanks! 💄💋
Omg thank you so much i love this woman so much ♥️♥️
Agreed
If I put perfume in my bath water,
My skin would flare up the likes of which have never been seen.
Or screw up your PH balance and get a stank crotch....
I never take a bath but I've sprayed perfume before taking a shower just to smell good.
Putting in perfume in a bathtub doesn’t seem like too good of an idea but show gels could be a nice alternative

Exactly….it’s like, “Try some Chanel perfume in the tub!” Brought to you by the makers of Monistat.
Thank you, Laura. I love everything Marilyn! I have the Nivea Creme. It's very rich.
Wonderful; thank you so much! I am such a fan of Marilyn and all her lovely ways. I loved both your videos re: her various vintage beauty products!
Marilyn used the Active Phelityl cream at night, the “Phelityl Night cream” wasn’t introduced until modern day.
During college years I started to be interested in MM.. my life was totally silent & empty and my mini laptop i had was My only source of entertainment since my life was very basic during day am in college and during night after studying on my bed just googling some MM stuff!
I remember that i used to see in detail Marilyn’s dress and outfits and surely her makeup!
I remember I liked the Erno bottle but I didn’t know it was a cleanser! I thought it was a big foundation creme which i would like it like this!
I think a vintage makeup packaging is lovely
Am definitely gonna try some these stuff and i hope some of the are still available
1-CHANEL N5
2-FlorisLonden
3-Anita of Denmark Day Dew foundation (as u mentioned it can be a concealer or some amount for foundation coverage) 😍
4-Elizabeth Arden Pat a Creme
5-ERNO Laszlo creme
6-ERNO Laszlo pre-Cleansing oil
vaseline breaks me out, but aquaphor never does and works just as well. I even sleep in it when my skin is too dry.
Oh really Vaseline works for very well I thought it would have suited everyone
You are so underrated.
Love your video's!!👍😊😆
Love Marilyn and enjoyed your video Laura. Thankyou. ☺❤⚘
This is Amazing so excited 😍 Tfs 💕😘
One of the Westmore brothers did her make-up for her funeral. He said her habit of slathering Vaseline on her skin had made her face really hairy. It's quite a well know fact that it seems to encourage hair rejuvenation - good for eyelashes and eyebrows. Nivea is wonderful, many beautiful women with good skin have used it for years.
@@ritagarcez6590 My grandma too used only nivea and her skin was great even in her 80s
@@ritagarcez6590 My niece works as a nurse in a German hospital, and she said the elderly women with the most beautiful wrinkle free skin use Nivea cream. The German version is different from the Nivea sold here and produced in Mexico.
That’s it I’m buying that now my moisturiser just gives me a breakout
@Blonde Enigma Allan Snyder did her makeup for her funeral... He was her makeup artist & did her makeup thru her career & her funeral......
@@PrincessThicc it must have been so heartbreaking
Your 50s looking nails are great!!💅
Hi Laura ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 thankyou for my videos ....Love Marilyn xxxx soo much have all her books and videos xxx
This channel is where I found out about erno laszlo cleanser and I will never use anything else. It’s the best for my skin. Thank you!!
This is unbelievably awesome!! The work and research you do is jaw dropping. Thank you for all you do. I love this! 💖💖💋
Very cool & insightful video!! I love Marilyn!
Products that stand the test of time. I ordered Max Facror replica Marilyn lipsticks. Love love!
Great film Laura. I have a pan stick that I use as a concealer
One of the most beautiful and classic women of all time, Ms. Monroe (Norma Jean)... May you always rest in heavenly peace💋♥️🥰
I have used Erno Lazlo since I was 17. My mom discovered these fantastic products. My skin is really nice. Thanks for sharing 💋❤️✌🏻
Thank you! For presenting monroe's make up.
I love them! Wonderful.
I always used the cake mascara 50 years ago. Wonder if anyone still makes it.
I love Marilyn so much. Such a beautiful icon ❤️
I love this. I would love if you did Audrey Hepburn 🥰
I have recently started using my grandmothers beauty routine.
1. Remove eye makeup with baby oil
This was very interesting to know what products she used. Thanks for sharing. New Subscriber. I love some of those packages, so beautiful!!!
I find Max Factor foundations/products and Elizabeth Arden products to have very heavy coverage too I've noticed.
I never knew she used nivea. Iconic. Xx I use nivea ❤❤❤❤
