Poor dude. I feel his pain. Been in corporate America nearing 20 years now and the landscape is just getting harder and harder. The level of toxicity is through the roof and laying on zero loyalty from employers, I don’t think too many people are happy at their job. One just needs to learn to cope.
I quit a "great opportunity" 3 months in and went back to hourly retail. The boss at the "great job" was an absolute narcissist and psychopath. I was very happy back in retail which gave me the time to find another job that fit my skills.
Left a job 3 years ago and regret it. Despite my new job being higher paying, more flexible, and less physical work, I just dont feel any joy with the job I have now. Im stuck in an office and wish I could be doing something else. I was literally praying about what I should do. Financially my family can survive even if I didnt work and I have other sources of income. I just cant bring myself to changing even tho it feels like Im slowly going insane at my current job.
There is no amount of money that you can earn that’s worth your sanity or your soul. Sometimes it’s about finding the courage to say “enough”. Wish you the best.
He's probably working for the wrong guy. A leader would never say you're not the right guy and shove you asside. He would teach you how to be the right guy
Am 36 have about 32k in credit debt and been thinking of leaving job of 17 years and sell my stock that company gave me to pay off the debt and get a new job. Don’t know if that’s the right move.
Yes selling the stock to pay off the credit card debt is exactly what you should do. Credit card interest compounds monthly and its high. Is your stock increasing in value 20% every month like your credit card balance? Probably not. Sell it now and pay it off.
@@Bradimoosethe only way I can sell is I would have to leave the job to be able to sell the stock because it’s a stock the company gives you for being employed by them. Still leave and take money to pay debt?
@@Newbecollector if you like the job and you’re paid well then there’s no reason to leave just to pay off the debt work budget and figure out how you’re going to get out of debt in the next 18 months
@@Newbecollector You must be making alot of money for the company to be giving you $30,000 in stock. Usually there is a holding period and after that you can sell it. Since you aren't working for minimum wage I'd get your budget together and start paying off the credit card.
My life brought me to Oman into an office, where I sit everyday for 8 hours virtually doing almost nothing, surrounded by Arabic culture where this is a norm - to sit around doing nothing and get $100k+ a year. Don't ask why and how I did it. Anyway, I am just piling up cash. In one year I will be gone, and I will die if I stay here for 2 or 3 years more. I mean, never betray your dreams. If you need a financial cushion, stay where you are for a year or so, but then burn all bridges knowing that you have cash for 6 months of active job hunting.

Put that energy into your family life. Church life. Be thankful for the extra resources to improve other faucets of life.

Higher pay, but what's the price of your sanity?

I have a great job that I started 4 years ago, but the job is getting harder and I'm so tired. I work at a university.
Dude might want to be an engineer if hes serious about wanting to avoid boredom/staleness.
