At the end of our commercial season, all my reels are stripped of line before I Service them for the winter . Then I spool new backing and line at the beginning of our next season. Trust me you will much more confidence in your terminal tackle for your next fishing season .
Thanks for the video, helped me fix the couch disengaging - but despite that now I have a new “sound” that comes with turning the handle. Seems to Come from the pinion gear. Any ideas what I might have missed ?
That's hard to say. I would go back and compare your work against the thematic to make sure that the reel has been assembled properly and that all parts are properly seated. - Dennis
I just dont understand why guys dont strip their line at the end of the season. Sometimes I change my line 2 or 3 times during the season to be sure I don't lose that fish of a lifetime. Line is cheap! Dont be a cheap fisherman and you'll make Dennis life much easier.

I suspect that the spring is not installed properly or that the dog tip is worn and not connecting with the gear sleve insets.
