Awesome! Love how hardy these fish are. I just put them in my pond and let em do their thing. Never need to feed em or anything and they do great, even with sub zero winters!
I know they went in a pond this looks very well kept with my goldfish tank I have 5 goldfish in a 120 gallon tank they're fancy ones and I do weekly gravel cleaning every 3 weeks I clean filtration and 50 percent 1 a week of water it's so rewarding when you look after them
Thank you MTW these fish are so abused I give them to my daughter when I leave to winter from n.y. to Florida. They see me and almost jump out of the tank. They have great personalities I grew very close to mine. People don’t realize how beautiful they develop. Yes I have them in Florida also in my linai in door pond. My son takes care of them for me.😍👍. Al
Nice fish... I bought these comet goldfish + koi last year about 2-3 inch big. They are little smaller compare to yours. But I have them in 2500-3000 gals pond with other koi. Koi about 3 inch but one just outgrow than others. Comet goldfish already had babies fish as well. It's relax to watch them!
I dont have an answer for this, honestly.. not without some research. If I were you, I would call the pet store, or a koi/pond supplier for advice. It may have something to do with water quality, or oxygen levels. Do you have a bubbler? Have you treated the water appropriately for your fish? - thats where I would start. Educate yourself about goldfish care! ♡ good luck with your fish baby!
those fishes looked well feeded , But 55 gallons stills very small considering the size of them , they need more space , at least 100 gallons , good luck
the white one looks some inactive , but overall all looks healthy , the only thing is that they need more space to explore thats it and makes more exercise
Do you ever get any algae build up on your glass? I'm pretty impressed by how clear your water is. Are you part of the facebook group "Goldfish Keepers"??
Mark Goldfishna yes I certainly did get an algae film on the glass.. it is a sign of health within the system. my water changes increased as the fish grew, but always I made the change once a week (until they got too big and the water needed to be changed every 5 days) During the water change, I would use a rubber squeegee to clean the glass.. and rub away any buildup with my fingertips that the squeegee missed. The fish have since gone to live in a pond, but I did enjoy caring for them. I will join this group =] thankyou. Perhaps I can pass some knowledge on. Not enough people are educated about how to care for their fish. I encountered my own set of unique problems, as everyone does.
I have a few 7-9 inch gold fish in a 100 gallon stock tank and they love it! Super cool to see them so clearly through glass. I hardly ever get to appreciate my fish in the stock tank but they are super healthy. I am going to just DYI a viewing screen in the side I think! Super cool video thanks for sharing.
I just bought three feeder goldfish. T Hey were 39c each! They are literally the size of my baby finger. These guys look HUGE compared to my three little guys. I will upload a video of them soon. I can't wait until they get this big though. I think it's supposed to be 10 gallons per goldfish right? Meaning I have to upgrade them to at least a 36 gallon tank. Anyways, nice video.
Obi1Goosie2043 you need 30 gallons plus 17 gallons for each one after for common and comet goldfish(feeder fish) They need more room than fancy varieties.
I would imagine they have a similar lifespan... Google likely knows better than me, but if I recall, 10 years is about average. And it seems like the half way mark is approximately full grown.
majortomswife true. And do you know how comets are created in the US? The old breeders crossing the ryukin and the prussian carp to create a single, long tailed goldfish. A popular myth states the comet is a mutation from a common goldfish.
I recently got a small comet goldfish and I really would like for it to grow to a nice size. like the ones in this video. Does anyone have tips on how I can make this happen? it is currently about 1 inch and is in a 3 gallon tank. I know it will need a larger tank, but my mom is only allowing me to upgrade as it grows, because larger tanks are expensive.
Good food and great water condition will allow it to grow bigger, but It probably won't get too much larger in a 3 gallon. It most likely wouldn't live longer than a year or two either. Ultimately, it will probably need a 40 gallon tank at least, just because they get so long it'll be hard for it to turn around in anything smaller. You can get a tank less expensively through sites like craigslist. You will also find a larger tank easier to maintain because you don't have to change the water as often.
aw man. so ultimately would it just be better for my fish for me to just release it in a nearby lake or something? because I want it to live a good life, but I'm soon going to college and it wouldn't be that reasonable to my mother to keep a 20+ gallon tank for one small goldfish
I agree with you, and thought the same. The video was originally put up labeled "Comets". I had many people disagreeing, so I changed it.. They were collected from a pet store feeder tank. Perhaps a cross breed? Thank you for you comment ♡
+Forestad20 I raised three of them up from inch long babies. 3 years to get to nearly 10 inches. The gold toned fish (Sherman) was a "rescue". But roughly the same age and size as my own fish.
Just over time I guess. I'd bet their diet didn't hurt at all either.. freeze dried shrimp, algae pucks, and cooked peas (popped from their skins --- read about this beforehand if you intend to try it, I'd hate for anyone to hurt their fish---) as treats.. They also had live plants to nibble at.
+Jasmine Summers they did.. originally in a 30+ gallon.. until they were about 4 inches. Then I bought the 55 gallon. They sure grow fast... How big/old is your goldfish?
Vivek Keviv love and care.. and education. you definitely need to know HOW to care for them. You need to want to know what is best for them, and find out. So I suggest reading and reading, and cross referencing. (I geek out on everything I try.) And if you have problems that are beyond reading, seek out a professional. Keeping fish healthy and happy isn't hard, its a little work and a lot of satisfaction. Like any pet. I had the fish from "feeder" size, up until they were 10 inches from lip to tail tip. At that point the maintenance of the tank was beginning to escape me, as at that size they produce a lot of waste which makes their environment toxic. It was time to go live in a pond.
Vivek Keviv I have uploaded a video showing the size they were when I got them.. so from October 2012 to May 2014.. I'd say just about 2 years old in this video.
Goldfish love company... Please get him a friend...be prepared to put them in a pond eventually... Check out Pond guru on you tube... goldfish need double the filtration...
Yes! Males will display small bumps on their gills when they reach maturity.. have to look a bit closely to see. I observed what I thought was a pretty aggressive chasing behaviour, and then discovered the physical trait. So cool! The pale orange fish, and the mostly white one, are the males. They would chase the girls around trying to get them to release eggs! Thank you for your question!
These fish went to live in a pond.. I haven't followed up in the past year. Mainly because I got bad news last time I checked in.. LAST I HEARD........ Unfortunately a Blue Heron attempted to pluck Sushi (white mottled with red) from her pond and FATALLY injured her, though her new keeper did her best with a hospital tank. :( The keeper also lost one of her own during said Heron attack. :( I'd like to assume the rest live on in the beautiful pond I saw pictures of, being "wild" fish for the rest of their natural lives. Soon after sending my fish away to a better life, I sold my tank and all accessories for super cheap. I'd love to do it again one day. Next time with a larger tank, or a pond of my own. It was an educational and rewarding experience. Thank you so much for inquiring. I wish there wasn't a sad ending for Sushi. But I was told she was a real jumper.. which doesn't surprise me. At least she got to be in a large pond for some time.. Eating real bugs and everything! Most feeder fish don't get the chance, right.. Cheers.
majortomswife you should need a 200 gallon tank or maybe more than three 75 gallon aquaria(plural for aquarium). Like most people think, outside world is bad for pets. Next time, try buying the junior breeding kit of 8 inch Goldfish, about ten of them from livefeederfish. About over a hundred bucks, and you are good!
Do a update its overstocked but they are fat and healthy and not in a bowl so its fine. They are almost full size. Thats a good size clearly the fish will last you a good 15 years "UPDATE"

Bob Tim same to comets. Comets and commons have blunt heads too. Every goldish have different faces. Anyways, both common and comet grow over 10-12 inches. Difference is that comets have long fins, and streamlined body shape. Common goldfish are broad and wide.
"Julie shutup!"

I hope mine could grow ip to be this big too
They sure are my arowana and bass love eating these whole
Yes, I love all types of Goldfish
@@itroll8638 bro feeder goldfish dont have nutrients for crap
What do you mean "very little modification?" Do you mean they haven't been changed by breeders and they've stayed the same?

It really is rewarding. Just watching them grow and thrive.. Observing their different personalities is an absolute joy
I have 8 in a 20 gallon daily vacuum filter cleaning and other maintenance
I still come to this video for a good laugh sometimes 😂😂
LOL you are fantastic!
They are gorgeous!! 👍🏻😊
They’re very cute and lovely when they’re this big and chubby

Obi1Goosie2043 they're 15c here in Texas
Are they alive
there are ok 2 comets in a 11 gallon tank? they are little, like 4-5 centimeters
Def no
Temporarily if you have a lot of filtration (undergravel + hang on back) and real plants. But plan to upgrade them in a year or so

You should NEVER release a fish into a lake. You can just give the commet to the store if you cant get a bigger tank.
Shainya Frazier feed it a lot
sooooo cute

Them being that big shows you took good care f them but isn't that tank a little small for how big they are now and how many of them there are??
