Its really as simple as BUYING GAMES that fixes, or at least helps this issue. Subscription model for games is just cannibalising the industry.
I’d agree if we didn’t see the leaks last year from Sony where we can see selling it for $70 is barely making a profit either.
The thing with game pass will keep fans happy as they get brand new game day1 but if day 1 is costing the company profits they need to change it business wise it sucks that to take the fall will be the studios. The fans are to focus on players played but how much of those players actually paid for the game. If the games dont produce DLC how does it make profit. The people at fault is the management at XBOX.
I recently got rid of my Xbox Series S so I'd say so. And i dont think I'll be getting an Xbox next generation after not caring for the One or Series as much as I did the 360
Relying on microtransactions and DLC actually has a consequence of turning people away! Wow!!
Yes. Well... "Day 1 on GamePass" is a failure. Having legacy games and even indie games day 1 is great, especially if their cut would easily exceed revenue from direct sales. But there is NO way GamePass cut would exceed revenue sales for a quality and highly anticipated AAA title. Even HiFi Rush a AA title... so "4 Million" people played it thanks to Game Pass. But they would have likely been better off with 200K sales at $40 a pop.
yeah lmao. the games industry is famously volatile and gamers are notoriously fickle. it is literally impossible for microsoft to dominate like netflix because it has never been easier to develop games, the barrier of entry is almost nonexistent. so long as there are also many ways to distribute games, including with steam, then something like gamepass is pointless especially if they cant produce the amount of content like netflix does to justify subscribing. microsoft expects to make all of their money back from those massive acquisitions with just world of warcraft. microsoft knows that no amount of money can guarantee a game will be successful so they arent even bothering anymore when things like lethal company or vampire survivors exist
Hifi rush was my game of the year. Unique fun experience. I played on gamepass. Was going to get ps5 version but not anymore since it wont help them.
Yes fuck it
Why are you guys running the ads twice in these cutdown highlights. It makes it feel like these are just straight grabs for Ad space instead of tailoring content to your community.
But I guess that’s the trend these days anyway. SMH
One word GACHA, putting Triple A gacha games on console is a smart way to recoup some money. PlayStation and Xbox can publish mobile games. I only played Genshin and HSR on PlayStation and only spend money through PSN.
Why do producers focus on market trends instead of setting trends for the market to follow.
Let’s never listen to our audience and make some very poor decisions and beg for you to come to the Ecosystem and spend your money for an empty experience
highlights shouldn't be more than 30 min guys...
No it’s not a failure.
It is a failure
Sorry, mate.
But it clearly is in a corporate sense.
Great for consumers, tho.
Turns out the too good to be true price was indeed to good to be true. Eventually someone has to pay and it turned out there was interest and it cost 4 studios. Yeah no thanks I’ll pay full price for quality games and keep funding studios. Keep your cheap subscription service and sub par games, it’s working out very well so far.
@@basementality4924 indeed
If a studio like Tango can have a huge hit like Hi-Fi Rush skyrocket on game pass and STILL get shutdown, then it’s not a success.
The game pass business model always seemed unsustainable to me.
Fitting that PlayStation had a bad weekend PR wise and now KF is doing everything it can to turn the attention to Xbox..
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Xbox is doing everything it can to turn the attention to Xbox.
Xbox situation is worst right now.
That’s comparing apples and oranges. Sony issue is no where near as bad what Microsoft did
Love it when game "journalists" act like they got a MBA. 🤪
