What can I say other than I loved the Jim Henson Exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image? It has Sesame Street, The Muppets and many other properties that Jim Henson contributed to! There were even items from Labyrinth, Fraggle Rock and The Dark Crystal among other things like his early TV and commercial work!
What's your favorite part of the exhibit? For me it was seeing the full sized Big Bird and seeing Waldorf and Statler with an honorable mention to Uncle Traveling Matt!

Took my husband here for his birthday back in 2018 as a surprise. It was absolutely incredible to see this exhibit and is really well made. We also love Emmett Otter's Jug Band! Always on our Christmas Playlist. Somewhere I've always wanted to go and haven't been even though I've been living in MD now for 11 years is to The University of Maryland to see his statue and memorial garden. One day!

I dont't have to imagine being a kid and seeing a skesis cause it happened to me! Its wasn't the 80s but I saw Dark Crystal as a kid and I was quite freaked out by a lot of it. The bit where the leader like disintegrates was the most creepy to me.

Yes that leader part was awful 😅

Henson was a fan of pre-recorded puppetry. They would basically lip sync to music and what not.

I think I saw a few of them (like the Grinch and Horton) in the 2011 documentary ‘Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey’
So my guess is that they were probably stored away in one of the Muppets’ warehouses
I don’t know if they’re still there though
