Ed is the reason I went vegan and that was 7.5 years ago. I've slowly grown to learn from Ed to be an effective activist - as I've always been soft spoken, calm, and scientifically oriented myself. However a vast majority of people will hear all the facts, the best arguments, the reality of dairy / eggs / maceration / standard practices, they'll truly comprehend animal suffering, and still continue to choose it anyway. There's a lot of indifference and apathy in the world. It's not even cognitive dissonance, it's understanding the reality & still choosing to be utilitarian and indifferent anyway. Every family gathering, my family who have heard all the arguments, and even watched the footage - will spend the entire gathering talking about "The meat is just dripping off the bone", "The goat just melts in your mouth", "The turkey is so good, I just want to nap after"... One event they were bragging about the strangest meats they've had, and there was camel, horse, rabbit, crocodile, and even dog (my uncle had it in Nagaland, India). I've become a recluse, and I prefer it that way. Ed is a legend, and I don't know how he doesn't burnout having put himself in all these situations. What a great conversation, and host for creating so much room for him to keep speaking without interruption.

Unfortunatelly I share your story. I envy you your patience and calm. I just hate being obliged during family gatherings to watch them devouring animals' flesh. I literally can't stand it. I feel like I am suffering with all of these beautiful sentient creatures tortured and killed for their pleasure. I feel so helpless...

Once all the human population goes vegan there won’t be any cows on the planet. Cows are a human “construct” so to speak.

    Hello ,
It breaks my heart when I think of how many animals have been unnecessarily killed for our 15 minutes of pleasure over the many many decades .
It also breaks my heart to think of the many more animals who will be killed over the next many decades .
As compassionate Vegans , all we can do is educate and hope that the seeds will be planted in future generations as only they will have the means to stop this horrendous acts of cruelty , suffering and killings .
Finally , sometimes I think that if there were Aliens out there in the Universe , what they must think of the human being species and what unnecessary pain we inflict on all sentient animals …no wonder they would dare try to connect with us …maybe for the reason that we might even eat them too to make a buck !!! Haha !!!
    Take care

I stopped the video to disagree a little bit with the rebuttal of the almond-bees argument.
    1. First, my own problem with California almonds. He said we don't need to buy almonds from California. Well I agree for the almond milk, but I don't care about the milk. I want to eat almonds (relatively cheap nuts). And the Cheapest place I found them, the almonds were from California - I was Fucking Shocked.
In other places the almonds are NOT affordable for me and... And they are most probably also from california. So, not a very good situation for me personally.
    2. The alfalfa argument is not the best too. If somebody says: "The milk I buy is by cows fed with wheat or soy or grass (NOT alfalfa)". Then what, should I drink the same milk, because I hurt LESS Bees?
It's not about what meat-eaters do wrong. It's about what Vegans do wrong in this case - Should we eat almonds or not!
    3. The most Important. Let's change the system and to use Wild Bess/Pollinators. I may be wrong, but this sounds Stupid.
The reason Vegans are blamed about bees is, because bees are dying from Pesticides! There can be other causes like mites - it doesn't matter. California also kills them with Pesticides.
So, Why should I care if I kill Honey Bees or Wild Bees with the Pesticides- NO Difference at all?!?
    4. Just a Bonus. I think bees can be killed for Any human plant food, that needs Pollination. And Everywhere in the World. Again because of Pesticides. There in no Country that can Guarantee they don't use pesticides that kill Bees. Only if you know the farm yourself. So, I can't know how many bees dye in Italy or Spain for the production of Almonds!
(Ok, still better Not to buy Almonds from California.... If you have the Chance!)
We just need to change the Pesticides or whatever - we need a real Vegan Solution!

  • @Yavor-Karapetrov

I have big doubts about lab grown meat (or cultured or whatever). Because if we still use animals, which is the case, then we don't necessarily know the consequences, if this is world wide spread. We still will have some farming system in a relatively large scale. So, can we predict with certainty what will happen to animals?
And what about old animals - if it turns around, that their cells are not suitable to create good meat? Then it would be financially inefficient to keep them alive... so would they be slaughtered or what?
I am against lab grown meat. It could potentially cause problems for the Animals and we don't need it!

    • @CaroAbebe
      @CaroAbebe 7 месяцев назад +1

The goal would certainly have to be not to use animals for this or any purpose. I still wouldn’t want to eat meat, but if there was a real scientific breakthrough I’d be happy for everyone who still wants to have meat, but more importantly, for the animals.

Would you still not support other people eating lab grown meat if say we kill 1 trillion animals per year with the current system and with lab grown we'd kill 10 million per year. That would be a massive shift even if its not fully vegan its still a huge step. Ideally we'd want a fully vegan world but if the options are killing 1 trillion or killing 10 million I'd choose the 10 million even though 0 would be even better.
