- Chapter 13 of Heir to the Empire, by Timothy Zahn. Adapted into a short fanfilm.
The Rebel Alliance has destroyed the Death Star, defeated Darth Vader and the Emperor, and driven the remnants of the old Imperial Starfleet to a distant corner of the galaxy.
Princess Leia and Han Solo are married and expecting Jedi twins. And Luke Skywalker has become the first in a long-awaited line of Jedi Knights.
But thousands of light-years away, the last of the Emperor's warlords has taken command of the shattered Imperial fleet, readied it for war, and pointed it at the fragile heart of the New Republic....

Looking forward to it. Thirty years now that Heir to the Empire has been out. It is good that it is finally getting a film adaptation, even if it is unofficial.

The infighting between Thrawn and C'baoth is one of many brilliantly imagined and executed elements in the Zahn books, and @DarthAngelus really nails that in this chapter
Another reason to look forward to May 4th
And here we once more see a facet of what makes Thrawn one of the greatest leaders of the Empire; he takes input from subordinates, and then adapts it into his own greater overall strategy. I'm looking forward to when he will met with the main heroes directly.

One has to wonder if Thrawn already had that in mind and simply said what he said knowing Pellaeon would suggest keeping Skywalker alive temporarily just so he could boost his confidence and inspire loyalty by making it appear he was taking his suggestion when in fact he was intending to do that all along.
@@rainkloud ; That is a viable possibility.
He was adamant that his Empire was going to be different from Palpatine's Empire. His empire was not going to be so top heavy and could survive the death of its leaders. He would not rule through fear and would instill a spirit of cooperation. Subordinates would be killed only when necessary instead of at the whim of a Dark Lord.
I wonder if Thrawn's Empire would have had use of what eventually became the Imperial Knights, or Imperial Jedi. Neither Light or Dark users, firm but not evil or overly indulgent, capable of handling themselves and devoted to their leader above all else.
God, I can’t wait until the 3rd act!! Once Luke goes to Jomark and is pulled out of light speed by the Interdictor, the book is hard to put down, can’t wait to see how you adapt it!!

Truly I say this, that this is without a smidge of a doubt one of the best fan projects dedicating to Star Wars. In fact, I have no doubt that once completed (as in the potential trilogy IF so chosen to be completed), it would be so artistically done!

Damn, that Grand Admiral Thrawn is truly an awesome & incredible boss. He's so charismatic, intelligent, cunning, ambitious, patient, somewhat honorable, & a total bad@#$. A gifted, unique, & worthy adversary. It's a shame he was killed off in the Legends continuity. It's be awesome if we could see more of him in the Star Wars films or tv shows. He has a unique cunning habit of keeping you guessing on what he's gonna do next. That's Grand Admiral Thrawn for you!
I suspect Thrawn would have lived if they had thought the Expanded Universe would grow beyond this initial trilogy.
@@DarthAngelus he did come back briefly in the hand of Thrawn set four years after his "death" but was killed again by the now grandmaster Luke

The actual comment is about Heir to the Empire being celebrated , and not the Star Wars : The New Hope. Been there done that ! This suppose to be a Free Country if you want to celebrate The Star Wars The New Hope , then do it. To each his own.

It’s easy to forget how eerie his eyes are when reading the books, and it’s an aspect I REALLY hope they include in live action. It did make me internally chuckle a little when he stood over Jorj Car’das in the dark in Outbound Flight. Oh that would give me a damned heart attack. Just imagining waking up to disembodied glowing red eyes looming over you (and who tf stands over someone in the dark in their sleep? This guy’s a weird one).
It’s so great to see REAL Star Wars! The quality of this animation is ASTOUNDING, and the voice acting is on-point! Grand Admiral Thrawn is the perfect Star Wars villain, because we are all secretly rooting for him as well as the heroes. Well-done, Sir.

Apparently he was on the cover of the first book instead of Thrawn in its original release.
They're both on it, although Thrawn is kinda small and to the side.
He certainly… elicits a response, which I suppose is the sign of a good character. The last thing you want is for people to not care either way about the people you’ve created. That being said, he drove me absolutely nuts when I first encountered him in Outbound Flight, and if I were Thrawn, I’d be internally screaming the entire time I had to deal with him.

Damn, the animation got a lot better. The shadows on Pallaeons face look amazing. Not to speak of the Chimera over Niklon. That will be my new wallpaper..

The opening shot with the space fog and Star Destroyer was impressive. Let's see more of that look and feel.
That's actually a photo I took last summer. The clouds were in a very unusual formation and I thought it would be perfect for the Nkkllon scenes :D

Please add English subtitles. It’s very helpful for not native English speakers to understand the content of the movie. Just by listening I am able to understand only 60% of the content but with subtitles (not auto-generated!) it’s about 95% in my case.

The Chimaera is wrong. Legends Chimaera was an ISD 2 not one. And it didn't have that stupid arse engraving on the bottom.

Yeah, that's not how I normally sound. I can't keep up his gruffness for long though. It should but it's easier to make Thrawn interact with the Ysalamiri when he's holding it.
@@DarthAngelus Oh, that was YOU! When I said a different voice, I meant a different voice actor. I always imagine the Imperial Admirals to be stiff British voices (like in the movies)
