I keep making this recipe (super awesome!) thought I'd type out the ingredients here for everyone: 170g unsalted butter 200g chocolate (chopped into chunks) Unknown quantity of macadamia nuts! 280g of packed light brown sugar 225g plain flour 1 tsp baking powder 0.5 tsp salt 2 large eggs 1 tbsp vanilla extract Bake at 170C for 28-35 minutes
170g butter (browned) 280g light brown sugar 2 eggs whisked 1 tbsp vanilla extract 225g flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2tsp salt 100g milk chocolate 100g white chocolate Preheat oven to 170° Bake for 28-35 minutes until the centre is a little wet but not runny
Using brown butter is a stroke of genius. I'm already salivating at the thought of the additional depth of flavor that lends to the blondie. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve made this recipe twice now but I use 100g milky bar and 100g Galaxy and they are amazing. I’ve made them for my girlfriend and I got major points there as she loves blondies. Brilliant recipe and the blondies are so smooth and buttery and chocolatey.
I made these over the weekend and they came out fantastic. I have never made or eaten a blondie so I wasn't sure what I was in for. The only thing I did different was substituted dried cranberries in place of the regular chocolate. These things were amazing. Great recipe that I'm sure I'll make many more times.
hands down best blondies I have ever had. I make this all the time! but i avoid the macadamia nuts but it is still so delicious! my family loves them so much! the burnt butter takes this recipe to whole another LEVEL!
Thank you Jemma! I was intimidated when I hear blondies because it seemed complicated. But I was happy to stumble on your recipe and I have made this 4 times now. My family loves it! Thank you for your no fuss and AWESOME recipes!
i made these with a combination of dark brown & granulated sugar (reduced the total quantity too), and substituted to walnuts. it was soo good!! it's so fudgy, soft and chewy 🤤 officially my go-to recipe for blondies now!
I made these last week and they were so phenomenal. I couldn't stop eating them..it was a huge problem lol. My boyfriend likes baked goods but he isn't crazy about them UNTIL I made these. They were chewy, but soft and gooey. The burnt butter really made a huge difference in the taste. So in love. My best friend is coming to visit me next week and i will definitely be making these for her. Thank you for the recipe!! LOVE IT
"Please make this blondie." Done and done. Seriously, I have one in the oven right now. I was making these like a mad woman a few months ago... then my oven mysteriously broke from over usage (the heating coil burnt out). Probably for the best- these things are amazing. I stuff myself silly whenever I make them.
Gonna make this recipe this weekend again for the 3rd time in 3 weeks :D My boyfriends loves them, everyone who tried them was OBSESSED, they are THAT good! Last time I may have added some crumbled Biscoff cookies + plus some spread in the mix and on top - heavenly!!
tried making these for the first time today and they turned out super good! i would reduce the amount of sugar next time since i found it too sweet for my liking. i also had to bake it for 45 minutes instead of 35 minutes.
The Name of this recipe is basically true... they are perfect! Made twice the amount for superbowl night and ate like half of it by myself... they are sooooooo good!!! and so simple... Thanks a lot!
Omggggg after gathering all my courage I tried this receipe and guess whatttt it came out soooo delicious 🤩🤩 but my batter was little thick so I added 2tblspns of milk and it was perfect . Thank you so such delicious recipes
Hi! Jemma... I made it for last Christmas, even 2x recipes - with different topping ( choco chips and roasted almonds) And it was a HIT!! Like .. they couldn't stop eating!! I haven't had a taste yet... LOL Thanks a million!! xoxo
I made this yesterday and shared with my friends!! It was a bomb!!! So good!!! The smell from toasted butter is really great with vanilla flavour!!! Recommend this blondes for everybody's repertoire!! Thank for sharing Jemma!!!
Just made them. They are delicious..Brown butter gives it a good flavor. I added 250g light brown sugar instead of 280g and still feel it's little sweet for my taste.Still love it though. Thanks for sharing
Decades ago, a lady gave a recipe for Blondies. When I made a batch, it was horribly dry because she’d omitted the 2 eggs from the recipe! I’m definitely making this, soon and often. TFS
Thank you Jemma for this brilliant recipe. I made it yesterday as a present for my granny's birthday, it's delicious! so awesome, tasty and easy recipe, I loved it)) And thank for all the videos and everything you do, it's really inspiring ^^
I see a lot of comments asking "Can I get away without adding this or can I add something different?" The answer is, generally, yes. The joy of cooking at home is making things the way you want. So if you don't like or are allergic to nuts, leave em out. If you only have salted butter and don't feel like making an extra trip to the store, use the salted butter and skip the pinch of salt at the end. If you don't like white chocolate, only put in milk chocolate, or vice versa. Heck, if you're bold, try throwing in some dark chocolate chunks and see what happens. Or, don't put anything. It's up to you.
i used 250g of brown sugar instead but it is still really sweet (maybe bcs asians dont eat much sweet foods) but the texture is great! thank you jemma.
Hey Jenna, I would absolutely LOVE to make these today! Please tell me what chocolate to use. Are we going for a melty gooey chocolate when baked, or a choc chip kinda thing. And if you know what Lindt (lindor) chocolate is can I use that? Please please respond!
Jemma please tell us what type of vanilla u use it looks nice and thick and it even has the little black specks or did u make it homemade because i would love to know the recipe!
Pretty certain it's a vanilla bean paste, rather than the more water like consistency extract. I use both for different reasons, but the paste is more intense in odour/flavour, so is prefect for these Blondies. You can get the paste in larger supermarkets, or simply Google it. Not hard to find I don't think :)
If you search the interwebs for Nielsen Massey Vanilla Bean Paste, you'll find the product most used by pastry chefs-and myself. That's exactly how it pours out of the jar. It's possible but highly unlikely that it's homemade. :)
Minnah Ayman Homemade, most often is simply vanilla beans/seeds, slowly infused in a strong alcohol (vodka, bourbon, etc.) over long periods. This results in something that looks, more or less, like the typical extract you see in stores. Vanilla paste, is something I've only seen from specialty purveyors. Nielsen Massey is most definitely what that is...I use it myself and its definitely worth the searching and money.
You can get really good quality vanilla extract in shops, it's just that little bit more expensive. I use the Nielsen Massey vanilla extract (from the UK)
Made this and it tasted really good! However, it's a bit too sweet for me so maybe next time I'll cut down the amount of chocolate (and also so that it'll be less gooey).
that looks pretty amazing!!! definately on my to do list!! :-) could you use dried raspberries instead of the milk chocolate?? and maybe instead of the macadamia nuts, some walnuts??
Loving your videos am always looking forward to your new recipes and this recipe is wonderful I made it today and it's heaven on my mouth love too see if you can do red velvet cupcakes I want to surprise my fiancé with this in his birthday please please help me!!!
Hi Jemma, I've tried your half and half blondie/brownie at crumbs and doilies and they were amazing! How would I make it cos the timings for both those recipes are different and also in terms of layering, not sure how to do it!
Love the recipe Jemma but a little sweet. If I reduce the sugar to 250g do I need to adjust the butter and flour? I like to reduce the butter a little if possible?
I made them today, and they tasted amazing!! I didn't put macadamia nuts in them, though, I did put some cinnamon apples and dark chocolate in them, and they turned out so delicious! :3 Thank you for these amazing recipes! (I keep making your banana blondies, so I must have tried this out, too! :3)
omg soo delicious!!! jemma can you please make a dark chocolate mousse, and eccleairs?? i love you jemme you are shuch a cool womman i want to be just like you when i grow older im only 14! :) but i love baking and i am pretty good at it too
I love this recipe. I love blondies topped with vanilla ice cream or caramel ice cream (to be extra naughty). I'm definitely going to try this recipe, and share it with my friends after our work out lol.

I realise this is an 8 year old comment so may not get a reply.. but have you tried replacing the nuts with something else? If so what please? 😅
Thank you Jemma! I was intimidated when I hear blondies because it seemed complicated. But I was happy to stumble on your recipe and I have made this 4 times now. My family loves it! Thank you for your no fuss and AWESOME recipes!

Hi Farah! How much dark brown sugar and granulated sugar did you use?
Ratio of 1 to 1
I made these last week and they were so phenomenal. I couldn't stop eating them..it was a huge problem lol. My boyfriend likes baked goods but he isn't crazy about them UNTIL I made these. Brown butter is the best! It's good in chocolate chip cookies too.

Oh my Lord, I've just tried it with ice cream on top.. it is so gooey, and it tastes DELICIOUS!

Here in Brazil, we use powdered milk and white caster sugar, but I'll certainly try your recipe, thanks
Decades ago, a lady gave a recipe for Blondies. When I made a batch, it was horribly dry because she’d omitted the 2 eggs from the recipe! I’m definitely making this, soon and often. TFS

In the oven, had pecans, white chocolate and dries cranberries at hand so that's what i added 😍😋 cant wait to taste it 🤗🍯
Jemma! suggestion! Turkish Delight Cupcakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plz! Thanks!
Did anyone else notice "give that a little whisk" as she was spreading out the mixture in the pan? Or is it just my iPad messing up...
I've done a lot of recipes but yours were the amazing so far. Thanks Jemma! :)

Yes, yes and yes!
Oh my god this recipe is incredible 😍
170g of Unsalted Butter | 100g Milk Chocolate | 100g White Chocolate | Roasted Nuts | 280g Light Soft Brown Sugar | 225g Plain Flour | 1 tsp of Baking Powder | 2 Large Free Range Eggs | 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
Those blondies look good!
You are an amazing woman! These blondies look delicious, I must try them! Good job!
These look amazing!!! Love blondes, especially with macadamias, so will definitely be trying this recipe with the burnt butter....
They look amazing!! And I have macadamias at home! Gonna try this!
Very nice. .I liked the macadamia nuts &white choc. here. . If we were to use clarified butter instead of brown butter wouldn't it be the same thing??
Made these yesterday. They are sooooo tasty! Sad to say that I may have eaten three...
Delicious... although mines came out a tiny bit overcooked (for a brownie) however still DELICIOUS!!!
Girl--you are awesome!
I just bake them and i can't stop eating them they are delicioussssss
i used 250g of brown sugar instead but it is still really sweet (maybe bcs asians dont eat much sweet foods) but the texture is great! thank you jemma.
Were you able to make it less sweet compared to the original recipe?
Hey Jenna, I would absolutely LOVE to make these today! Please tell me what chocolate to use. Are we going for a melty gooey chocolate when baked, or a choc chip kinda thing. And if you know what Lindt (lindor) chocolate is can I use that?
Please please respond!
Brilliant!! Thanx for using Imperial measures! ;)
This twist to the brownies is a crazy good idea! Maybe I could make it an every day treat around here :)
Jemma please tell us what type of vanilla u use it looks nice and thick and it even has the little black specks or did u make it homemade because i would love to know the recipe!

These are the absolute best. Turn out perfect every time, and better than brownies! (which is completely weird for a chocoholic like me to say)
So comforting😍
Is it just me or when she's spreading it out, you can hear a ding and her saying "give that a little whisk"?? o.O
I thought it was just me!!
I did, i thought it was just an odd glitch!! lol
I heard it!
Ashley Corrales the first time I didn't hear it at all but replaying it its very obvious! Strange:)
yeah!
Looks delicious. Thank u
Made this and it tasted really good! However, it's a bit too sweet for me so maybe next time I'll cut down the amount of chocolate (and also so that it'll be less gooey).
I love to watch and listen to you! You are so nice and have a very kind personality. Great recipes too :-)
that looks pretty amazing!!! definately on my to do list!! :-) could you use dried raspberries instead of the milk chocolate?? and maybe instead of the macadamia nuts, some walnuts??
I swear you are a mind reader.... I was craving these and needed the perfect recipe!! THANK YOU!!!
I always get soooo hungry when I watch your videos :( Looks so delicious~

Oh Jemma i love how your so simple when you talk it gives a nice homely feel :)
Hi Jemma, great video! just wandering if your oven is a fan? because sometimes the temperatures vary
Hi Jemma, I've tried your half and half blondie/brownie at crumbs and doilies and they were amazing! How would I make it cos the timings for both those recipes are different and also in terms of layering, not sure how to do it!
I want to try those so bad!!! 😵
let's make 'em!
Love the recipe Jemma but a little sweet. If I reduce the sugar to 250g do I need to adjust the butter and flour? I like to reduce the butter a little if possible?
These look lovely. Reminds me of some mom used to make ... without brown/burnt butter. Bet yours are better. I will have to leave the nuts out :(.
This is an genius idea because with a brownie the chocolate makes it so heavy !!
Hi Jemma. Greetings from Romania. :-)
Can I replace the soft light brown sugar with white sugar sand or with another kind of white sugar?
I made them today, and they tasted amazing!! I didn't put macadamia nuts in them, though, I did put some cinnamon apples and dark chocolate in them, and they turned out so delicious! :3 Thank you for these amazing recipes! (I keep making your banana blondies, so I must have tried this out, too! :3)
This looks really yummy 😋
OMG I wanna go home and make these Love it.. Thanks
Would hazelnuts be a good alternative to macadamia nuts in terms of flavor? Would it taste better with hazelnuts?
omg soo delicious!!! jemma can you please make a dark chocolate mousse, and eccleairs?? i love you jemme you are shuch a cool womman i want to be just like you when i grow older im only 14! :) but i love baking and i am pretty good at it too
we're 20 now, how's it going?
Hi Jemma. Love the Blondies but wanted to switch the recipe to make peanut butter blondies. Any tips on the best way?
Hello! Is there any way to substitute the eggs? Flax eggs or yoghurt maybe?
If you don't have brown sugar can you use caster sugar? :)
Thanks so much Tess!
Love your channel! Everything you make looks yummy. I'm sooo going to try these blondies :)
Hi jemma, can i replace the macadamia nuts? What do u suggest is a good substitute? Thanks in advance :)
Good recipe!!!
I love this recipe. I love blondies topped with vanilla ice cream or caramel ice cream (to be extra naughty). I'm definitely going to try this recipe, and share it with my friends after our work out lol.
Hi! Should I adjust the measurements if I'm using dark brown sugar instead of light?
Can you put frozen blueberries in the batter, or would it make it soggy?
Yummy!
How do you come up/develop your recipes?
What can I use instead of vanilla extract?
best. blondies. ever.
I'm definitely trying this one! Just have to convert the measurements lol
