  • In this episode of Business Edge, we discuss the notable rise of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, Nigeria, which now surpasses Europe's leading refineries in terms of capacity. This $20 billion venture is set to revolutionize Nigeria's fuel market by ending the $17 billion annual petrol imports from Europe. The refinery’s operation at nearly half its capacity, processing about 300,000 barrels per day, puts significant competitive pressure on European refineries. Additionally, we explore Namibia’s emerging oil sector, poised for an economic transformation similar to Guyana’s, following major discoveries by TotalEnergies, Shell, and Galp Energia. Also covered are the strategic decisions facing Anglo American Plc in response to a $39 billion takeover proposal by BHP Group, highlighting the complexities of global business mergers and acquisitions. Don’t miss out on these insightful analyses of pivotal shifts in the global oil market and their potential impacts on Africa’s economic landscape. Make sure to watch and stay informed about these transformative business dynamics.

Nigeria needs to clean up corruptions within the government up and down. Improve infrastructures, educations, medical, agricultures and oil export. Joining BRICS and asking China to assist will be the right way. Best of luck Nigeria🙏🙏✌️❤️

Nigeria needs to clean up corruption WITHIN THE WHOLE SOCIETY, not just government. Government people are not aliens imported from Mars. They are Nigerians that grew up and schooled in Nigeria. Every Nigerian needs to reject corruption in government, in society and IN THEMSELVES. It’s so bad that corruption is now normal and we don’t even realise many of us are actually doing corrupt things without thinking.

Corruption is cultural issues. It starts within families and ethnic groups. Nigerians kids parents need to educate their children first. They need to abandon the tribal mentality. Only then can they fix corruption. Don't expect to change the government if the culture within families and tribes has not changed 😅

@@BoringDad1272 I agree with everything you say, but the sad truth is that the corrupt Nigerians we see every day all around us (and sadly, including ourselves) are parents. The govt officials are parents. The bankers are parents, the contractors are parents. The politicians are parents. So what are they teaching their children by their actions? “Do what I say and not what I do”? That doesn’t work, because actions speak louder than words.

She is doing her job of journalism. Now go do your job as well as she does. Always complaining and you are the reason why Nigeria has not achieved its potential! The crime in Nigeria, the corruption comes from the education inside families. You fix the culture then you fix the politicians 😮
