I fail to see how reversing the voices of priests is a statement against homosexuality. I wouldn't have known that unless you told me. This encapsulates a masked ball exactly. Watching them portrayed in films of the Renaissance era, or playing ACII. It could equally portray a mass during that period. The tenor's voice is beautiful.
Been listening to this song since about 2002. I used to play it in the car when my dad and I'd go long drives, and if it came on when my mum was there she'd say 'what the fuck is that shite?' and tell us to turn it off. She's never had much taste in music. She's an Elvis fan. My dad was into prog rock, etc.
I had an art exhibition when I was a student almost ten years ago and the theme was nocturnal. The exhibition space was completely blacked out, and I had this song played on a loop to creep everyone out.

I was 19 when I saw Eyes Wide Shut...it was a simple jealous husband story out on the town by circumstance as he tries to work up the stupid courage to cheat on his wife through a series of very strange encounters (no doubt driven by when she tells him how close she was to throwing their whole life together away on a Navy officer for one night of sex)...then it took A HARD LEFT. 21 years ago but I remember it like yesterday...the only Stanley Kubrick film I got to see during it's original release, and maybe his best. Very spooky tale of obsession, power, sexuality and situational horror...your basic marriage.

Late Comment, but believe or not, that's not the only theme that could associated with this movie, but the reason why Stanley Kubrick made and produced this movie was to literally expose secret societies like the Illuminati, to which he did like the Secret Society Sex party (which the Illuminati did in real life with other secret societies) that the main character attended. The most messed up and accurate thing about this movie is that during the ending, the main character goes to a toy shop (representing allegory of how predators attract children) and in the background there's two men dressed in black suits and wearing black hats, they take the main characters daughter that his is only child and while it's not explained well, it's actually the two men taking her as a future sex slave and brainwash victim represented as one the black-dressed men put a hand on her back, representing that's she been "sold" as a piece of human property.

This is a Romanian orthodox prayer backwards . There was also a Hindu prayer that was supposed to be in this scene but it was removed along with 30 minutes of forage Warner brothers wanted removed. From what I’ve heard the cut out footage was a scene of Human child sacrifice . Stanley Kubrick didn’t want it removed he got into a huge fight with Warner brothers studios about it. Then he had a “heart attack” 5 days later and they cut the footage anyway. He was giving us a glimpse at what the rich and elite really do behind closed doors.
