Today we'll explore the challenge of beating Fallout: New Vegas whilst downloading a mod everytime I die... On Hard... With Hardcore enabled... and I forced myself to complete Dead Money early on.

this is a dead money hint and/or tip for anybody and everybody: before you start dead money make sure you have the “thems good eating” perks. The park makes it so that there’s a 50% chance that when you kill a humanoid enemy they will drop both and/or one of the two items that are blood sausages and red paste
You should also start, but not finish the first Van Graff quest, where you guard the door. The armor is a quest item and allows you to start the DLC with combat armor.

@@TooFewSecrets Dead Money is awesome, though? Great story, great characters and great rewards, even discounting taking all the gold. The only annoying thing is the speakers, and there's nothing stopping you from just saving every 5 feet as you advance past the more annoying sections.
@@Mr-Trox Also, just take a shot at them to make them go bang. Much easier to do if you have the Hand Loader perk.
@@decimation9780 Not every speaker can be destroyed, so there is that minor annoyance.

Camera recoil always makes me laugh because *that's not how recoil works 80% of the time*
It rocks the gun and your arms, maybe the rest of your body if it's a powerful gun but never throwing your head up into the sky.

I never understood why jabo doesn't just drop all the gold bars as a stack and pick up the single item stack as an object in the world to get around being over encumbered. it's what I always did and it makes getting out with the gold super easy. it's not like doing that is breaking a challenge run rule or something, so why not?
When I did it In my playthrough I couldn't pick It up with the grab Button
Bring a Stealth Boy with you and you can walk out with the gold bars AND lock Elijah in the vault without any exploits
Skill gap. I easily understood.
I realise I'm super late, but obsidian programmed it so that you can't use the grab button to move goldbars that are dropped. They knew that would be the first thing that people did

I don't understand not just hiding behind the pylon with a stealth boy when Elijah is about to come investigate the vault.
The feels about vault 22 were so real.

I still find it hard to accept that there are people who hate Dead Money, it's legitimately excellent.
I absolutely despised Dead Money the first time that I played it. I was playing a Gun focused character without a lot of focus on survival, so I could barely do any damage to the ghosties, and everything else kept killing me. I went through about half the DLC not even knowing what the radio things looked like that I had to take out, I got stuck so many times, I just hated it and vowed to never play it again.
When I came back to it for another playthrough, I made sure to pick up "Them's Good Eatin'" and put some skill points in Melee Weapons. That and being more familiar with the pitfalls in it, I now respect it and think it's fun. Still not my favorite DLC, but it's fun now.
@@valerius88 I definitely had the same relation with Dead Money, I did not like it at first because I was very impatient and unwilling to learn the new mechanics it presented. Glad I wised up.

I watched the original the other day, I don't mind watching it again lol.
I liked the part where you modded the game.
The reason you are losing health bit by bit in Dead Money is a feature that's explained in the game, by Elijah. This feature fit with the Dead Money setting bc you're inside the surrounding red poison cloud which make sense that the air you breathe will be a bit poison unless you go inside buildings. This feature only in Hardcore mode difficulty which why you losing hit points bit by bit even though you aren't inside the red cloud, disable Hardcore mode in the setting will remove the effect you want.

My first time playing fallout was with new vegas about an hour into playing I walked into a pair of deathclaws me knowing nothing about them decided ahh yes let’s go try out my new melee weapon on them

you can actually steal the gold quite easy, you just use a piece of Father Elijah body like his head or arm.
just fill his inventory with the gold and then psychically grab the body part and run to the door with it the take it all as you beside the exit door and leave
Or you can just wait until ellijah gets to the terminal and walk away casually

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hates Dead Money with a passion. It's just so boring, the ghost people suck to fight and like 70% of the DLC is just turning off radios, shooting speakers, or barely being able to see in the damn cloud. But it has one of the best sets of armor with the Reinforced Sierra Madre Security gear.
No Dead Money is the BEST DLC. The story, the atmosphere, the horror.... The horror. Also a great book/movie I discovered through it what it was based on. I get why some people don't like it, I really do but I personally love it.
