I like the format a lot, overall great analysis! But I think you need to be slightly more accurate or take an extra second to consider all the factors in this "live-review" kind of style: 2:58 You got that mixed up. As you explained, Darius' minions will attack Sett while Setts minions will keep hitting Darius' minions, but the result is that Sett's minions get a numbers advantage and actually his wave starts to push into Darius. In the video, Darius just straight up has more minions because he actually last hits while Sett only fights. 4:47 Yes, wardens mail is an amazing item and a great choice here, but another reason why he wins so hard is that while he bought a great item for 1000g, Sett only had 6cs in base and only had 500g to spend, and he only gets 350g worth of combat stats from the longsword, the 150g of the refillable barely help during a fight, only after, so Darius built an inventory difference of 650g worth of combat stats
Donghuap going the midbeast route, but with a bit more effort. I realize now I never acknowledged Darius can be good at the game until now. Analyzing his decisions opened my eyes to that. Thank Dong Daddy
Darius will always be an optimal pick for any comp. Even if he doesnt have any util, he’s practically a walking time bomb. You can even build full tank and still deal the most damage.
12:15 something that you didn't point out, maybe because it is more well known, is that Darius ulted early here. Darius ult is often used as an execute or to kill because people are reset hungry, but in this case he ults early for maximum damage since he already has 5 stacks, also Kaisa and Udyr are dead at the start of the fight, and he just killed Leona and Sett, so there is no need to pursue a reset.
Another bonus of the wardens mail is that the passive negates minion damage as well. So he was able to trade super hard in the middle of that wave. I like building it on singed when it’s good vs enemy team because you can perms proxy because wave does almost no damage
I'm really confused about your early statements regarding matchups. 1) Fiora was always considered as one of the easier matchups for Darius. She has negative winrate against him across almost all ranks. Even in Fiora guides from Forgottenproject and Potent (both chall, one is best NA fiora, other one is best EUW fiora) Darius is listed as skill matchup with a stronger laning phase, so the wincon is to outscale him. Basically, it means that Darius is better in lane than Fiora. 2) It's almost the same with Sett, Darius wins majority of games against him across all ranks. However, in high elo guides he usually listed as a skill matchup with Darius being slightly favored. 3) The same idea goes for the winrates at 15m (which is basically only laning phase stats). Darius wins more at 15m in both matchups.
ForgottenProject has never been challenger on NA, doesn't even play anymore, and there is literally double digit Fiora players on NA who've reached higher elo than him. He was just a masters player and content creator

I would be curious for why he picked darius over his other picks (idk what his other picks are) and what he banned and that inclusion would be great for the "gameplay analyzing" format. Also why is going sunderer over Tinity? Isnt trinity like a perfect item for darius? AS MS AD AND a sheen proc. Is it because they have sett and udyr? Or are there also other reasons?
I believe he went sunderer here because enemy has 3 tank champs + he gains even more sustain with sunderer sheen proc. I see him buying this item really often, you can look for his gameplay on youtube, there`s a lot of his vods to analyze
Triforce is overrated, proccing reduced armor against the enemy team is better than a Sheen proc. Only go Triforce if you're ahead early on, else go BC.
Seeing a #1 Darius video after 1+ years of it being polled gives hope that I will see a #1 Poppy video someday after 2+ years of following the channel and waiting for it. I like the new format. I guess it works better for non-english players to showcase their gameplay. I have no interest in ever playing Darius or laning against him (he is my permaban), but I watched the video nonetheless. As a darius player, all of this shit seemed obvious to me. The fact that people in the comment section are like "wow darius actually takes a brain" just goes to show how toxic the community is, thinking darius players just run at whoever and win by spamming abilities lmao
I liked the vid for darius, but i like the other format better. It probably is easier to churn out this kind of content more frequently, but it's not as informative as the other analysis videos you've done. I have high hopes for this format, but it needs some polish
Early on in the game when Darius trades kills with sett under tower, the q was prolly meant to ensure his wave gets under tower and bounces back, meaning sett will lose out on exp and gold.
Nope the wave was already under the tower. When you crash a wave into the tower you want the enemy wave to be stuck there and build up with the next coming wave so you can freeze on the enemy. Killing any of the minions in excess makes it so you wont be able to freeze and will have to fight for a push when you meet the enemy in top again
I have one nitpick about your videos. Info is great but I really hate having to adjust the volume when ads pop up. My ears get blasted because I have to up the volume for your video but not for the Ad.
I main darius and I’ve have been climbing my way out of bronze. This was a very informative video. Thanks for the breakdown and for showing me a great darius player to emulate.
While this holds some truth, be aware that both your own skill and that of the enemy is relevant. You should expect bronze/silver enemy toplaners to play VERY differently from this Sett, so what this Darius player does is not always relevant/necessary in lower elos. The only thing I can 100% guarantee will always be true is that Warden's Mail is an INSANE laning item against any AD matchup except maybe Aatrox (t2 boots are usually better in that case).

Yeah this is the rule of thumb on Darius, you don’t want to go into a fight until you already have stacked 5 stacks on one of the low damage champs like a support or tank

Xiao Ming is a famous Aatrox main player on CN server, but not Darius player, and has a less top champion pool on topline, I think you meant Xiao Chao Meng, he is the top player has Rank 1 2000P challenger on CN server, I believe this replay you are introducing is by Xiao Chao Meng instead of Xiao Ming.
Your videos have always been amazing, but if I can come with one advice then it'd be to get better thumbnails. The thumbnails for these videos makes me feel like i'm back in 2012 again lol

At 2:59 into the video he states that because the minions are hitting sett, Darius' minions gain an advantage. But if the minions are hitting Sett not his minions, then shouldn't Sett's minions have more health as the damage is being transferred to a champion instead of the minions. Thus, this should cause a minion advantage for sett, or at least more than if Sett didn't get the minion aggro.
what do you mean more health? when you auto a champ, all the minions of the champ you auto switch their focus to you, which means while your wave is focusing the enemy wave, the enemy's wave is focusing you and not the wave, which means your wave will kill all the enemy minions first from the health advantage.
5:30 why does darius avoid last hitting those spell minions (i forget their actual name but the squishy minions)? He has all cooldowns up, a bigger minion wave, equal levels, and just won a trade? I feel like the answer to this would teach me a lot!
He wants to keep Sett on the fight. If he kills those caster minions, the wave will eventually go towards Sett's tower; Darius will then be prone to Udyr's gank if he keeps on farming. He's freezing the lane basically, casters deal a lot of damage against your own minions. Bigger minion wave isn't really an advantage at that instance unless Sett fights (which he won't)
13:40 Naw 100 ability haste ashe support with ezreal is really good scaling. Double muramana with ashe R/E to control the game. They have enough armor pen and the enemy doesn't have very much keep away game from melee damages.

Yeah this is the rule of thumb on Darius, you don’t want to go into a fight until you already have stacked 5 stacks on one of the low damage champs like a support or tank
