    I got it in black and so far I love it. The material is seriously strong, and looks great. The stashable hipbelt is also one of the most comfy hipbelts on a frameless I've used.

      Broke Backpacker Sweet! I'm not a big hip belt user so I'm digging the ability to stash it until its needed. Happy to hear you've had a good experience with the fabric so far. Thanks for the feedback!

    I'm breaking in a LiteAF 35 in ultra, quite similar to your Palante. I'm loving it so far, checks all my boxes and then some!

      Nice Roger! Happy to hear you've been enjoying the Ultra pack so far. LiteAF makes some sweet gear. I've been very happy with my hammock tarp and other gear from them over the last couple of years.

    I owned the Joey V1 and Joey v2….the 2nd one fell apart in under 100 miles. They replaced it but with the wrong color and told me it was that or nothing. I’ve also had them straight up ignore multiple messages and emails.
    I also think their return policy is pretentious.
    It’s too bad because I enjoy their products and think their designs are great. I like that they value the aesthetic value of a piece of gear as well as functionality.
    I struggle to spend money with them for these conflicting reasons.

    V2 in white looks also amazing, sadly they don’t seem to sell it in white anymore. :(

    I found loosening the shoulder strap helped me reach the water bottle without dislocating my elbow

    • @matjobin
      @matjobin  2 года назад

      hermetically sealed Thanks! I had tried that and it helped, but I still had a little trouble. Those mesh pockets on the Joey just made it feel easier compared to the V2 and other packs I’ve used. Still minor and not a dealbreaker for me.

    • @gadblatz4841
      @gadblatz4841 Год назад

      They could also make the shoulder strap pockets larger. One of my only complaints. There's just not a lot of reason not to make them an inch larger for the purpose of sliding a 1l bottle in there.

    According to Ripstop by the roll the EcoPak and Ultra fabric are different, Ultra being the over with dyneema fibers in the fabric.

    2 years later and Robic reigns superior over DCF and Ultra for durability.. Ultra de laminates from itself like dcf. 200d - 100d robic is tried tested and true.

      @matjobin  Месяц назад

      @@NathanHassall I still really enjoy good ol’ Gridstop in terms of durability, but I haven’t experienced any delamination with my Ultra 200 fabric V2 and currently have a little over 2,000 miles on it. I’ve heard of others experiencing some delamination with the fabric though. The new Graflyte material seems to address this, but only time will tell. I have an Aluula Graflyte pack on order and am looking forward to testing it out on the trail in the near future. I’ve been digging the Ultragrid fabric lately too and have found that to work well so far.

      @@matjobin Glad you mentioned! ...Also glad to hear yours is holding up I guess it really depends on a number of factors (2000 miles is pretty darn good)
      Cheers!

    Do you think it’s possible to attach a camera bag to the hip belt? Like the hmg camera pod? I need to use either that or the camera clip and you mentioned the camera clip doesn’t work that well with the shoulder strap.

    • @matjobin
      @matjobin  Год назад +1

      @theLilyyFlower I’m not sure. I haven’t used the HMG Camera Pod with the V2 so I can’t give an accurate answer for that one. I’d imagine it would be possible to secure it to the pack someway though. My V2 does have a thin vertical daisy chain along each shoulder strap, so the Camera Pod could at least be clipped to the straps like it does with the HMG packs. My V2 is now an older version, compared to the one currently available. So I’m not sure if any subtle changes to that feature were made to the current one. The camera clip I have is the most recent Peak Design Capture Clip. Yeah, I’ve found it to be a bit of a snug fit on the shoulder straps. It can only be situated right above the mesh shoulder pockets due to the increased width as you go higher up the strap. I like to store small items in the strap pocket so the camera clip can get in the way.

    Would you say this pack is overkill for a day pack?

    • @matjobin
      @matjobin  10 месяцев назад

      @jesusruizjr.1382 In most cases it could be. You might want to a look at the Ultralight. It’s a smaller version of the V2 in this video. It has all of the same features excluding the stashable hipbelt, and it comes in the same Ultraweave fabric. I put together a video going over my Ultralight pack too (made of gridstop fabric) which can be found here: ruclips.net/video/bSsnjhWdzWk/видео.htmlsi=-2hsWFpuaJueCgVo

    Hello. I'm just learning about Pa'lante. Would you think jogging / running would be possible with the V2 Ultra?

    • @matjobin
      @matjobin  2 года назад +1

      Vagn it would be possible, but would also most likely be uncomfortable. You might want to take a look at the Pa'lante Joey which would ride better and be a lot more comfortable for running. I use mine primarily for backpacking and fastpacking, but I use it for trail running too: ruclips.net/video/abYQ4UupM-I/видео.html

    Dyneema is WAY too expensive...and this pack is seriously too small. The price will never come down until people STOP paying for it.
