+TheWolf You've got the right attitude!! It may take awhile to get the hang of the game in the beginning, but just keep at it! You'll keep unlocking items and new characters, and you'll keep learning the game. You'll have Mom beaten in no time!!

I am trying to get into Isaac and this helped me a lot with playing the game more strategicly and planing. For Example i didn't know, that devil deals had anything to do with red hearts so i wouldn't care, cause i could fill them up anyway. Now i can pay more attention to those typ of things. Thanks

Nice videos, I learned some stuff! Some other thoughts follow. Tick isn't bad (-15% boss health and restore one red heart on entering boss room) and there are, in fact, multiple ways to get a different trinket once you have Tick. That said, it's a niche pick and I usually pass on it as well. The Fool is arguably kind of wasted as a way to get out of a Boss Rush room without fighting the bosses: if you are going for Boss Rush (like, to get the star icon on your character), then you don't want to leave early; if you are not going for Boss Rush per se and just want that extra item to help your speed run, consider the "opportunity cost" of holding The Fool for so long. Teleport effects are quite powerful, especially for Azazel early: flying + The Fool means one damage-free Curse room, which is great when your health is black hearts. Not saying it's bad to hold The Fool, just that it depends on the goals of the run. The Emperor is an amazing Tarot: it can literally save a run or give a huge boost to speed runs.

As any character with a item that gives you a charged attack (this goes for Azazel's short range brimstone) if you charge it before leaving a room and when it's fully charged go into the next room while still holding the button it will still be charged right when you get into the next room.
This is a very excellent point! Perhaps something I forgot to mention specifically concerning charge attacks, but yes! You do want to make sure you're charged up if you have a charge attack item, such as brimstone, cursed eye, chocolate milk, monstro's lung, etc.. Thanks for mentioning this Heather!
+briar hawkins Yup yup! Its an okay trinket. I dunno if it has any other effects. Like, Champion belt causes more champion enemies to spawn, but you get a damage up.

I like how it has these mini-bosses that represent the Seven deadly human sins (Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Pride, Wrath, Envy, Sloth) Not sure if all of these are in the game but that's so cool.

I'll admit that at the time, he was easily my favorite. But after 100 hrs or so, I actually prefer Judas. The higher starting damage stat helps offset some of the early game. But he needs HP real quick
+Saxix No worries at all my friend! I really hope this does help. 25 hours is a decent investment for this game and I'd like to see you reaching the later floors. With that said, don't be afraid to abandon runs that aren't going well. Keep working on those unlockables with each character, and try out some of the challenges. Keep at it and you'll reach The Chest/The Dark Room in no time!
Finished 2 times with Alazel and just finished my first run with Isaac and it was crazy. I defeated moms heart and could go down one layer in the devilsroom. I was super scared and defeated the devil / horse boss. and it was amazing!!

13:45 you can get rid of the tick by picking up the trinket called "matchstich" it is the only item in the game that removes it, and there is another item that allows you to carry 2 trinkets, can't remember what it was called (like so people can see) EDIT: this is only on afterbirth, sorry.
I might have missed you mentioning it, but I've unlocked a little black heart on the page in the top left of the character selection screen. What does that do? Is there a way to turn it on or is it just effecting the game all the time?
Each character has that little page, and it's more of a checklist of things you completed on that character. Beat moms heart, boss rush, isaac, the chest, satan, the dark room, the hush, greed mode, and mega satan. You can also clear all of these on Hard Mode and get a red outline on that symbol. The checklist itself doesn't have any affect, but each time you clear one of these, you will unlock a new item in the game.
i know this is a pretty old video but i just wanted to say that when i was starting out azazel seemed like the hardest champ ever... cain on the other hand is great for beginners bcs he is isaac with more damage
+AlexKizi5 Azazel took some getting used too but the short range brimstone and ability to fly make the early levels super easy to get through. Cain can be good due to the increased luck but it's all a matter of preference.

Jovan Radojevic Couple of things for ya! First off, you may need to look up the actual requirements for Real Platinum God, as I'm not too sure of them. However, I believe you need to have beat the game on Hard Mode, with Every Character (including The Lost), going through both the Dark Room and The Chest. Additionally, beat all of the Challenges. Lastly, I believe you have to actually find and pick up every item in the game. That's my understanding of the achievement but you will want to look it up to verify. For Mega Satan, you will need to collect the Key Pieces, or you will need to find the item called Dad's Key. Key Pieces can be obtained by blowing up the Angel statues in deals with the Angel rooms. There are two pieces. Get both of these, and when you get to The Dark Room, or The Chest, the big door will unlock. If you found Dad's Key, using it on The Dark room or The Chest in that first room with the big door will unlock it. Hope this helps man!! Check out the Isaac wiki if you need more help with items or unlocking characters =)

TheAndrear1235 It means that you've unlocked something. Either new items, new bosses, or sometimes new floors. There is an item you can find called Monstro's Tooth, so that's probably what you're referring to. It's not very good hahaha..

Frontline Fern6 If you beat the game with a character, that ends the Run. When you select "New Run" from the main menu, you will start fresh from the beginning, and yes, you will not have any of the items from your previous run. Every New Run is completely different, and that's what makes Isaac so much fun to keep playing. You never know what items you'll find! Now, if you exit a run before beating one of the final bosses, you will have the option to "continue" from the main menu. This option will continue whichever run you were just on. The only other way to replay the same Run is to copy down the Seed of the run. A Seed is an 8 character code (a mixture of numbers and letters) that is randomly generated at the start of each run. To see the Seed, press the Pause button, and it will be displayed for you. Whenever you start a new run, you can choose to Enter a Seed. If you do so, you will play the same run that seed was generated from. I hope these answers help you out =)
I only beat moms heart once. And one time I was playing and used a tarrot card. Don't remember which but it teleported me lower down and Satan was there but idk if this is explained somehow or if it was a glitch I randomly did.
Sounds like a glitch since none of the Tarrot cards teleport you to the Dark Room O_o.. You would have to have picked up the negative from the Mom fight. Then after beating Satan, hopping in the chest takes you to the Dark Room. Very strange glitch indeed...
Lazuras can be a fun character to use, although he's not my favorite. It's all personal preference though. If you can find a good way to take advantage of his extra life, it can help out in the early game. There's strategies for every character and if Lazuras is your guy, I recommend looking some up =) Glad you enjoyed these videos and I'm glad they helped you out!
Its possible that there were adjustments made to Azazel in Afterbirth that affected his Laser and charge time. I played him on a Greed mode run in Afterbirth and it felt much weaker than before. I'm not 100% sure what happened to it. This video was recorded in Rebirth so that could very well account for the discrepancy.
Hahaha.. Yeaaa..... Azazel is the game's easy mode. You lose a lot of fun/interesting tear effects and synergies, but having a short range murder laser is very nice
jay rry oh definitely!! All of the characters are fun in their own way (some more than others). I only suggest Azazel as it really helped me build up enjoyment for this game, and it allowed me to start unlocking a lot of items.
Hey Zach!! Sure!! Angel Rooms are found starting on floor 3, and are triggered in the same way that Deals with the Devil are; meaning, no red heart damage taken on the floor. Additionally, in order for an Angel room to show up on floor 3, you must not have accepted any Deals with the Devil on floor 2!! If you want to see all of this put into practice, check out my Judas VS Mega Satan video!! I get Angel rooms in that video, and proceed to fight the games final super boss! I hope this explanation helps! If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask =)
+Creeper_Pancake I was actually unaware of this! I looked it up and apparently, in Afterbirth only, the Tick can be removed with the Matchstick. However, this doesn't work if you're holding Mom's Purse. In Rebirth, this doesn't apply. Still!!! That makes the Tick slightly less annoying, but I still won't pick it up xD Thank's for the update Pancake!!

So I think it was Lazarus or one of the female characters I was playing as that had a little x1 to the right of my hearts... What does the times one mean?
The x1 is an extra life. So while playing on Lazarus, if you were to die, you would come back to life once. It's a specific character trait unique to Lazarus, and he actually gets a small damage bonus after dying once! It can be used strategically in the early game also =)
+Azure Raiden Also one more thing... I beat mom for the first time so if I do another run and fail will I have to redo mom or do I still get to go in her womb? I'm having trouble explaining what I mean... Is the only way to progress through more bosses is by going on a winning streak or can I die but still go in her womb. Sorry for the confusion.

Sadly I don't have the seed for this run.. At the time of this recording, I wasn't showing the seeds and didn't think to save it. After this point, I always make an effort to show seeds at the start of a run.

The tick Removes 15% of any enemy's health if they have over 60 HP. Gives Isaac one red heart if he enters an uncleared Boss Room.

I'll admit that at the time, he was easily my favorite. But after 100 hrs or so, I actually prefer Judas. The higher starting damage stat helps offset some of the early game. But he needs HP real quick

+Saxix No worries at all my friend! I really hope this does help. 25 hours is a decent investment for this game and I'd like to see you reaching the later floors. With that said, don't be afraid to abandon runs that aren't going well. Keep working on those unlockables with each character, and try out some of the challenges. Keep at it and you'll reach The Chest/The Dark Room in no time!
Finished 2 times with Alazel and just finished my first run with Isaac and it was crazy. I defeated moms heart and could go down one layer in the devilsroom. I was super scared and defeated the devil / horse boss. and it was amazing!!

13:45 you can get rid of the tick by picking up the trinket called "matchstich" it is the only item in the game that removes it, and there is another item that allows you to carry 2 trinkets, can't remember what it was called (like so people can see)

I might have missed you mentioning it, but I've unlocked a little black heart on the page in the top left of the character selection screen. What does that do? Is there a way to turn it on or is it just effecting the game all the time?
Each character has that little page, and it's more of a checklist of things you completed on that character. Beat moms heart, boss rush, isaac, the chest, satan, the dark room, the hush, greed mode, and mega satan. You can also clear all of these on Hard Mode and get a red outline on that symbol. The checklist itself doesn't have any affect, but each time you clear one of these, you will unlock a new item in the game.

i know this is a pretty old video but i just wanted to say that when i was starting out azazel seemed like the hardest champ ever... cain on the other hand is great for beginners bcs he is isaac with more damage
+AlexKizi5 Azazel took some getting used too but the short range brimstone and ability to fly make the early levels super easy to get through. Cain can be good due to the increased luck but it's all a matter of preference.

Jovan Radojevic Couple of things for ya! First off, you may need to look up the actual requirements for Real Platinum God, as I'm not too sure of them. However, I believe you need to have beat the game on Hard Mode, with Every Character (including The Lost), going through both the Dark Room and The Chest. Additionally, beat all of the Challenges. Lastly, I believe you have to actually find and pick up every item in the game. That's my understanding of the achievement but you will want to look it up to verify.
For Mega Satan, you will need to collect the Key Pieces, or you will need to find the item called Dad's Key. Key Pieces can be obtained by blowing up the Angel statues in deals with the Angel rooms. There are two pieces. Get both of these, and when you get to The Dark Room, or The Chest, the big door will unlock. If you found Dad's Key, using it on The Dark room or The Chest in that first room with the big door will unlock it.

+TheAndrear1235 Hey Andrear!! To answer your question, Afterbirth is an expansion to Rebirth! It has everything in it that Rebirth had, tweaked a few things, and added a whole bunch of new content! The story and whatnot is all the same also.

TheAndrear1235 It means that you've unlocked something. Either new items, new bosses, or sometimes new floors. There is an item you can find called Monstro's Tooth, so that's probably what you're referring to. It's not very good hahaha..

Hey i have a question if i use isaac or another character and i beat the game does my character resets and i have to find all of the items again?
Frontline Fern6 If you beat the game with a character, that ends the Run. When you select "New Run" from the main menu, you will start fresh from the beginning, and yes, you will not have any of the items from your previous run. Every New Run is completely different, and that's what makes Isaac so much fun to keep playing. You never know what items you'll find!
Now, if you exit a run before beating one of the final bosses, you will have the option to "continue" from the main menu. This option will continue whichever run you were just on.
The only other way to replay the same Run is to copy down the Seed of the run. A Seed is an 8 character code (a mixture of numbers and letters) that is randomly generated at the start of each run. To see the Seed, press the Pause button, and it will be displayed for you. Whenever you start a new run, you can choose to Enter a Seed. If you do so, you will play the same run that seed was generated from.

I only beat moms heart once. And one time I was playing and used a tarrot card. Don't remember which but it teleported me lower down and Satan was there but idk if this is explained somehow or if it was a glitch I randomly did.
Sounds like a glitch since none of the Tarrot cards teleport you to the Dark Room O_o.. You would have to have picked up the negative from the Mom fight. Then after beating Satan, hopping in the chest takes you to the Dark Room. Very strange glitch indeed...

I sucked at this game,but when I watched part 1 and 2, I got really good with the character Lazuras (if I spelt it wrong excuse my grammar)
Lazuras can be a fun character to use, although he's not my favorite. It's all personal preference though. If you can find a good way to take advantage of his extra life, it can help out in the early game. There's strategies for every character and if Lazuras is your guy, I recommend looking some up =) Glad you enjoyed these videos and I'm glad they helped you out!

How do you charge your Azazel beam so fast? Mine charges veeeery slowly and does less dmg. I'm playing on AFTERbirth not rebirth btw...
Its possible that there were adjustments made to Azazel in Afterbirth that affected his Laser and charge time. I played him on a Greed mode run in Afterbirth and it felt much weaker than before. I'm not 100% sure what happened to it. This video was recorded in Rebirth so that could very well account for the discrepancy.

Hahaha.. Yeaaa..... Azazel is the game's easy mode. You lose a lot of fun/interesting tear effects and synergies, but having a short range murder laser is very nice

jay rry oh definitely!! All of the characters are fun in their own way (some more than others). I only suggest Azazel as it really helped me build up enjoyment for this game, and it allowed me to start unlocking a lot of items.
Sounds logic. Make me thinking if I should try normal for unlocking azazel instead of raging at the final floor again and again on hard..
Could you explain Angel Rooms?
Hey Zach!! Sure!! Angel Rooms are found starting on floor 3, and are triggered in the same way that Deals with the Devil are; meaning, no red heart damage taken on the floor. Additionally, in order for an Angel room to show up on floor 3, you must not have accepted any Deals with the Devil on floor 2!!
If you want to see all of this put into practice, check out my Judas VS Mega Satan video!! I get Angel rooms in that video, and proceed to fight the games final super boss!

+Creeper_Pancake I was actually unaware of this! I looked it up and apparently, in Afterbirth only, the Tick can be removed with the Matchstick. However, this doesn't work if you're holding Mom's Purse. In Rebirth, this doesn't apply. Still!!! That makes the Tick slightly less annoying, but I still won't pick it up xD Thank's for the update Pancake!!

So I think it was Lazarus or one of the female characters I was playing as that had a little x1 to the right of my hearts... What does the times one mean?
The x1 is an extra life. So while playing on Lazarus, if you were to die, you would come back to life once. It's a specific character trait unique to Lazarus, and he actually gets a small damage bonus after dying once! It can be used strategically in the early game also =)
