    These pants look so good onyou, very nicely done with the wider leg. I sawthe pattern, but holding out. I just sewed 3 prs of the Jalie jeans , first pants pattern I've ever sewed, After making adjustments, came out good. the pocket instructions were difficult, but came out very well. Again this pattern came out so well on you. Your makes are always so well done Karina

    Oh I love the wider legs. I had to do that with my inner waistband as well. I didn't have enough fabric. I love those buttons, perfect for these pants. I really like these!

      The inner waistband is non visible so yeah, always a fabric saving way when there’s not enough :) I bought 2mt of this fabric again a few days ago, it’s so nice! Thanks for watching 🤗

    Karina. Love the method you use to create your own "look" and fit. Wonderful! Having master blocks is certainly the way to go. Initially, it does take time to do a block but the effort pays off and is a future time saver. Like you said, it opens the door to so many possibilities and opportunities. I have been using a similar system for many years and appreciate the way you you are explaining...."teaching" your how to method. It will be a valuable tool especially for newer sewists to explore. Kudos to you and happy sewing. Cheers. JoAn

    I love the pattern and the stripy material I especially like the faux pockets good idea. You definitely need to make some plain tops to go with your colourful trousers your making which by the way suit you perfectly.

    I love your pants. I enjoyed this video and am really looking forward to seeing your "add-ons" and how they change the look of your pants. Thank you for mentioning the different leg widths. I tended to prefer a narrower width of about 14 1/2 inches - 37 centimeters, but want to branch out more and love seeing the differences in what different width amounts look like in real life. I realize that fabric drape will really affect the look as well, but this is still a great help to me. Thank you for sharing,

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  6 лет назад +1

      Nadine Woods I’m willing to try all the widths. The duet trousers have a skinnier leg too that would be about 37cm. For wide legs I wouldn’t make them in stiff fabrics. I’d make the slim leg in stiffer fabrics. Self imposed rules 😂

    Fairly small vertical stripes were an excellent choice. I like the wider leg, too. I'll be so glad when "skinny jeans" and leggings go out of style. Wish more ladies would take a good look in the mirror before putting on those things. Especially, when they're wearing a t-shirt or short top. Sure, some look fine. Sure, everyone can choose, what they please. That's not the point. The point, IMO, is to wear what is most flattering, most comfortable, based on body type. (Ducking behind a rock...... )
    Thanks for sharing your modifications. Well done. Appreciate the creativity of adapting a well fitting basic pattern for a number of variations.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  6 лет назад +2

      The skinny pant look is questionable for sure but I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon. There are ways to use them in a more flattering way (not with flats 🤦🏻‍♀️ and cropped things), but they really aren’t my style. I’m happy I can make whatever style I want now with this pattern 😊

    Hi Karina, I'm loving "pants month"! Your wide leg version of the Duet trousers is fabulous. I really like the the faux back pocket flap and the horizontal stripe fabric on the front pockets. It's fun creating details on pants and skirts, even though, like you, I don't wear tops tucked in. Can't wait to see the next two versions. Thanks for sharing.:)

    So interesting, yes most pant patterns are tight on the legs or extra wide . Straight leg, slightly wide pants are very flattering on many people . Love yr ideas. Yr pants fit perfectly. Questions 😱
    Why did u serge yr seams separately? Do u think it would make a difference if u had serged the seams together ? Very beautiful sewing 😍

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  6 лет назад +1

      Aurora26 I usually prefer to press seams open on the side seams. I do this for all my pants and skirts. It just looks better. Most RTW are serged together but I sew to have something better. Thanks for watching 😊

    What is the current width of tge bottom leg. I mean how much extra have you taken from narrow bottom to flared one? 12 or 14 inches

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  6 лет назад

      The straight leg (my original version) has 16.5” and I took it to 28”.

    • @kathygann7632
      @kathygann7632 Год назад

      If she added an inch to each leg seam, that’s 4 inches so it would increase from 16.5 to 20.5, not 28.

    These are so great! How did you sew up and attach the faux back pocket flaps? I'm thinking of adding them to my sabrina slims and just doing the front pocket add on haha

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  6 лет назад +1

      Megan Strowger I sewed the two layers together (right sides touching) and left a little opening to turn them inside out. Then I stitched them at the top with two rows of top stitching.... you can’t see that because of the stripes.

    • @msbelledanzer19
      @msbelledanzer19 6 лет назад +2

      Lifting Pins and Needles Thanks! That makes sense how you finished and made the pocket flaps. Did you attach them to the pants with two rows of top stitching as well?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  6 лет назад +1

      Exactly that :) I’ll
      Show that better on denim shorts. I’ve done the same with contrast stitching so it’ll be more noticeable.

    H i Karina, love your pants. Loved the easy way you widened the legs. I am going o use this.
    While you were showing the paper pattern for the faux pocket flap, there was a ruler on the table that i have not seen before.
    Where did you get it? Seems interesting!!!

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles

      It’s those transparent rulers with a french curve. Super useful. I got it at the craft expo I went to in São Paulo a month ago. I’d been looking for one for months.
