I recently did a trip from Durban to JHB in my 2023 polo Vivo gt. I left Durban with full tank (550km range). Cruise control 120km/h all the way to JHB , Bramley. After 587km’s I had a range of 400km left & half tank. On the way to Jozi my range went high as 850km’s averaging 4.6l-5.4l/km👌🏽 there was no traffic & I had the aircon on. VW made a masterpiece with these 1.0 tsi engines.
That's actually weird. Travellings on the N3, GTi was averaging 5.6L/100km, fully loaded. Keep it mind that tyre pressures were adjusted accordingly. That was using the Normal driving profile and cruise control set at 126km/hr which is actually 121km/hr based on GPS. I've also managed to get 4.9L/100km driving without any PAX or luggage on the highway without cruise control. By the way... I did this all with windows open. I never use Aircon because my nose dies. Goes to show that the extra drag created by open windows is actually not worse than the extra power consumed by the AC compressor.
Assuming you were going to Durban, on the n3 I’d say that’s to be expected because I’ve driven my x3 m40i to Durban going around 140 I got like 6l/100 which is crazy because in the city it’s more like 11/100, but I’ve come to find out that it’s downhill from pta to Durban so cars are more efficient, but going back it was 9/100 but that can be attributed back o the fact that I was going between 160-240 most of the way
Great video 🎉❤ When your travel home, try atleast to refill to full tank then rest the trip computer so atleast we can see how far you can go with one full tank
Yes ...its a really long explanation if you really want me to explain but to put it short and sweet. Robots dont have intuition unlike we do @@peace_ndlovu
You need to do more of these road trip videos and get a dash cam too.
Totally agree ,at the same time I’m interested to know his phone model..it is good..

@@peace_ndlovu and next time you're filming such a video...please cook that polo man go speeds like 140 and 150 or 160 if possible 😂😂

Coming from The Soweto Marathon, it gave me 4.9l/100 km . I had it on 120km cruise control going to Dbn. A 6-hour drive.
Mr HowMuch sent me here
After raining season the roads tend to look nice and clean
Pleasing to watch

I’ve noticed that the 4 cylinders are more efficient on the highway if you’re driving normally, and not so good for city driving?
Yeah the GTI averages less than the Rline because of less stress on the engine meanwhile the 1.0 works a bit more for it's power

Wow ,at what speed you been driving?
Just fyi, cruise control does take more fuel than usual driving.
You don't disappoint when it comes to quality videos🔥
Please tell me where I can find "Pushin P" remix🙏😭, I've been looking for it
At 09:00 you were doing 140kph, that muddies the waters a bit
was overtaking 🫣
The roadblocks on Caraosel are the worst because the traffic is insane not sure why they aren’t doing them elsewhere.
Did you use the air conditioner?
Got my answer in 8:10 - 8:22 🙌🏽😂
Road trips are the best thanks peace🎉
The fuel consumption was good in my opinion
They are building a R4Billi hospital
5.6 is reasonable 💯👌🏾
Is not bad at all
could be better🙌
Using cruise control most of the time js way less efficient
really?🤔
Absolutely. Well spotted.
That’s true
