I'm with you, I don't get what people could hate about this one. It's super entertaining, the stakes are extremely high, and it's a good learning moment for Dewey and Huey.
I think it's because of how detached it can be from the FOWL treasure hunt and danger lore aspect. That outside of the mentioning of Della and Donald it can be placed in almost any season so for fans of scripted series (which this is) it feels like a storyboard episode or as some call 'filler'. Makes me recall Amphibia season 3 and some good to great (subjective though as all shows/episodes) episodes was called 'filler' yet was enjoyable plus might of influence growth or world building. Sometimes we need episodes somewhat or even totally detached from the series/season lore/plot just to spend some time and growth with the characters and whom we are introduced to. Doing so we bond tighter to them making stakes and interest higher later.
@@AngelJD I guess it does kind of feel like a left-over season one episode, (minus the mentioning of Della, but especially with the greater focus on Dewey,) however, I agree that a lack of story focus dosen't make it bad, and character endearment is always welcome. I personally don't believe in the word "filler", just "non-plot-focused episodes."
Just a few hints concerning Norse mythology represented in the episode: Jörmungandr (=Midgard Serpent or World Serpent), Hecka(actually Hel or Hella, but Disney changed that because of "hell"), and Fenrir (wolf said to consume moon and sun during Ragnarök) are all children that Loki fathered (FYI: the other child of Loki, which he gave birth to (yes, Norse mythology is weird) is Sleipnir (8-legged horse) is sadly not in this). There is no equivalent of Strongbread in Norse mythology that I am aware of. That character seems to be inspired by the legend of Samson from the Bible. Also Kristofer Hivju (voice actor for Jörmungandr) is best known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones.
I'm not even a wrestling fan but this episode was so much fun to watch. I didn't realize people weren't a fan of this one (at least, not enough for it to be noticeable).
The moment where the ground cracks under the triplets shows a hint of foreshadowing for one of the triplets if you pay attention on who gets separated from the others.
I think a reason for people not thinking fondly of this one is Dewey's resolution but also this was the last ep to air before the show went on hiatus and I think people were hoping for a bigger episode or they just don't like wrestling but even as a non wrestling fan I still thought this episode was a ton of fun.

Gaming channel is taking up his passion and the fact that he watched thru all of Adventure Time (perfect reaction series) on his own recently just kind of solidifies it. Shame as he is one of my favorite reactors and I'm pretty picky on reactors so that's a huge compliment. Hoping that he finishes DT as he is really close to the finish line here but I don't have hopes.

First of all; out of ALL mythologies, I think it would make sense for those from the Mesoamerican tribes or the Greeks to be the ones who first created wrestling. In terms of the former, many believe the Aztecs and Mayans were what inspired the concept of modern Lucha Libre. Second of all, it looks like Dewey learned a VERY big lesson here; you don't have to WIN a fight to be viewed as a champion. Third...why would Scrooge want to be a bad guy, in terms of wrestling? Was it meant to tell the Aesir and Vanir gods not to mess with mortals?
I actually really like this one! I thought it was fun and creative and this episode radiates character. A good "gateway" episode if you need to show a friend what DuckTales is all about. This is a hype, non-plot related one to give them a good idea of the adventures. I hardly know why the fanbase _despises_ this one. Guess a lot of people don't care for wrestling. Which is fine, because liking things that aren't mainstream is a good mark!
Unfortunately, there are many of them. For them, the new series is "the destruction of childhood", "stuffing" and "shit". We (in my country) call such people: a person with the "Duckling" syndrome. (Perhaps this term appeared after the release of the first two episodes of the series, because in my country, the series was disliked by fans of the original in most cases) /I apologize for possible mistakes/

This episode was very strange because Captain Crash landing the plane without crashing.
