Animation it's used in this video, because it's my career, i have been doing this for quite a few years now and i would like to continue doing it. My Karelian Grandma’s Dad and his oldest brother fought with all they had to defend their town of Impilakhti during the Winter War, which they had to flee from later on.
Now both of them are dead but i will never forget them

While technically the Soviets won the winter war, the Finnish had a 1:2 kil ratio and two thirds of Soviet forces froze to death due to being unprepared for the harsh weather
*with also an unproper command structure, as before the war, Stalin's great purge have killed high ranking officers and generals. Making them inefficient as they were no swift and efficient replacement of the purged officers.

No, it's an AT rifle made in Finland - probably the Lahti L-39 20 mm.
The ex-Polish Ur 7.9 mm rifle (exactly wz. 35 AT rifle) was not yet available during Talvisot a War 1939-40. They were used in combat only during the Continuation War in 1941-42 (under the marking - 8 mm PST KIV/38).

Here is a cool history fact, Christopher lee was a volunteer in the winter war but here the catch he was way behind the border as a guard then winter war ended after 2 weeks of staying.

Fun fact: after the Winter War Hitler began to think that the USSR was weak and the war against it will be a walk in a park.
Hitler always thought that the Soviets were "worthless, weak subhumans" that were only fit for extermination or enslavement. The awful Soviet performance in 1939 encouraged him to attack the USSR even more. Hitler could've created pro-fascist European states, like Ukraine, who hated Stalin, but he did the exact opposite. This caused most Ukrainians, as well as other Eastern European people, to fight for Stalin against the genocidal Nazi war machine. After all, the Winter War helped the Red Army to improve its flaws for the upcoming war against Nazi Germany.

The russians had a better simpeler plan to begin with. Rush the capital and demand a surrender. But Stalin wanted to show that the soviet army could pull of a compicated plan with a lot of moving around so they went witht that which worked in favor of the Finns who could use the terrain.
Yeah, the initial plan was to push hard through the isthmus and advance towards Helsinki, but Stalin wanted some of that tricky manoeuvring Germany had done in Poland and tried to attack many places on wide front. That just didn't work with the terrain and the leadership they had. After the war had gone badly for them for some months, they switched to something resembling the original plan and it worked a lot better.

Reminder, the Finnish are not as invincible as shown here.
They didn't have a lot of soldiers, even at maximum mobilization, so they weren't a strong force in general. What the Finnish specialized in were ambushes, elastic defense strategies and hit and run tactics.
The reason the war lasted so long is how well ambushes were placed. Snipers everywhere, troops in different pockets or foxholes, ski divisions, etc. The plan was as simple as: go in, kill the enemy (or as much as possible) and leave as quickly as possible. However, in direct confrontations, Soviets would usually win the battle. They had a MASSIVE amount of manpower to throw at the enemy, and a really good industry, capable of producing rifles efficiently.
Soviet tactioners were not dumb either, they eventually found out to how to counter the finnish strategies more successfully.
The Finnish weren't able to hold onto the Mannerheim line, showing how weak the Finnish were in direct confrontation and required a large amount of fortifications to survive direct confrontation.
I'm not downplaying the Finnish, or pretending the Soviets are great, the Finnish fought amazingly against the Soviets in the Winter War and Continuation war, many died for both of the nations, and we remember the sacrifices on both end. I do not want to throw feather and tar onto the Finnish armies, but neither the Soviet.
People died on both sides, and I just wanted to make sure people understood the true nature of the war.
They weren’t dumb, but they were sure cocky.
Interesting fact: Both the Soviets and the Finns in this cartoon have weapons that did not exist at that time, for example the PPSh-41.

The Italians came in to help along with German soldiers in the Continuation War, not the Winter War.

Dude, I have to give the Finns some respect. They fought off a literal horde of soviets as best as they could, using every trick they could think of to win. Even though they lost, the Finns didn't go down like a bitch, but fought tooth and nail for every inch of Finnish land. That takes some serious stones to do.

They managed to get to that objective, but not after being seen as pussies when underequipped Finns managed to fuck over 250k Soviet soldier compared to a 20k loss on the Finnish side. The Soviets won the war, but the Finns got the reward of showing their strength.

Плюс национальная идея сису давала финам желание сражаться.
Но потери финнов составили 26 тысяч человек, что для Финляндии тех времён является демографической катастрофой,
ну и благодаря этой войне советский союз стал более осторожно относиться к проведению различных наступательных операций, что помогло в грядущей войне с Германией.
