- The Winter War simplified version.
The Winter War was between Soviet Union and Finland it started on 30 November 1939, when Finland refused to give lands to Soviet Union. Soviet union wanted some extra lands around Leningrad so they could protect it better.
Unfortunately the war itself didn't go as expected for Soviet Union. Finland was well organized and resisted pretty well against Soviet Union. But in the Finland lost and had to Sign The Moscow Piece Treaty, which gave 11 percent of lands to Soviet Union.

@@adrianulicki7882 Actually, Poland took a part in invading Czechoslovakia. First, they took some lands, and then Poland and Hungary were ready on borders to invade Slovakia. Hitler gave us chance, he called our president to Berlin and told him, if we join Hitler, he will give us protection under Germany. In that moment, Ribbentrop went in the office and announced that Hungary and Poland have ready armies on borders.
Firstly, Tiso (slovak president) went back to Slovakia. When he said the announcement, whole parliament was quiet for several minutes. They had to accept to join Germany. Poland and Hungary would destroy us, even tho in times of mobilisation against Germany in 1938 we had 1,250,000 soldiers.
So, if you cry about none helping Poland. You should know this story.

Fun Fact: Finland stole so much Soviet equipment during the war that they emerged better armed and equipped from the war than when they began.

Whel yes the first phase of the war was an embarassment to Russia. But in the second phase of the war ESPECIALLY THESE DAYS, Russia is winning! High Ukrainian casualties all happens. Russia Encircled Lysychansk with about 10 000 Ukrainian troops being there and they plan to attack Slovyansk (i think). You dont compare Finland with Ukraine.

Just slow down with your texting. You can still make funny jokes and all, but again, just slow down. I know it's exciting and kinda fun to crack a good joke in the comments and maybe get that first comment in that new video, but if you keep typing so quickly like you're in a hurry, and if you start making too many spelling mistakes and you don't correct them right then and there, then other people will look at your comment and think that you don't know what you're talking about, that you're an idiot. My Grandpa fought in winter war. He survived and passed away in 1989, I never had a chance to meet him because I was born 7 years later after he died.

Actually, Finland used a material help from Germany (like resources, weapons etc.)
Actually, that help was very minimal and Finland was on it's own during Winter War. German aid came during continuation was, when Germany benefited from Finnish battle agaist Soviets. France and UK wanted to help during Winter War, but Germany didn't allow any transportation to Finland. Sweden donated lots of ammunition and guns and hundreds of volunteers joined. After Swedish aid, second largers material help became from Soviet Union - in form on captured material. Tanks, cannons, guns and bullets. Finns captured so much Soviet goods that they had more weapons after the war than before the war.
Wrong time period. During the winter war the Germans and the Soviets were allies.
