You can always ask for public information in a professional setting. Asking for cards in hand or cards left in library or cards in the graveyard is not only legal, it's required for the opponent to answer honestly or they could get disqualified. What's not required of them is to tell you hidden information. Like if you Thoughtsieze them and don't write down their cards in hand, they do not need to tell you what cards are still in their hand two turns later.
What ify means is is revealed cards. Like if a card is revealed and then tucked back away they don't have to show it to you again, But a lot of times that an LGS people will be cool with you asking that cuz you could just write it down.
things I didn't know I needed: Ify and Becca hosting an EDH show with Josephine McAdam as a guest it's like all of the internet I've watched in the last few years has just culminated in one place and it couldn't be better (Phil's awesome too, this is just the first time I've seen him in anything)
These were very complicated decks, especially for precons, and I just want to applaud everyone here for doing their best and having fun with so many involved interactions.
10:20 Ify's lands are tapped (mostly) at a 90 degree angle 10:24 They're tapped at a 45 degree angle 10:27 90 degrees 10:35 45 degrees I don't know what to believe
I started thinking Ify would be the threat since he was playing Eldrazi. Little did I know, he was just treating the simic player exactly how they should be treated!
Well done Good Time folks! Decent first outing into Commander gameplay; you obviously have excellent production value. One thing that I think would benefit the production in the future is having a judge on hand to catch rules issues on the day. Channels like @LRRMTG and @TolarianCommunityCollege typically have a judge observing the game to make sure everything goes smoothly, and even then some things slip by! It's very easy for the players to miss interactions or misinterpret how cards work, especially when they're all trying to perform at the same time.
Don't worry Ify, Everflowing Chalice on 1 is perfectly reasonable. At that cost it's like any other 2-mana rock! (Also it should have kept its counter after Final Act: the sorcery removes counters from players [like Becca's energy], not from permanents they control.)
I love watching games with mistakes, especially those that I make, as I can learn from it! Plus I'm loving the guests! don't know them, off to find their stuff :)
Becca going back several times on missed triggers really made it feel like casual friendly and real. I do wish though she would have controlled the game with the Ancient and won, however I understand we don't always play to win
Just a heads up, Final Act wouldn’t have removed the Everything Counters. It removes counters from PLAYERS, not from permanents controlled by those players
33:45 the board wipe only affects counters on players themselves, like experience, poison, and energy. It wouldn’t have affects the everything counter and charge counter on the chalice. RIP
Omo has some of the most interesting interactions that I've seen of the 3 decks so far. Part of me really wanted to see the Oma player copy brood master, mondteouse it, then just do it again next turn, but the game was already over by that point
Oh... But wait, I guess if the mirror has the counters it couldnt monstrous again. Didn't think that through entirely based on what is and isn't monstrousable
@@Masteroftheweb One of the more interesting things I've seen with Omo was a land card on the battlefield that got copied into a second Dark Depths. It gets copied with no ETB ice counters. Remove the original with ice counters to the legend rule and boom a 20/20 flying indestructible creature cheated on the battlefield
@@Wotansfogal Oh yeah, the classic thespian stage + Dark Depths combo. That's and oldie, but a goodie. Not specifically an Omo thing. That's a win con in my "Mirror Match" deck. Edit: I just realized that Mirror could do the dark depths combo too, AND it's in theme for my "Mirror Match" deck. I should add that to it!
Engagement comment! Ify's Everflowing Chalice wouldn't have lost its counters from the Final Act - it only removes counters from opponents, not opponents' permanents!
1:01:02 did the hydra have base power and toughness 0/0? If so, the Mirage Mirror would die as a state based effect because it doesn’t get any counters when you copy the hydra.
Great game. This is probably subjective, every time it went back to the overhead shot, it felt like it broke the 180-degree rule. I'm probably just too use to how everyone else does it.
The intro had me thinking that you guys just read these commanders for the first time. 😅 "She makes everything into every ... type? of land? and creature? It's very goo...." fizzles out. 💀
When players lost counters, their permanents don’t! The player has energy counters, the permanents have counters therefore the chalice wouldn’t have lost its counters
Just to let you know that you cannot cascade into another cascade, When you cascade into Bloodbraid elf and he enters play you cannot cascade again via the bloodbraid elf because he was not cast, sorry I paused the video and you guys may have corrected that play already 😢 Edit- 8 minutes later when the guy used Maelstrom Pulse you didn’t need to sacrifice all of your tokens, Ask which one he is targeting and in response only sacrifice the token being targeted and the spell will not resolve so you could keep that mana for your turn. Edit 2- It is kind of fun watching people play for the first time and mistakes happen 😢, I think it’s fun to learn from mistakes but the dude with the tarmagoyf tokens probably should keep a better eye on the graveyards as the game progresses because these things grow really fast, Also keep an eye on Goyfs hitting the graveyard from anywhere because you should have a massive army. Will finish watching tomorrow :) Have fun
You can most definitely cascade into cascade. Cascade lets you CAST a spell for free, which means any cast triggers will trigger, including another cascade.
I'm just running around looking for these videos of these decks facing off... But this group has good energy. I like it I also hate that as I was typing 'energy', the red head perfectly started yelling "ENNNNEERRGY". It's like it was intended. You can't mind game me!
Should I be surprised IFFY Does commander now?!?!?!?!?! like what everyone and their mom plays commander... i remember in 2012 when I first played I became addicted but it was so niche. NOw its either you play commander or youre a nobody
I'm 30 minutes into this game and the Omo player just... Doesn't understand the deck. She gained 2 life instead of 3 off the locus, and just told the table she only has 1 gate when she has 2. She didn't misplay a counter like I thought she did though, so there is that.
My eyes hurt like if i had wasps stinging on them at minute 40:20. You just had to sacrifice the spawn that was targeted so maelstrom pulse would loose the target , you would be able to keep your spawns. Worst play ever from both players. As a former jund player im having a hard time watching my pet deck played like this. Im sad 😢
I feel like someone just dipped my dropout peanut butter into my magic chocolate. Ghostbusters had it wrong it’s totally cool to cross the streams.

Yeah, modern horizons be like that!
Yay, I love watching commander live-play and I love watching both Becca's and Ify's content. Here I get to do both. Would love to see more like this.
10:20 Ify's lands are tapped (mostly) at a 90 degree angle
10:24 They're tapped at a 45 degree angle
10:27 90 degrees
10:35 45 degrees
I don't know what to believe
We need Josephine back for more. Her energy and the way she clicked with y’all is excellent.
I started thinking Ify would be the threat since he was playing Eldrazi. Little did I know, he was just treating the simic player exactly how they should be treated!
😂😂😂
This was so fun, & I even managed to follow some of it.
How am i just now discovering y'all play commander too!
Bruh! That's how I feel!! And Ify is using the precon I really want!!
Because its the first episode???
becca was on the baldurs gate game knights
@@lichdust And the ONE PPR!
And Josephine was on the Innistrad Crimson Vow episode of Game Kinghts.
Love to see Becca and Josephine play commander!

mana acceleration is mana acceleration, if you don't use it you will fall behind
@@michaelhuerta7469yeah and early is generally stronger
Iffy playing Eldrazi is fitting since he is a titan of comedy.
Great job everyone!! Very cool preview of these commander decks!!
You guys keep making these and I’ll keep watching and liking them
40:20 the biggest spite play would have been to sacrifice only the spawn being targeted causing the pulse to fizz with no legal target
True
I was very confused by this lol i was like wait why would you sacrifice all of them
Commander + GTS? Yes please!
AHH!
More and more people getting into MtG content makes me so happy.
Super stoked to see you guys playing.
It's hard to see the board but I'm excited about this!
Mirage Mirror never fails to impress me. Awesome card.
I love watching games with mistakes, especially those that I make, as I can learn from it!
Plus I'm loving the guests! don't know them, off to find their stuff :)
Correct me if I'm wrong but final act only should have only removed the experience counters not all the counters on permanents they control.
Correct. Misplays are gonna misplay.
I was looking in the comments to check if I was the only one that got it
Great video. Complements to the music. I found myself jiving to the music while watching. Thanks for the tip of four not being five. LOL!
This video was awesome. One of the best commander gameplay videos i've seen. Would you guys keep doing as a series? would be nice!
You'll be seeing more of this for sure!
thanks for being such good guides Becca and Ify :)
Oh no! Proliferate ups all counters! That includes energy!
Is Josephine a high elf glamoured as a human. She's mesmerizing
Dude hell yes what a pod
More please! Thanks Becca!
Hype. New commander show for me to watch
Im on a binge of these mh3 preview games waiting for my Eldrazi preorder, and I had no idea Ify even played magic! This is a wonderful surprise.
Phil with the freaking sol ring turn one. Insta-threat
That was fun to watch! As a new player who wants to start with modern horizon 3. I wanted to see the decks in action!
Kicking Everflowing Chalice for 1 is underrated because of how many things increase counters.
I hope to see more commander games here.
Excited to add more commander play gane to my current list and feom the good time society, even better.
We need more GTS Commander
Becca going back several times on missed triggers really made it feel like casual friendly and real. I do wish though she would have controlled the game with the Ancient and won, however I understand we don't always play to win
Congrats on a great inaugural party, gang!
So this is what Iffy has been up to. Nice to see
Also Um Actually on dropout
40:26 you only need to sacrifice the one being targeted because then the spell will fizzle without the initial target ;-;
Accurate! But You're allowed to sacrifice them all 😅
Just a heads up, Final Act wouldn’t have removed the Everything Counters. It removes counters from PLAYERS, not from permanents controlled by those players
I know Phill!! I went to high school with him!!
Hey that guy Phil, pretty cool dude!
How did I not know ify played magic?! This is awesome
I think the first time I encountered iffy was a geek and sundry mtg tutorial with Erika,Iffy and Becca actually (The video's still up there)
I may be wrong here but I'm pretty sure final act wouldn't take the counter off of the chalice because it's not a counter on a player
At 33:42 the card only removes counters from opponents, it does nothing to permanents
33:45 the board wipe only affects counters on players themselves, like experience, poison, and energy. It wouldn’t have affects the everything counter and charge counter on the chalice. RIP
Everybody is scared of the Eldrazi deck, but I havent seen it pop between these 4decks.
I think the Lurgoyf deck is the scariest deck
Omo has some of the most interesting interactions that I've seen of the 3 decks so far.

Hey, guys. Great Video. Plz, tell us what Life counter app is that? 🤩
Moxtopper
Tnx❤@@thisjust10
49:10 doesn´t Ify has 3 card types in his graveyard since Skittering Invasion is a kindred sorcery?
Disa is just goyfing around
I need to work on my commander decks lol. Hopefully you play more mtg.
Wastescape battle mage is so good holy fuck
This is so fun!
when i started to play we had to ante up top card of deck before you could draw your hand.
almost like watching game knights. xD
What app do you guys use to keep track of life?
The app is called “Moxtopper”. I love it!
Moxtopper!
Liked, subscribed, and commented just for more commander.
Final act removing counters only affects players, not stuff on their board thankfully
Great game.
This is probably subjective, every time it went back to the overhead shot, it felt like it broke the 180-degree rule.
I'm probably just too use to how everyone else does it.
I had no idea Ify and Becca played Magic, I only know them from Dropout.
I do believe that because Iffy took those lands straight from Josephine's deck they should have been exiled when he was removed from the game.
19:30 never play this land, you always want to trash it so you can dredge. Especially in a graveyard deck lol
How could the Eldrazi Commander swing on the turn in which it was summoned? Someone educate me
The intro had me thinking that you guys just read these commanders for the first time. 😅

When players lost counters, their permanents don’t! The player has energy counters, the permanents have counters therefore the chalice wouldn’t have lost its counters
Whats the app they monitor the life?
Not sacrificing that elder at an opponents end step or just doing it in response to a block made me twitch a little 😅
What app do they use to count the lifes??
It's called Moxtopper but it's iOS only. For Android, Lifetap Life Counter for MTG is simpler but does the job.
Okay, but when are you going to get Sam to pay you to do this with those Dropout production values?
Seriously excited to watch this though.
Does anyone know which life tracker they're using?
Moxtopper!
