If I had a nickel for every time I watched Ify Nwadiwe play a Duskmourn precon commander deck today, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
This was the best Duskmourn Precon play-through I've ever seen! It was fantastic to watch the cards in action and see all the triggers unfold. The game pace was perfect, allowing us to fully appreciate, read, and experience the effects of each card. Well done
The Elvira-style opening and closing was absolutely SUPERB. 10/10 for playing into the bit. Also I spit my coffee at Ify as "The Swoltergeist" and will now be using that phrase regularly. Fantastic episode!
Im not sure that it was played right though.. Yedora causes a non-token to become a forest with no other abilities. It doesnt mean that forest can return back to its original format. Am I wrong here?
@@aereli1257 Yedora returns it *face down* as a forest. Zimone lets you turn any card face up. It doesn't matter that it's a forest when it's face down; turning it face up still works as expected. That Steve combo could have been even more gross if Becca did it twice on every other players turn to manifest dread and flip the manifest. Also, so here for swamp Ify

The combo with Steve AKA Sakura tribe elder is fun lol and you can do it on each player's turn too! 😅I love a value combo like this that doesn't just end the game. Also Amy's comment about library bottoms 🔥 lol
Better to leave the lands in. Then you can Sak Steve on each player’s turn so when it comes in as a land you manifest dread. That manifested creature is a land so it triggers ability for second time so you can turn Steve up (ready for next turn) then the land you fetched comes in and you turn the manifested card face up. If you are going this on each players turn you don’t really need all the basics on the field and then not having them in deck to fetch for the combo. True you can use a bunch of mana to turn manifested creatures up by why bother ?
Hey I'm new to magic and curious about an interaction because something felt a little broken. At 47:21 Becca's Ashaya dies it comes back as a forest facedown because of Yedora. Triggering Zimone to manifest dread. Which put a 2/2 creature onto the battlefield. Since Ashaya at this moment is just a forest wouldn't that not trigger landfall again to then turn Ashaya face up? Or was something else making that manifest creature trigger Zimone's second landfall?
But zooming out a little bit, it doesn't really affect anything because Becca affectively has infinite instant speed landfall triggers with the Zimone, Yedora, and Steve, so they could have flipped Ashaya up.
Would that infinite land thing Becca did at 16:40 actually work? I figured since the card specifies that is has no other type or ability it would negate that?
Not to mention, even if you don't count the facedown permanent as a land, sacking it also puts a land on the board, meaning that it is definitely an infinite

the flip is not an effect of the card, but an effect of Zimone. As we understand it, you couldn’t turn it face up for its mana cost, since it wasn’t manifested and has no abilities, but it still is a face down card that can be targeted by Zimone

Yeah Zimone can flip up whatever it wants as long as it's a permanent. Check scryfall or gathering for more info if you want! Also oddly manifest works different than morph and disguise.
