    What am amazing teacher. I'm a beginner playing for a year or two. It's so crazy how every string in one chord, strummed differently or with different rhythms can be altered to play so many tunes. Crazier that a little time and patience each day can transform me from someone the neighbors used to curse at, to now them knocking on my door so I can play for them. Whoever is learning out there, keep practicing a little and know youll break through to another level. Thanks for the great tips and lessons

    This was exactly what I was looking for. After getting my open chords down and learning to change between them I wanted something that can give me some variation and or something to actually play rather than just working through random changes. Awesome mix in here of stuff to work on in terms of rhythm and changing chord in time. Would love a video on the ones where you have given simplified versions to take them up to the next level.

    I feel I've found gold. I had listened to other guitar channels but I felt they were all missing something and they cudn't hold me. Not so this channel, this is the one for me, it has spoken to me lol. I've been playing guitar for maybe two years now but my tuition was halted by covid lockdown so really I'm pretty much self taught and there is so much I don't know. I'm a grandma but I love music and I love playing guitar and your channel is where I'll be learning from now on in. Thank you!

    It's pretty cool for you to keep it nice and basic. When I was starting out as a beginner I tried to learn when the man comes around by Johnny Cash, and it had a complicated pattern I could grasp. I didn't have an example of a basic version for me to play, got frustrated and stopped learning it :(
    I'm glad that beginners can turn here and see a way for them to start off, and then a way to get better :)

    So I initially learnt how to G with three fingers but actually now that I've practiced doing the four finger method, it actually feels and sounds better/fuller. Still need to practice the chord switching especially trying to force my ring finger to stay anchored when going from G to D or the C9 chord, most of these songs I don't really care for but it's all good practice :)
    I mostly like to play metal songs though but the chords are really useful and helps the fingers get stronger. Thanks for the free lessons

    • @suminshizzles6951
      @suminshizzles6951 2 года назад

      That 4 finger G is used in a few songs that i think you might like. Wish you were here by pink floyd. Wonderwall by Oasis. Alice in Chains also uses that 4 finger G a lot but they tend to drop all strings down a halfstep. AS in the low E string is now a D# (or Eb depending on how much of a technical prick want to be - at the end of the day they, D# and Eb are the same damn note)
      Still playing?

    You are correct,sir. Every Breath You Take is about a stalker. Sting says he was surprised to learn that it had become quite popular at weddings. Although there is no subtly about the lyrics whatsoever, they're often misinterpreted to be romantic. Of course SOME people's idea of romance IS stalking,so......I suppose that,to THOSE people,the lyrics really ARE romantic.

    Man, honestly.... thank you for this content! I'm a returning guitar player after a 15 year hiatus - I've been browsing youtube looking for refreshers and reminders on little things that I've forgotten over the years and stumbled upon your page. I can honestly say you were meant to be an instructor, If you ever would consider doing personalized lessons online - zoom, skype, discord, whatever.... PLEASE Let me know as I've recently fell back in love with guitar and I would really like to continue expanding my knowledge and skills. However one issue I have found is: I'm just not sure exactly where I should place myself within your lesson structure seeing as I've learned some of this stuff when I was a kid, some things I naturally figured out, not that you're doing a bad job because I would recommend your videos to people that genuinely have never held a guitar... I do have 4-5 years of self taught experience so I'm not quite a beginner but not very advanced...
    Anyways man, hit me up with a reply or a DM, I've subscribed.
    Thank you for your effort.

    I’m trying to motivate my daughter to want to actually pick up the brand new guitar that she asked me to buy her but she gets freaked out with thinking there’s a thousand chords you would need to know to even play guitar. I tried to explain to her that if you listen to a lot of these songs out there, (even the popular ones that she’s familiar with) most likely only three or four chords are used throughout the entire song (unless it goes elsewhere in the song with a different chord progression). Knowing that I can share your video with her may very well be an eye opener. Also, the fact that later in the video you are demonstrating how the pitch changes by using a Capo without changing the chord patterns you provided or the need for Bar Chording ( in higher Keys) which may come to her, later. Guess I’m buying her a Capo after she watches this video once she understands how just these four chords are used in many songs and gets back to wanting to play. I play mandolin an guitar myself so anytime she’d want to know other chord patterns I’d be more than happy to show her. But again, I have to get her motivated with this video! Thanks for taking the time to post this ! I hope all is continuing to go Well with you and your family during this pandemic! I’ll keep you posted!

    This is a really good lesson. I see you are a 90s rock fan like me! This is great for me to practice chord progressions & strum patterns. Thank you for making it easier for beginners.

    You took everything I learned the hard way, and put it in a blender, to mix it up for fun.
