Wow! Great collection of technology! I had no idea how the Fantasy machine works-now i do. Thanks for sharing. Great comparison very useful information. I am just getting started with a Raytech from ebay. I will be back for more of your content i am sure.
Great overview of the machines, I shared it with our Discord group because there are several folks wanting to learn faceting and get machines. This should help a lot of folks. Thanks for sharing this!
It’s interesting that the majority cutters in Thailand use the hand piece for the gemstones differently to Sri Lanka where the French Dutch styles are preferred, but it takes a lifetime to master that. Personally I prefer the American style to get a perfect result. But than again it’s ambiguous the native style V modern cuts, meaning the understanding of get the most attractive cut of the mineral stone. It’s all so complicated
What about the Fac-Ette Gem Master. I believe that it should at least be mentioned. The Fac-Ette and the Faetron come out of the same shop and the Ultra tec is known as fantastic by the community so I am not implying anything about quality of machines. I just feel it is a dis service not to mention the Gem Master.
I am discussing machines that I currently own and have used. I haven’t used a Fac-ette nor do I own one. I have heard great things about them but I am not going to voice my opinion without first hand experience.
i need to get out of doubts, can you live comfortably faceted gemstones in the united states ? can you please be frank and what kind of stones are sold more often ?
I like my home made faceting machine, designed and made by myself. it cuts a wide range of gemstone cabs, flat faceting and concave faceting trim saw too 2 type hand pieces included, not my designed . The hole making it is all a one unit.
Bro, I just about dropped my pizza when you said London. You should join the London Gem, Mineral & Fossil Society, we have a few facetors and want more! I assume you’re in the North York Faceting Guiild?
WOW!!! THANKS FOR GIVING US A LITTLE LOOK AT THESE AWESOME FACETING MACHINES!!!... I'VE ONLY DONE CAB GRINDIND, BY HAND,... THIS LOOKS LIKE IT'D BE REALLY INTERESTING!!!

Also have a homemade facet machine, although a one-off 3D printed, including the protractor and index.
