This video is amazing and really helped my performance. However, I must say one thing. If you do any sort of sniping you will want to turn your "Overall Visibility" right up, at least to 3000. There are plenty of tests to show by other YT'ers and streamers that if you have it set low as you do here at 10:01 - players characters and scavs will not render in above a certain distance. I would also just love to say that the beginning of this video is the most important part imo and should be the focus of most people. There are a lot of "Tarkov settings" guides and what you can do within Tarkov to enhance performance is really limited compared to what you can do in Windows, and not a lot of people cover that portion of it in my experience. We recommend keeping it 1000 meters" you just had to google it, mate. as I've said there are plenty of videos by other prominent and professional tarkov players proving what I have said, go watch them.
It's important to note that reducing your graphics settings will either not do anything or even decrease overall performance for CPU Bound (meaning CPU bottlenecked) computers, especially if you have a good graphics card. Personally, I have an Acer Nitro 5 with an i5 10300H cpu and a rtx 2060 gpu. I find that increasing my hbao, ssr, textures and anisotropic filtering actually improves my performance as the graphics card ends up being utilized more, taking a load off of the cpu.
This video along with this comment has changed how my game performs. I set hbao, ssr, textures, and shadows on the highest and my game runs alot better. Thanks for the help!
I followed your guide and managed to double my frames in tarkov. This is huge especially after the new update where solo PVE is now on a local server. Cheers !
This video is amazing. Previously, on the Forest map I had a maximum FPS of 40, but with these settings it’s 65-70 FPS. At Customs, the FPS also increased from 45-50 to 70 FPS. It helped me a lot and all the advice does not radically change the system, but on the contrary, it speeds up its work. Thanks to the author for this guide, he is not only a pro in Tarkov, but also a good REAL guide for increasing productivity.
I'll add to this and say if you NEVER get above a certain amount of FPS, it's good to cap the fps in nvidia control panel to what you can maintain most of the time. the frame timings and pacing will give you less stutters and more smoothness in gameplay.
Thats fair. I cap because I feel like theres no need to have higher than what my monitor refresh rate is, but ive seen pros and cons to both cap and uncapped
@@ESC_Aces having your gpu fully utilized will give you bad frame timings and input lag. you only want 95% utilization, max. 100% utilization, even if you get slightly more fps, is worse for latency.
Everything from switching between Main Menu to Hideout, to loading times of Hideout itself, to menus and responsiveness in-raid has significantly improved. Awesome work on these settings. It's like I'm finally seeing the strength of the RTX 4070 with my Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-core now.

Step 1 does absolutely nothing for you. Nothing wrong with startup apps unless you don’t use them. Clearing temp files does nothing unless you’re low on space. Clearing prefetch makes apps load SLOWER. Shadow play barely has an impact, but can have conflicts with other screen cap softwares. -clearing logs does nothing unlesss you’re low on space
@@Xanaduu step 1 literally does *NOTHING* for tarkov. you're changing parameters for the LAUNCHER, not tarkov itself. Clearing logs/temp files does literally nothing for performance unless, as stated, you are running low on disk space. Shadowplay impact is minimal (5% avg, at most 10%,) but your recordings will look like trash if you dont dial in the recording bitrate and as stated clearing* Prefetch makes programs load SLOWER, which is the exact opposite of the goal. Sure, following all steps, people might see a performance improvement, but definitely not from THESE steps.

2:33 theres actually a hidden setting in power plan called "ultimate performance" for higher end gpu's to draw more power, i forget how to unlock but its very simple
Nice guide. Lost my game settings because my windows was bricked and had to reinstall. Game was sort of running fine. LH 80-90 and 40fps zoomed on a 30mm scope. Didnt expect the windows opt guide. Played another LH run and had ~150fps running around and 100 scoped in.

SO! To test out the fps from mimicking everything you told me to do... I seen 132 fps! NEVER have I seen anything close! So to test even FURTHER! I did an offline raid in factory on horde with the boss enabled... That always tanked my comp to 5 fps and I was running around almost 60 fps! Even got to kill tagilla. Was great thanks a lot.

It seemed fixed but 3 days ago I had the case of being locked at 50-60fps during a raid (my 5th of 6th raid of the day) and had to restart the game to get my usual 100+ so I'm not sure it's really fixed sadly...@@TwiggehTV

In my case it caused of halting display (game was still running, i could hear sound of me moving) in first raid. I dont't recommend touching that setting at all.
Some good tips here for general PC maintenance, BUT i have to say that "keeping your graphics drivers up to date" is the worst advice anyone can give in PC gaming. Different driver releases perform differently for each game. the difference can be absolutely massive. Always look up which driver is best for the game you are playing, more often than not you will find better FPS and smoothness on older drivers unless its a brand new game, so a driver Roll-back is usually better.
do you need to buy "process lasso" to use it? cuz everytime i launch it says that i gotta purchase it, and im not sure if it still effects like before giving me 20-30+ fps, its kinda less and not always working, even tho i did the same thing in the video

High precision event timer does not give you more fps, when you turn it off windows cant accurately calculate your fps, so it just tells you its higher when its actually not👍

SSR is required for properly lighting your game. It provides an essential glow around foliage like under trees, giving depth to the black void that is Tarkovs lighting.
Guys, don't fucking test your FPS in offline raids. Whenever people say shit like ''I went from 60 FPS to 100!!'' that's because they're in an offline raid with no AI spawned in.

"Overall Visibility" is only changing the LOD scaling. Higher number = higher quality of detail at longer distance

I’m gna struggle with that reason. 240hz monitor here. Also gotta play with “vsync” enabled just to get above the max of 144 without

Not even lying on a 14900k and 4090 I went from 60 fps to 120 and dropped an average of about 6 degrees in cpu temps.
Should definitely have a better warning for disabling HPET, a lot of things rely on that setting being on.

Most likely was your HPET setting in the device manager.
why textures and shadows medium and high? isnt better low low ? even for more visibility i think shadow at low is better.

Ever since i did all the steps all the time a lot of the items have unloaded pictures and so 75% of the items are just a loading icon
