- Let's go Exploring Budapest! I filmed 4K City Walks: Budapest, Hungary Nyugati Pályaudvar Train Station - Virtual Walk Treadmill City Guide as a free city walking tour around the Nyugati Palyaudvar or Nyugati Train station. I kind of fell in love with this building's ornate design and colorful brickwork. And then I found out it was designed and built by the Eifel company from France.
I'm your tour guide on this free walking tour around downtown Budapest, HU. It's a bustling, historic, beautiful city on the Danube River. This free tour Budapest starts near the Danube and the Parliament buildign downtown and meanders through the historic area towards Nyugati Train Station and West Point mall and is a great treadmill video.

Wikipedia:
Nyugati pályaudvar (English: Western railway station), generally referred to simply as Nyugati, is one of the three main railway terminals in Budapest, Hungary. The station is on the Pest side of Budapest, accessible by the 4 and 6 tramline and the M3 metro line.
The station was planned by August de Serres and was built by the Eiffel Company. It was opened on 28 October 1877. Previously another station stood in its place, the end station of Hungary's first railway line, the Pest-Vác line (constructed in 1846).
The station gave name to the immediately adjacent Western Square ('Nyugati tér'), a major intersection where Teréz körút (Theresia Boulevard), Szent István körút (Saint Stephen Boulevard), Váci út (Váci Avenue), and Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út (Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Avenue) converge. The square also serves as a transport hub with several bus routes, tram routes 4 and 6, and a station on M3 of the Budapest Metro.
Budapest Nyugati train station
Since 2007 state railway MÁV has operated regular services between the terminal and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport Terminal 1, although Terminal 1 has been closed since 2012 and all departures and arrivals have been consolidated in Terminal 2A and 2B, which is 4 kilometers away by airport bus 200E.
Beside the terminal and partially above its open area there is the WestEnd City Center shopping mall. Inside the station is a McDonald's restaurant which opened in 1988 described by tourism brochures as the "most elegant" McDonald's in the world.

Beautiful Hungary! Nice weather! Thank you for sharing:)
It was very nice weather indeed. Thanks for watching and commenting - Henry
You are right, the architecture of the station is very beautiful. Regarding the trains it's also very helpful that it is obviously no prob to take a bike with you. Thanks very much for sharing this walk! ☺👍
Thanks for watching. i thought this one might be a bit more popular but it's not getting many views. Not sure why but the whims of RUclips are often hard to parse. Thanks for the comment. -Henry
@@CityWalks Anyway, we appreciated your Budapest walks! ☺👍
I remembered my young years there. beautiful train station no longer fits with this new project, it starts to collapse, this is not the world i saw 1978. thanks
Ho wow. Thanks. -H

Thank you for sharing with us
👍👍👍
Beautiful architecture!
Yeah, I'm not sure why I was so enthralled by this building but I just found it to be so ornate and beautiful. -Henry
The Nyugati or Western Train station on Budapest is built by the Eiffel Architectural Office. Not accidental, both the Margaret Bridge (built by the same office) and the Western Train Station have great influence by the french architecture, especially Gustave Eiffel, (of couse his name known mainly by the famous Eiffel Tower of Paris, but he have several works on other places of the world, as on Budapest also).... I found this Train Station is unique, because Budapest's architecture mainly Central European, following the Viennese line of historism, but this building here is very french. Thanks for the clip!
Again, thanks for the wonderful additional information. We stayed in an apartment only a few hundred meters from here. I loved walking by there when I got groceries or headed to the bridge. Such a beautiful building. - H
This is not French, but rather appropriate for Budapest. The Eastern Trail Courtyard was built and designed by a Hungarian artist, and it is similar to this, as the appearance of the building is different in form. So I wouldn't say French
Really great walk! Thank you! : )
Thanks. -Henry
@@CityWalks You're welcome!
ohh .. first scenes.. go good train^^ 16:16 so beautiful. cinematic views
Thanks so much. So glad you enjoyed the short tour. I usually like to make the walks longer but I just love this building and wanted to share it. -Henry
Absolutely incredible architecture- so expansive and magnificent❣️Love the wide boulevards. All of your Budapest videos show such a sophisticated city. Thanks for enlightening me!
Glad you like them! If you ever get a chance, please visit it. Especially during the Christmas holidays. -H
I did my Erasmus in Budapest last semester and lived right next to Nyugati station. In fact you took this video one day before my birthday, maybe I'm there somewhere :D
Anyway, thanks for making this great video but also screw you for making me so sad and nostalgic for not being there anymore :P
Hah. Sorry we missed each other! Glad you enjoyed it. -H
Since the metro line is closed for reconstruction where are the nearest ticket machines for public transport at Nyugati station?
Hi Chris, hopefully someone with more recent info can help. I will say the taxis and Bolt are very handy. Most of the central part of the city is very walkable if you aren't toting a bunch of luggage around. -H
ik don't like to life in the city but ik am in love for Budapest,
