In case anyone is on the fence about checking it out: The trailer is really good at showcasing how good artstyle, voice acting and the story is (the game doesn't pull any punches and is very reminiscent of Tactics Ogre or OG FF Tactics in seriousness of war). About the gacha: it's completely possible to ignore the gacha aspect completely and enjoy this game to the fullest. The game even features a branching path "story mode" that you can choose to bring gacha units but otherwise can play with the story units only. Being a f2p and playing regularly you should easily be able to pull for your desired unit too. I'd also like to highlight how good and lenient the daily farming is. It doesn't take much more than 15-30min to sweep the extra daily rewards, grab your farmables and leave (I usually do it before bed). You then can come back to enjoy the actual gameplay when you have the time. The game has a stamina system but is quite generous with it (don't autoclaim rewards so that you can get the energy pots when you're playing a lot). And again, the "story mode", Spiral of Destinies, doesn't even require energy to play. I really love this game and I can see how much love and effort was put into the writing and art. Gameplay isn't as deep or as customizable as the aforementioned FFT or TO, being closer to what Fire Emblem brings to the table but I couldn't recommend it enough if you like Tactical strategy games, even if you (rightfully) despise gachas.
For anybody wondering about the quality of the game, the EXACT same composer that did Final Fantasy Tactics' OST did the music for this game, and it shows.
For context this mode is completely separate from the gacha portion of the game. Characters and equipment you use is entirely from this mode and there are no microtransactions involved. Think of it like a separate game in the game, if that makes any sense. I'd say it's worth a try as you can completely ignore the gacha/predatory elements and it's completely free to try.

Honestly Sword of Convalaria is one of the more friendly F2P gachas iver played. Carry over pity mechanics, a TON of currency from events an they have had lots of updates.
