I called OSHA on one of my old jobs because they really thought we were gonna climb on loose steel shelves (the grated shelves used to hold pallets on the tall orange steel in almost every warehouse) to get to product. They also had the loose orange steel laying around haphazardly to the point where the hooks to connect them would catch on your clothes or even skin. Had pallets standing up. Yeah OSHA is pretty toothless if nobody is literally dying. I use to work as a fedex ground delivery driver. I reported my warehouse because people were constantly, and i mean constantly spraining ankles, tripping and gashing their legs (one time deep enough to see the muscle), having to fenagel things on the engine our own selves which caused one guy to have the skin on the back of his hand completely removed; he had to get a skin graph and his hand never fully recovered. OSHA didn't do a damn thing, not even so much as a letter. I never got any emails or calls, but the agent I spoke to before I made my report said I would get.
