Carrie, I’m seeing this after Christmas but enjoyed this video. I’m so happy that I stumbled upon your site some months ago. You remind me of my cousin who lived in Jacksonville prior to her passing. I have other family still there in Jacksonville and I used to travel there to spend the summer when I was younger, living in Florida. I just love watching the southern ways of cooking. Reminds me of back in the days of my mother’s cooking ☺️. Thank you for sharing your cooking with us. I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and I hope you have a Happy New Year and look forward to what you will be bringing in 2023.

You had me at "My candied yams, I like'em sweet." I make sweet potatoes, candied, they taste like candy to me. I haven't made candied yams, I guess I have to now, lol. Thank you, Ms. Carrie, Blessings to you and yours. I love cinnamon and nutmeg too. Those 2 seasonings scream the holidays to me, no matter what time of year it is.

Trues yams are imported from Africa. Yams and sweet potatoes are two different things. Yams are starchy like a regular potato with a drier flesh. They can be found in a specialty store. Carriibean and African markets would probably have them.

Your Southern cooking and your meal looked delicious...I am from Ontario Canada so our Christmas meal is a little different...Our dressing is more bread based and no eggs or meat...I've never had macaroni and cheese for Christmas...your way of making it is very different from mine...I make a rue and then cheese sauce...I'm going to try your way as I think it would be fabulous...I'm cooking a ham for New Years and will make Mac and cheese your way,..I did a standing rib roast a couple days ago and did it like you did with the salt and pepper crust...I make yorkshire pudding and gravy out of the drippings...I've really enjoyed your channel and did subscribe and look forward to more videos.

This is my first time watching your channel and love it! My mom makes some of the best sweet potato casserole with what I call “praline topping” which is the mixture of brown sugar; sugar; cinnamon and pecans and it’s amazing! I had to laugh when you mentioned the poultry seasoning. My dad, who recently passed would buy poultry seasoning at Thanksgiving; Christmas and Easter. After he passed after Easter. I was helping mom with organizing her pantry and we must’ve found at least 10-12 bottles of poultry seasoning with a little out of every container. 😂. My family cooks candie sweet potatoes on top of the stove, comes out perfectly. Also have some in the crock pot on low. Perfect, but I only do that if there is alot of people coming

Hello Ms. Carrie!! You just surfaced on my radar, I totally enjoyed this video, you are a great cook and everything looks amazing!! I make my mac and cheese very similar but I love to add the chopped onion, I have never heard of adding sour cream but I am willing to give it a try. Ohhh the dressing is definitely everything!! Never heard of squash casserole either, would love to try that also, easy candied yams, yummy!!! I suggest you use top off another container the size of that container with the holes in it that's what I do when I buy stuff without holes in it look at your seasons that you almost out of them and use the top wash it and use the top

Hi new friend I just happen upon your video..may I suggest that you put your cinnamon in a salt /pepper shaker, it makes applying much easier

For the potatoes, why not just strain all the water from the pot rather than individually spoon in potatoes into the pan?
