We should’ve gotten a Mafia 2 remake like Mafia 1 than a lazy remaster.
It's barely even a remaster It's more of a port
It just needed the bugs fixed, and add an open world post game. The game is fine.

Only if they added whatever the developers left out for the original Mafia 2 like melee weapons etc onto the definitive edition. Mafia 2 definitive edition was super buggy. I even contacted 2K about it and they just tell me to restart the game and it should be fixed like bruh.
I got the same support ticket, and then filed a case with the BBB.
That's anotuer reason to hate publishers

Something to do with upscaling textures. For some reason it always breaks the game.
The game is not remastered.
In an alternate universe, Take-Two Interactive higher-ups tell Haden Blackman to remake Mafia I due to Mafia III's poor critical response. Take-Two refuse to give Hangar 13 the green light for Mafia IV or their own concept, until the Mafia I remake is made. As a response to this, the Mafia I remake comes out in 2018 or 2019. Take-Two then decide that an in-house remaster of Mafia II should be made, and this is completed by Hangar 13 themselves, mainly the Czech studios who have discovered old game files. Mafia II Remastered releases as an extended cut of the original game in 2020 or 2021.

I got the platinum for this game and moved on really fast after collecting 189 wanted posters.
This is why I'm glad I got the original Xbox 360 deluxe version with a steel case, the whole soundtrack on a vinyl style CD and a booklet with concept art used for a few bucks. And it runs on my One S absolutely perfectly
If you don't play on the highest difficulty level, at least for me, not all bugs are there.
Still waiting for my "ownership bonuses" in Mafia II and Mafia III.
I got mine in II but never in I and III......
I didn't really had any problems with remaster, except just one visual bug when I had to buy fancier suit and Vitos head in cutscene was like at 0:07 just without hat. And then at the end of chapter 14 I ragequit again just like in Classic Edition because the door to pay back Bruno can't be accessed even after 4 - 5 restarts of whole chapter.

I was happy to encounter.. I think 0 bugs (at least what I realized).. during playing Mafia 2 R. Was really happy and I liked it.
The original still the best and its sad in the remastered they forgot lots of things to put the cut content back in remastered sad they didnt put and if they prefer to forgot this game like other studios they make with they games then they will lose lots of fans i just say my oppinion

Played it once: the only pro is that graphics are now proper, but there are still buildings that are ps3-level blurry. Italian dub version is even worse, in chapter 14 when you escape with Joe the dialog is messed up, no way to know what they're talking about.

Did anybody else have that weird bug where's a bright light on top of the observatory in the middle of the road which keeps expanding over the entire map and forces the game to crash? Kinda like the super nova😂

I’m still trophy stuck on the trophy where you have to keep all the leaders alive at the board meeting at the very end of the game. Followed every single trophy guide and still the same outcome no trophy

I didn't know M2 Remaster was hated, I honestly played this game 4 times and I still haven't encountered anything close to these bugs.

Anybody else have the bug where the newspaper boys won’t speak their lines and NPCs won’t have dialogue audio with each other? And that all female Dipton Apparel employees use the hurt/death male audio?
I swear the only thing they added was new lighting and that’s it, really wish it was like mafia 1

As a community we should try to find someone who can buy the rights to mafia 2 and give us a proper remake
I originally played Mafia II on PS3, and so for me, the remaster was a huge step up. Unlike XBox 360 and PC, the PS3 version had to downscale its graphics. This meant no animals like birds and rats, no blades of grass, no moving cloth, secret off map areas were blocked off unlike with XBox360, and the game had a weird green filter. All that was rectified for the PS4 remaster and it made, for me anyway, a more immersive experience. There were also graphics updates, in the city, and with eyes and hair.
Is it perfect? Nope!!! It's ridiculous the glitches never got patched. And I miss the WW2 hero pack. I always liked to do the first couple missions with Vito wearing his WW2 uniform. Can't play with that now, Take Two had to make way for Tommy and Lincoln's stupid outfits (and their cars).
But overall for me, the remastered edition is an improvement over the PS3 we were stuck with for years.
And nobody reached out to the devs for a proper update…

I got a question about trainer mod.Can you use it with FInal cut mod or it needs to be clean mafia 2?IF so can anyone give me some patch for mafia 2 classic or trainer that works with Final cut
no joke ive never experienced a single one of these bugs in both my playthroughs.
The Tommy and Lincoln outfits trigger some of the bugs in the cutscenes but everyone will experience the Leo eyes bug cutscene.
@@MafiaGameVideos i will admit i did have the Leo bug eyes one and i never wore the Tommy Angelo suit so that one probably would happen. but the others? never happened. had a nice experience and actually prefer the remaster over the OG
@@ThunderShot66 Why would you prefer the "remaster" over the original? How is it better in any way? It's far more glitchier, maybe you didn't pay attention or just somehow didn't experience the same bugs definitely most people experienced.
The remaster (more like demaster) is just simply awful. They were lazy and did poor job. Frankly it's insulting to the original game if you prefer this new version, all they did was adding some different textures and lighting. And somehow added tons of glitches and bugs which didn't exist in the original game.
I have played both, and I say it again, the remaster is actually the worst remaster/remake I have ever seen (even in GTA SA/Vice City/III remakes they fixed some bugs and now those games are playable and look decent). Seriously, modders did better job for free with Mafia II than the people who worked with Definitive edition.
It's simply SHAMELESS!
@@_Daniel_Plainview i just prefer the upgraded visuals and didn't run into the game breaking bugs or crashes that ive heard spoken of. ive played the OG Mafia 2 countless times and beaten the remaster twice and prefer the remaster.

Plus scripts still duplicate in Chapter 14 when you exit the construction site with Joe. That's why I still prefer original version.

Mafia II Classic is better, 'cause here we not have a lot of bugs and glitches. In Mafia II: Definitive Edition there is a lags on some moments, broken in-game scripts... That's kinda sad😢
I honestly say this: mostly, I see most of these bugs, but I was lucky to beat the game, and even dlcs too. But honestly, I would and still play original rather than this.

There’s some terrible glitches that make it almost impossible to play. There’s one mission two in fact. Maybe three one you can fall through the map at a specific point and there’s no way of avoiding it no matter what way you go.. the other is where you go to save Leo the gate won’t crash open you need to instead get there very fast and get out the car and open it which it won’t always let you do.. there’s a way you can restart your ps3 and fixes it.. seriously the remaster game is horrible… which is depressing af because mafia 2 is my favourite game
Seriosly, Mafia 2 was better on PS 3 WITHOUT patches, than this ,, rebroken remaster " with ton of patches. How can this be ? Anyway, this game need REMAKE, better if with all cut features and levels. It would be the great game, and brought a lot of good hours to us gamers, and lot of good profits to developers. So, why not ?

I never played the game long enough to know just how fucked the game was. First car ride with joe had me turn it off coz audio sounded like it was coming through a tin can.

I had him in his brown leather jacket throughout the entire game.
Your telling me this game got passed inspection before releasing no way they missed this many mistakes it obviously got released like this on purpose and the fact that they never fixed it with updates proves they didn’t care from the beginning it was a easy quick money making project.
I'm playing the Mafia 2 DLCs these days... The game is still poorly optimized and full of bugs
