Sopranos Road to Respect walked so the Yakuza franchise could run
Yakuza came out first. It was more so inspired by Shenmue.
Except yakuza is good and it came before this, this game is a straight up scam, everything feels clunky and the gameplay is just...bad
The fact that a Sopranos tie in game has gameplay more inspired by Yakuza than GTA or Mafia is pretty funny

The year this game came out, I got it for Christmas from my brother-in-law who knew I was a fan. I got home from his house on Christmas Day, popped it in the PS2 and I beat it in about 3 hours. I know you didn’t review the gameplay but it is a MONOTONOUS button-masher. It requires no skill other than being able to tap-tap-tap. It’s like Dance Dance Revolution with gabagool.
Man that sucks getting a game like this for xmas, Did it turn you off from gaming? I got games like the legend of Zelda and final fantasy for Xmas.

This was the worst Fucken game of all time , I felt like I was violated as I played it, nothing but voice cut scenes and beating people up , story is decent I guess but it’s just bad , bad bad bad all the way threw , whoever bought this game might as well burnt their money for warmth.

If David Chase says it's not canon, I believe it's not canon.
That being said, he himself violates canon by making Tony a teenager during the Newark riots, as opposed to the elementary school kid we see in the series.

I managed to grab this game for my PS2 for $5 and beat the whole thing in 3hrs.
Had fun, little surprised you didn't mention the alternate ending if you lose all respect, Kino. What happens is Tony and Paulie whack Joey on a boat, just like Pussy, followed by Game Over.

Played this game with my friend last December because we were curious how bad it was. I don't think there was a single moment where we weren't laughing or getting frustrated with how psychotic the game was

It doesn’t make sense for Chris to act that deranged due to jealousy over Tony, but the game makes a good point still: everyone is so petty, one guy is willing to set you up to die because he’s jealous that you’ll win his boss’ heart. The boss, meanwhile, doesn’t give a fuck about you.
This game was actually my first exposure to The Sopranos. I love this game and the show.
I actually played this game when I was like 7 and never even knew it was a show at the time. But years later I watch the series and I love it, one of the best shows ever.

I remember getting this game when I got this when I was 8 in an easter basket of all thing. One thing I wished you covered was the payment and respect system. If you used your gun to much eventually you'd get whacked by Tony and Paulie

Rockstar should buy the rights to the game and remake it, use dialogue from the show to pad it out into a full game.
It's worth taking into consideration that the way the characters were portrayed in the series doesn't necessarily reflect the despicable things they could've done off screen. Christopher could've totally been a giant scumbag off screen in ways that would make his character unlikeable, more like how he's portrayed in the video game

@@HOTD108_ I’ve noticed most games that are garbage (like this one) are usually way more fun and even memorable by a younger audience that ends up playing it the most. For me it was the same way with Sonic 06. I was running around talking about my adoration for all aspects of that game and then read the reviews and was shocked.

I actually liked the game. If the gameplay was a bit deeper I’d have enjoyed it more but I’m probably in the minority. The fighting is a bit repetitive but it’s charming in it’s own way

I know this is an April Fools video but still I wanna comment some of my thoughts.
Ofc the game is ridicilous since they had to shoehorn violence in one way or another.
I agree that Christopher is shown way too aggresive and even traitorous but I can kinda see his frustration. Joey rised up the ranks way quicker than him (which is the game's pacing's fault, lets be serious), which bothered Christopher in earlier seasons that why wasn't he made yet. And Joey is the son of a rat so that frustrated and made him jealous even more. The rest of the crew had their doubts too even if they were not that evil. Tony and Joey bonded when he said he didn't talk about AJ's party because he wouldn't turn his back on someone which made Tony realize that he is different than his father.
Oh and another thing they got wrong is how Vito was in Bing hanging around with girls. You might say he is trying to blend in but I really don't think so.
Even with its ridicilous faults and being a shovelware I enjoyed it. The cast getting involved in it was a big surprise as well.
Yeah if it was executed better and you actually got to interact with the character more, it would have been a good story for Christopher. Also I was going to do a section of the video on all of Vito's gay innuendos, but the video was getting too long as it was

Nice video brother! I remember this game from back in the day and I almost bought it but I remember thinking it was just going to be another generic beat ‘em up like what they did with The Godfather games. Looks like I was right.
I like to say that this game can be set in the gta universe itself. It makes sense that Joey LaRocca isn’t a character that exists in the Sopranos show itself. But there are the Sopranos glorified crew that exists in the gta universe. Maybe set in the fictional country of Vespuccia. Somewhere in the Americas. It makes sense that Italian explorers contribute colonization for the Spanish and Portuguese empires themselves. And so maybe there’s a sopranos gang that exists. Also it can make the wire characters exists in the same gta universe.

Always thought it was funny how David Chase had such a firm hold on the set of The Sopranos, but he let literally anything be made based on his work as long as it wasn’t in the actual show.

Ayo Mr Kino, so another really good serious you could do is Peaky Blinders. That shit is fire and seems like the kinda shit you could really analyze. Also, the character development is super gnar, and the storyline is a bit more climactic compared to the other series you have been working on. That's not to say that the sopranos and your breaking bad vids aren't fire, they fye. But I really do hope that you could take a gander at Peaky Blinders its goes hard.

If I had known this game existed I’d probably would have bought it since I loved the show so much. I would have been around 16-17 when this game came out and when I had a ps2. I never even knew about it however.
The opening cinematic gave me Driv3r vibes with those visuals.

If you want a good movie/tv show game, play The Godfather game or Scarface: The World Is Yours. Both are sort of knockoffs of GTA-style gameplay, but they're both pretty good for tie-in licensed games.
