I just got one this fall and love it, I need to set it up off the ground in my trailer as well, it does a good job for the price, have had good luck with the brand, like there 3600 gen, love the dog, liked and sub
I got one and love it so far.MIne's a 7 ton but for the life of me I can't find the difference between the two.Thought about a big one but I only split 3-4 cords a year, and just couldn't justify a 25-35 ton. It's lightweight, has a small footprint for storage and has split everything I've put thru it so far( some big oak pieces) with no problems so far , except the poor fluid vent design. You have to be sure to keep it level or on the uphill on the wedge side a little. It runs for a long time on a tank of gas. When it goes off warranty I think I will have my friend weld a wedge with a higher profile, maybe 2 inches higher as I think this would cut down on having to run some pieces twice to separate the split. I also keep a piece of 2x4 handy on pieces that need to have the ram go all the way as it stops a couple inches short of the wedge. If you are splitting by yourself it is plenty fast despite the slower cycling time and I would say it's much safer than a big one. Got mine at tractor supply for $658 but you can get one on Amazon for $599 if you trust the shipping on something like this. I split in small batches, it's perfect for me.
Now it like 650------750 0r more! But, I'm thinking it would be all the splitter I would need for my use. Looked at a 25 ton today at Tractor Supply, 1499.00 , So about half the cost 9ton splitter would be. Not ask them about cost of it yet. Anyway, Thanks for your thoughts on it...
Any idea how long it would take to do approx a pickup load with this splitter? I'm looking for something I can leave on my tailgate and split into my trailer when I go to pickup rounds

Thanks. I wanted to know how good a cheap one would be. I’ve used Champion a lot and really like the brand.
Mine is on it's way to cut up Red Mesquite and Pecan wood here in South Texas...🙌
Did you say you paid $150 ?
A new 9 hp is $1200 up here in Canada
