People in the comments are just complaining for the sake of it. This guy is not saying that Minecraft has to turn into an over the top RPG style game where you are forced to explore. Instead he is suggesting updates for the playerbase who like to explore. Hes not saying that everyone here should be forced to explore or something, hes just noting that the people who want to explore often might feel underwhelmed by it.
Not true, I love exploring, my main problem with the video is the guy thinking that everything that is added should be connected with the "main progression" aka beating the dragon and getting Elytras, when the magic of the game is exploring and chilling not thinking in rushing to the End, spend some time in a Trail Ruin or sneaking in an Ancient City or fighting mobs in a Trial Chamber or looking for tridents in the Ocean or trying to collect all the armor trim templates or finding all the new wolfs. For people that loves exploring every update have been wonderful, now this "main progression" should be changed? it depends, it could be improved in some way, but the fact that it hasnt changed doesnt mean that the latest updates lacks of purpose or felt empty.
You're right. I do now take back that this update felt empty and underwhelming, it's actually pretty good! And you are right that some of my ideas would force players to complete certain tasks before beating the Ender Dragon, which while it may be something I would like to see, a lot of people wouldn't. But that matter of the fact is this, there needs to be more reasons to explore. Armor trims did this perfectly, giving a reason to travel to almost every structure. Trial chambers exclusively hold the materials to make the mace. We simply need more features like these that encourage exploration. My point on "there's no reason to explore" was pointing out how there's little drive to explore. The solution I offer? Well how about we add certain features to allow the player to progress beyond the Ender Dragon. To kill two birds with one stone, let's say the player has to travel around their world in order to get better gear. Would this compromise the sandbox side of Minecraft? No, it would give more value to the gear you would receive after having to go through the effort to obtain it. What if the trial chambers were as hard as the Ancient City? All the sudden it gives the mace more value. This is what I'm arguing we need to see more of in Minecraft. So to your point, I do take back some of what I said when it comes to lengthening the time it takes to defeat the Ender Dragon, but I do believe we still need more exploration options.
@@All_About_Random agreed. Even simple things like making players get rabbit hide (which never had a use) for bundles. Simple things like these could really boost exploration
A bit from the pvp perspective: I wouldnt say that Im a pvp god or something, since Im not good at sword and axe pvp. My main is crystal pvp. There have been good and bad changes in this update. I first like the 1.21 update content alot. I love the new trial chamber since I tried them myself, and immediatly fell in love with the amount of combat you are confronted with. So I am overall happy with the update, since the previous updates (1.19, 1.20) felt lackluster in comparison. The only thing I actually liked about 1.19 was the ancient city. 1.20 is, atleast in my opinion, one of the most forgettable updates of all time. That's why 1.21 feels so refreshing. Lets actually take a look at combat now. You now have to wear multiple armor pieces of blast protection and fire protection to get the effect you would get in previous versions from a single armor piece. This affects cpvp, since you now have to wear more than one armorpiece with blast protection to take less knockback. I dont really think that's a downside though, since it only affects tierlist. I also think that the game has much much better performance now, since the game is now so fluid and...idk, just feels better. That's all I got to say about 1.21.
A couple of criticisms. I believe netherite and any other endgame armor should be separate choices rather than progression upon the previous ones. It allows more diverse playstyles and netherite is already so op that it removes a lot of threat from the game. I will agree that a lot of structures are lacking purpose, but the trial chambers do have a purpose. An entirely new weapon and pvp playstyle is the loot from them with wind charges and the mace. Same with bastions and netherite smithing templates. Compare that to ancient cities that only have armor trims, sculk, and swift sneak. Trial chambers are a step up, especially since they are multiplayer compatible. Also the idea of the ender eyes coming from all the locations just makes the game tedious. Structures SHOULD be optional, because many of them are not multiplayer compatible and a lot just suck imo. Optional, but meaningful, like nether fortresses with blaze rods, nether wart, and wither skulls for beacons.
They want to add exploration, yet there's an entire dimension that has had 1 biome for 10+ years, hasn't been updated for 8 and is part of the games progression. We got the nether and cave updates we needed, make the end worth exploring!
I definitely think it's a good idea too! But if you look at some of the other comments, other people don't love the idea. That's totally cool! Minecraft has a lot of players of all different playing styles.
I think an end update or a combat update could be beneficial to Minecraft's progression, For instance making the stone axe(with sharp 5) not be as strong as the Netherite sword
Combat can definitely be improved, I personally would love to see spears added and maybe some more features for fighting. And I agree with you, sharpness should be balanced more 😂
My family always told me that you shouldn't complain about something unless you offer a solution. And you my friend have nailed it perfectly. I don't agree with all your ideas but your mindset is 100% in the right direction
Thanks! Yeah I definitely don't want to make videos just on complaining so I tried my best to suggest what I believe is a possible solution... At least for my playing style
The Minecraft "community" is one of the most abused in the gaming community, if compared to any other game developers they are the laziest of them all by far, this they/them devs make one mob every 12 years (which BTW is made of 3 boxes and 2 basic animations) and this abused low expectation "community" will clap like seals, this game survives thanks to the talented people that make mods, shaders, resource packs, etc, expect nothing from mojang, they will fix nothing, they are making tons of money doing nothing, so why change?
That's a really good idea actually! If they do that though they would have to add some sort of difference... Netherite does have less knockback but it would have to be more than that to actually feel like there's a functional choice rather than just a cosmetic choice. Maybe each set could give buffs for a certain weapon type similar to Terraria? I'm not sure but I love the idea!
"within the first ten minutes of making a world... ...you're basically ready to go to the nether" within the first ten minutes i'm mining copper that i tell myself i'll make a house out of and never actually do 😭 Either way, I think the eyes idea was really cool, but possibly could be done a bit differently. For example, you could keep the eyes themselves the same but make it so you need something along the lines of an 'Ender Core' or something like that, crafted from key items from certain structures - for example, there could be stuff like the Heavy Core, an Echo Shard, a Heart of the Sea, a Totem of Undying, possibly even something like a new Pottery Sherd with an eye on it, and maybe even the amazing spong - all crafted together with an Eye of Ender. Basically how I would conceptualize it is: 1. You get the 12 Eyes of Ender to find the Stronghold (imo just remove the shatter gimmick, it overall sucks) 2. Upon arrival, you place them in the frames, and instead of the classic portal opening, a sort of black hole opens. 3. After collecting the materials to craft the Ender Core, you throw it in to the 'hole' of sorts, and the portal to The End opens up.
Just wanted to say that i really liked the video, the quality is actually very good. I Hope you get more subscribers as you deserve for the good content. While watching the video i made a list about some of the topics discusseds, this doesnt mean that they are wrong, im just here to give a little different perspective on some moments of the video: 1 - 1:36 - I garantee mostly people dont even have iron at 10 minutes, imagine going to the nether. 2 - 2:40 (3:35 too, 3:50, 6:35 too) - They have "No Purpose" because they're not supposed to, not everything needs to have a purpose. Mojang in adding features to complement the game, and it's alright that they do that, this make the game more alive and give many other tasks for the player other than evolving in the progression. 3 - 2:56 (3:25) - There are reasons to explore. Pretty much every structure has one. Mansions have totems, Ancient City have Swift Sneak, Villages have villagers, End Citys have Elytras, etc. Even with that, many people dont even care about the loot, they just want the feeling of discovering a new place. 4 - 3:10 - Trims are understandable because they're just cosmetic, but swift sneak not, it just makes building 200% easier as most of the time you are sneaking to not fall on danger edges. The Recovering compass dependes alot of how you play, if you die alot then it's interesting to keep one at your base just in case. 5 - 5:24 - We dont have a problem if the speedrun is short, speedrunning is speedrunning, beating the game in 7 minutes doesnt mean the game is short, i would say that mostly people dont even dare to get to the End in the first place.
Well you see, the reason why Updates now a days aren't like before, is because people were complaining about the Wild Update, and how that update wasn't wild enough like people in this community wanted. Plus with the amount of issues with expectations of people waiting for promised Caves and Cliffs features, then you can kinda see why Mojang is doing updates like 1.21 and 1.20. Because Mojang doesn't want you guys to be disappointed or upset when it came down to promised features in new updates. Like for example, Caves and Cliffs features. In fact if you don't believe me, then you guys can go all the way back to 1.20 Minecraft Live if you guys don't understand why we aren't getting more updates like Caves and Cliffs anymore. Edit: Also i think people need to realize something. Yes progression might be a small reason why people play Minecraft, but progression is not the sole reason why the majority of people play Minecraft. In fact, lets bring up a certain RUclips series that people watch on a daily basis. And that is Hermit craft. Now tell me, why do people constantly watch Hermit Craft seasons? Is it for progression? Well, no. Mainly because progression for the Hermits is not the reason they play Minecraft or Hermit craft.Yes they might go through the progression of Minecraft rather quickly, but thats mainly because the Hermits want to get certain stuff they need in order for builds and other projects to be easier. And also because they want to have fun with the other hermits on the server. In fact, lets expand this further to the Ender Dragon. People might go to fight the Dragon because its the finale boss of the game. But for the Hermits, it mainly just a side thing just to get Elytra and other stuff from the End just for Minecraft projects or for other factors. In fact when i was playing Minecraft Xbox 360, I didn't even go to the End Dimension. I only went there to fight the Dragon until mid 2015. And even then, after i was done fighting the dragon, i just went back to the over world just to continue on my already on going Minecraft projects at the time. To me, Minecraft standard Progression was just nothing. It was just something that I could do, but decided to make my own path and make my own goals. Because Minecraft is what you make of it.
I do think Tricky Trials has been a great update but I do agree with your points on progression. The game certainly is getting easier and new assets are being added like the Mace but there’s no content that are designed around this OP weapon. I think, we need some more content for after defeating the ender dragon and the wither. We need some new place to explore that has more challenging gameplay than the nether and end. I don’t think we should make the game as it is harder like by making it so the end portal requires 12 different eyes, that seems too complex for a system that has been a staple for over a decade. The game is in a good place but I would like to see the next update add new content for OP items like the Mace and Elytra
Although i think the different ender eyes is a good idea (mayabe with different endermen) i dont think they should be in every structure, i feel like i personaly preffer many structures as a side quest, even tho they should have loot (unlike woodland mansions, seriously 10.000 blocks for nothing? Who had this idea?) its better to think of them as things you can do, and not should do, minecraft is a sandbox after all, also since i talked about woodland mansions, imagine having to walk 10.000-60.000 blocks for a singular eye of ender, and the final thing i wanna say is about what you said of the ancient city, many people forget that the ancient city is not a lategame challenge as the warden still kills you with two hits on netherite, so you can just find one and go in because the actual goal of the structure is to avoid combat, so just some wools should be good, also there are other enchantments in the ancient city, but i do think villagers should give you an ancient map, that would be fire
Just watched Minecraft live, after a year they added 1 mob, and 1 new wood type….. At this point there just monkeys with typewriters, I say they sell the game to someone who can actually add updates.
"Enderite" would be really cool but what other thing would it give to a player? diamond armour already gives you the full bar and netherite gives you additinal fire resistance and fire protection
The 1.21 update is way better than 1.20 and 1.19 We are getting a new structure, an auto-crafter, a new weapon, wolf armor, new potions, and more. This is way better than the updates we've been getting, and it just seems like you're trying to make 1.21 look like a small update. And structures do have purpose. For example, the ancient city has enchanted golden apples, the shift-sneak for building, and more. Like you said, the ancient city is hard, and you're complaining about Minecraft being easy. You could say the same thing about the Nether update, which you said was good. You don't need to go into a Piglin Bastion, but you'll get very good loot, just like with the ancient city. Plus, Piglins made it easier to get ender pearls.
I'm gonna be honest here, I wrote and recorded the "underwhelming" part of the script before I fully understood this update 😂. It's actually a pretty cool update!
Minecraft is a sandbox game for sure! But I believe that Mojang can add more exploration options to the game like maces and armor trims. The recent updates (with the exception of the mace and armor trims) have lacked a bit in exploration. I totally agree that the game should not have a solid story or even ending. But I do believe that there should be more reasons to go on adventures, such as obtaining the mace.
My brother in christ, minecraft is a SANDBOX game not a survival game. Do you realize that there are people who just play casually and NOT just speedrun or pvp or whatever? Most of the players never even defeated the ender dragon or entered the end dimension at all. From what i remember same applied to the nether.
You're right, it is just a sandbox game. And there are many players who would find what I suggested in the video to be a bad addition to the game. With that said though, I would really like to see more exploration options. For example, the mace and armor trims have done this really well! They can only be found in specific structures scattered throughout the world. I'm arguing we need more features like the mace and armor trims in Minecraft. The one thing we don't want though, is an overcrowded game which I understand is at risk when adding exploration features. Nonetheless, I still think that more exploration features should be added.
I suggested it for the reason @burgr2 stated, it would give a reason to explore. But it would also take away from the originality of the game so honestly, this feature suggestion should be taken with a grain of salt
People say Minecraft has become easy and short, forgot that Minecraft is a sandbox game to begin with. The length of Minecraft gameplay is how much you spend in your world. Beating the end is not the main objective and can take it as long as you want, heck you can just ignore it completely. When I play Minecraft I always take my time and enjoy the world not rush, always set my own objective not the game. Even I beat the ender dragon, I still keep playing.
Yep, you're right! I'm arguing that Minecraft needs more reasons to explore. These features don't need to be required to progress, but it would be nice to have more reasons to explore the world beyond building blocks and the items we have now. For example, the mace and armor trims are perfect examples of what I would love to see more of. These items are exclusive to a certain structure/place which is awesome for exploration players like me.
@@EmperorPenguin1217No reason why it can’t, but a lot of people seem to be upset that there aren’t enough RPG features. It’s nice if they’re there and you enjoy them, but I like the sandbox aspects of Minecraft more and so I can’t agree with the argument that it doesn’t hurt to add them, since development time spent on RPG elements would take away from development time spent on the sandbox elements.
Okay first off, who in their right mind has said 1.21 is underwhelming? I haven't seen a single youtuber or person I know say the update was underwhelming or bad. You're making up solutions to problems that don't exist, and you're making ideas based on how you think the game should be played. Minecraft isn't an RPG, It's a sandbox game, the whole purpose is to let you do whatever you want in whatever order you want. Stop thinking you speak for the whole community, because you don't. The entire game is so much more than just "Get to the nether, beat the dragon, and that's it". Minecraft's progression is perfectly fine as it is because progression is not the point of the game. Also, keep in mind that the vast majority of casual players don't even fight the ender dragon in the majority of worlds. Casual players don't care about progression because that's not why they play the game. And the enderite Idea? No thanks. Netherite is already ridiculously strong on its own, we don't need any stronger armour. Also the idea for different eyes based on structures would be a pain to a lot of players considering most of those structured are in rare places, especially the ones like the jungle temple, ocean monument and woodland mansion. I'm not travelling 30,000 blocks just to get some eye.
You're right, I shouldn't have said that "WE can all agree that it's underwhelming", because quite honestly, I recorded that part of the script before I knew how cool the update actually was. It's actually a pretty sick update! However, Minecraft is still faced with an exploration problem, problems that do exist. People like Jetstarfish have advocated this point in almost every video. While the suggestions I offered in the video would appeal to players like me, there are still many players that would not like to see it in the game. Like you said, some people just want to play the game as a sandbox. However, I do believe that Minecraft can add more features that give the player the option to explore. After all, they've done it before. The mace and armor trims and exactly what I'm supporting! They are items that aren't needed to play but are still important enough for players to still strive to get them. I'm arguing that Minecraft needs to have more exploration options for players like me without compromising the sandbox game we all know and love.
Giving an "end" to the game was a mistake. The video is bad because you dont get Minecraft, many ideas you suggested are terrible for the type of game Minecraft is. Just to give you an example, you said netherite was a new step towards progression... well, you dont need netherite to access the End or Elytras, you dont need netherite as you dont need to go to an Ancient City to beat the game. The problem here is thinking that the game is about beating the Dragon and getting Elytras, Minecraft isn't a game about progression, Minecraft is a game about doing whatever you want, EVERYTHING is optional, the game isnt about rushing to the End. With that being said, I do believe Minecraft could have more progression but not in terms of making the travel to the End longer or harder, but to give more and better tools to build, to explore, to mine, to travel and adding more places that challenge the those endgame tool, items and armor. I believe everyone plays Minecraft in a different way and everyone can suggest ideas for the game, but I also think that it's important to know what kind of game you are playing in the first place.
I have to agree. I take back what I said on lengthening the time from the start to the end, but I do believe me need more incentive to explore by giving items more value. That only comes through items that are harder to obtain which is what progression brings. (My full thoughts are on my reply on the pinned comment)
People have been saying "X has been preparing for future update" for years. They've been adding mostly bare minimum unfleshed out content for years and we haven't gotten much payoff yet.
Agreed! I actually recorded the "underwhelming" part of the script before I fully understood just how cool the new trial chambers actually are. With that said though, I still believe updates could do a better job at adding exploration.
i dont like the new minecraft it sucks and its so freaking hard bro thank god we can play old minecraft version i stick with 1.7.2 and 1.12.2 they are the best
I like how this video stands out from the rest of videos speaking on this topic. Many creators complain about the game's updates but they don't suggest some better ideas. I also agree with your stance on progression. I've been playing the game since I was really young and it seems like these days I know so much about the game that it makes the progression seem so linear and easy. Having to go around the world and explore in order to get the ender eyes is a nice touch too. I've played a mod similar to that and I really enjoyed it.
The game really has stayed the same as far as progression goes, and thank you for the compliment! It's actually kind of crazy how many End related mods there are out there, it shows me just how much people want an End update.
@@All_About_Random Whenever I think about Mojang adding an end update I always feel conflicted. One one hand mods like BetterEnd add life and vibrance to the end, but on the other hand I feel like the end is meant to be a sort of barren place. I'm just not sure how they would implement an end update without making it to similar to the nether update and other end minecraft mods.
1.21 is 1.21 IS THE WORST UPDATE EVER 1.9 IS BETTER 1.21 sucks because Minecraft is becoming complicated 1.7 - 1.11 were the best versions Maybe even 1.13
Great another person who thinks Minecraft is all about progession🙄. This video was so hard to watch just play terraria. 1. 1.21 is NOT underwhelming it’s a very good update made for YOUR playstyle if you don’t like the update you don’t even deserve to play the game 2. No Minecraft’s updates are not getting worse 3. Minecraft is NOT a progression game people play minecarft for its exploration and building 4. Minecraft is not meant to be hard 5. Just cause something does not help you beat the ender dragon doesn’t mean it’s “useless” 6. Sculk which gives XP? Echo shards that help red stone? There are so many reasons to go there. 7. Swift sneak makes building SO much easier, the recovery compass is good in case you die and armour trims look cool. 8. Just cause a SANDBOX game doesn’t focus on progression doenst mean the updates are bad. 9. The goal of a Minecraft update is too keep the game from being anything BUT a progression focused game. 10. OMG STOP TALKING LIKE YOU SPEAK FOR EVERY MINECRAFT PLAYER. 11. Yes the nether update is good. 12. You say that progression hasn’t been updated since 1.0 and then now you say it was updated in 1.16? 13. Forcing players to do things is a stupid idea and is what makes the ender dragon fight annoying for player who just want the elytra. 14. Minecraft does NOT need to be longer hell there isn’t even an ending to Minecraft 15. This would make finding the end even more annoying then it already is 16. People already find echo shards ever heard of red stone? 17. Minecraft is NOT about progression and the updates are fine. 18. Most of the community says that there is no need for progression Just go play terraria. Minecraft is not a progression based game and adding this would ruin the game so stop and play another game if Minecraft just isn’t for you.
Okay, so basically I'm getting that your not a story focused player, and that's totally cool! Firstly, I am suggesting an update that I would like to see in the game, you can disagree but being respectful about it would be great. It's also worth noting that maybe Minecraft could add a separate gamemode called something along the lines of "story" which could have features solely focused on exploration and story. I would like to point out that though I may have come across as speaking for all of the Minecraft community, I definitely represent a good portion of the community with my suggested update, just look at some of the other comments and even other RUclipsrs such as Jetstarfish. You also represent a good portion of the community, Mumbo Jumbo made a video expressing your same concerns. I'm really voicing my opinion on how Minecraft has been improving building and creativity so much recently in their updates (which something building players really enjoy) but have seemed to almost neglect progression... The game does not have to be a story game, but there should at least be features that give the player the opportunity to explore. The only real reason to explore right now is to get different blocks, again, a building focused reason. One last thing, to answer your #12 response, I said "the game PRETTY much hasn't changed since 1.0". Regardless, only one new progression feature has been added since 1.0... Thanks for watching my video dude!
@@All_About_Random well most of the players are builders so why shouldn’t they add stuff to do with building As a person who explores first and builds second there are many reasons to explore. If you truly want progression play terraria.
@Elistic4443d I do love Terraria, but there's a problem with it I don't like, there's almost too much stuff. In Minecraft, as far as exploration goes, really all there is to get are armor trims (when it comes to structures). Sure, there may be small things here or there, but we need more things like the trial chambers where the only place to get the mace is at that structure. Also, I'm not saying they shouldn't add building blocks, in fact, they have excelled at adding more building blocks recently and I love it! I'm arguing that Minecraft needs more exploration, more options for exploration players.
1. 1.21 isn't bad but it's underwhelming. It was not worth waiting an entire year for. 2. They steadily have been with 1.21 being mildly better. 1.17-20 added tons of poorly thought out and useless stuff. 3. Why can't exploration and building also coexist with progression? Progression is literally built into the game. 4. Hard difficulty? Ancient cities which are intended to be hard (And failed)? Ominous trials? Nether templates being in a very dangerous place? The nether being generally harder and more dangerous? 5. No, they're useless because they either don't have a use or have a use that absolutely sucks/is easily replaced by something else. 6. Sculk is terribly inefficient for XP, Echo shards have nothing to do with redstone and their entire existence is redundant. The only arguably good thing there are the sensors and those don't even require the chests. 7. Swift sneak which isn't worth getting because you already are capable of moving quickly while shifting, recovery compasses are useless because the people who go out of their way to get them aren't dying often and don't even work in hardcore, and armor trims are useless and needlessly expensive. 9. Several updates have had drastic effects on progression though, and that's why most of them were really liked. 13. The elytra has every reason to be locked behind several hoops you have to jump through, it's objectively broken and renders every other transport useless. 14. No ending? The end poem and the credits? 17. Is it ABOUT progression? No. Is progression a big portion of the game? Yes. 18. Source?
@@EmperorPenguin1217 1. 1.21 is not underwhelming just cause it’s not nether update level doenst mean it’s underwhelming. 2. So the mace is useless trial chambers are useless? Many players would disagree. 3. Because Minecraft isn’t a progression game and no there is no progression in the game. 4. Ancient cities are meant to be like a stealth mission, ominous trials are optional and not everyone struggles with bastions. 5. No they don’t absolutely suck just cause they don’t upgrade your sword doesn’t mean it’s useless. 6. Sculk is good for xp, my mistake it’s not echo shards it’s SCULK. 7 swift sneak is VERY useful for builders I don’t think you build because it’s very slow to crouch while building, the idea that people who go to the ancient city to get the recovery compass are good at the game is wrong it’s very easy to loot it if you have wool even you say it’s not difficult and many good players have died before and armour trims make your armour look good and nice. 9. No updates like update aquatic, the nether update and caves and cliffs weren’t about progression(the nether update was mostly to do with exploration) and stop acting like you represent every player. 13. I would agree with that 14. The end poem literally says your journey is not over🤣. 17. No the big portion of the game is building. 18. There’s a reason why mojang hasn’t updated the game to fit combat players for years till now.
The thing is if a sandbox game let's me do anything I want why shouldn't it gives me a reason to want to explore and build something new there if you don't like the update mojang won't force you to play wouldn't you like to feel the need or want to build an oasis in the dessert or something like that?
@@dogwaterdemon418 the point of the exploration in Minecraft id finding cool new blocks for your buildings and to take inspiration in the ones you found like the desert and jungle temples, the pillager outpost or the villages. The exploration does not reward the player with tons of loot or armor (only the end cities have this type of stuff, because is the end game, you already deffeated the boss) if we only add more loot, and more structures, and more armor and weapon tiers, Minecraft will be the same as it is now, but with less space to build and more sh1t to do in a youtube serie before starting building
@@Sho0t-w651 yeah I can at least agree we don't need to add a million new items I just think a few new mechanics for some biome would or even just food would be a nice push in the right direction there's no real reason to be in place like desserts other wise
new content in minecraft is ruining the game. the game was perfect in 1.14 (because before that, we had the ugly netherrack texture so that's why i'm choosing 1.14 as the 'perfect update'. with all this new content coming out, sure we have more to do, but at the same time it makes the game more confusing. before, the instructions were clear: survive, get good gear, go to the nether to craft the eyes of ender to then find the end portal, kill the dragon and perhaps do some achievements. but now minecraft doesn't feel like a simple survival game anymore, and it's starting to feel like 3D terraria, with so many surnatural things, like the warden for example. it's kind of comparable to fortnite. fortnite was perfect at around season 7, but as they grew more popular, they wanted their players to stay in the community, and they did that by adding more and more content, which made the game worse, because being good at fortnite didn't mean to have better aim and building, but rather just knowing the game better than others, so that being more active in the game results in better 'skill', which draws more players to the game. But the problem with that is that the base of the game becomes unclear. games such as rocket league, which its mechanics haven't changed since somewhere around 2017. that allows rocket league players to push the boudaries of these mechanics, and finally reach a skill ceiling, which makes getting better at the game, more fun, since it doesn't involve knowing the game better than others. sorry for the long rant, ive been playing minecraft since somewhere around 1.7, so i've been holding these thoughts in for a long time lmao
Yeah I definitely agree to a certain extent. Side note, I totally agree that Fortnite was so much better back in the early days. It receives a lot of criticism for some reason but I really do try to tell people that it was a much better game back in the day. Anyways, Minecraft is starting to face a problem: There are too many players! There are people who agree with you and say that the game is becoming too confusing. There are people who say that 1.8.9 was the best. There are people who think that they should just add a ton of stuff in each update. With such a large audience it's virtually impossible to please all of them. I plan on actually making a video on this topic because Mojang receives a lot of criticism for their updates when really I think if they pumped out more features, the game would feel WAY too crowded (like Fortnite or Clash Royale). In fact, while I would like to see what I suggested in this video, I still have my concerns... Not for myself and my circle of friends because we would all love to see it, but for the community as a whole. There would be people who would not like to see what I suggested one bit. They would probably consider it as taking away from the originality of the game which I completely understand. This is why I think modding should be considered more. Modding is perfect for people who want to add these features because it's not permanent. One thing I think people don't realize is that once Mojang adds something, they aren't going to take it out (unless absolutely needed). So in conclusion, Mojang is actually not doing bad considering that they aren't disappointing the overall community. I think right now the adventure players have a very loud voice in the media because Mojang has significantly lacked adventure features recently. But honestly, we would have a HUGE problem if Minecraft became to crowded vs. just not having features we want... I would rather have a simple, enjoyable game than a potentially crowded game.
@@All_About_Random i completely agree with you. The problem is that mojang is probably hungry for money, and so they'll do everything to get more people to play their game. I miss the old days where companies felt like they did things to please the users, not to attract more people to the product. But yeah, I think I like your suggestion a lot, because this is exactly what I've felt like when playing the newer versions.
Tbh I don't really care about Mojang updates anymore. Most of the stuff they add already exists with mods which is a way better way to play Minecraft anyway.
First off and most importantly, I would like to thank you for your respectfulness, there are many people who disagree with me but can be quite disrespectful so thank you! This much is pretty clear, everybody plays Minecraft differently. I would love to see what I suggested, but others would see it as almost ruining the game. The tricky part for Mojang is trying to make updates that appease every player. With that said, I would still love to see more reasons to explore. For example, the mace! The mace is great as you can only obtain it in trial chambers. And my favorite, armor trims! Armor trims can only be obtained from certain structures/places. I would love to see more of this as it isn't needed to progress (because some players just want to build) but still gives an option for players who want to explore like me.
Thank you
Well it isn't easy to make an update that caters to everyone
That different ender eye idea sounds SO GOOD I wish we had that in mc
A solution to these problems is playing terraria
The Minecraft "community" is one of the most abused in the gaming community, if compared to any other game developers they are the laziest of them all by far, this they/them devs make one mob every 12 years (which BTW is made of 3 boxes and 2 basic animations) and this abused low expectation "community" will clap like seals, this game survives thanks to the talented people that make mods, shaders, resource packs, etc, expect nothing from mojang, they will fix nothing, they are making tons of money doing nothing, so why change?

Great idea with enderite but I think it would be better as seperate to netherite forcing the players to choose between them
That's a really good idea actually!
Honestly I think you handled it really well. And I do heavily respect Mojang for dealing with such a large audience.
"within the first ten minutes of making a world... ...you're basically ready to go to the nether"
within the first ten minutes i'm mining copper that i tell myself i'll make a house out of and never actually do 😭
Either way, I think the eyes idea was really cool, but possibly could be done a bit differently.
Basically how I would conceptualize it is:
1. You get the 12 Eyes of Ender to find the Stronghold (imo just remove the shatter gimmick, it overall sucks)
2. Upon arrival, you place them in the frames, and instead of the classic portal opening, a sort of black hole opens.
3. After collecting the materials to craft the Ender Core, you throw it in to the 'hole' of sorts, and the portal to The End opens up.
That is actually a great idea!

It would be cool to see us teleport through the portal in the deep dark caves and see where the sculk came from
"Enderite" would be really cool but what other thing would it give to a player? diamond armour already gives you the full bar and netherite gives you additinal fire resistance and fire protection

SAME BRO THESE UPDATES SUCK. THEY SHOULD ADD A TOE LICKING UPDATE 👅👅👅
"minecraft is a SANDBOX game not a survival game"
There is an entire Survival mode. And they're not mutually exclusive
ah yes, i suppose you talk about the bedrock achievments, most players activate cheats or play with mods which doesnt let you get those achievments
12 eyes? someones been playing modded mc.
But, it would make it harder and add a reason to explore your Minecraft world
I suggested it for the reason @burgr2 stated, it would give a reason to explore. But it would also take away from the originality of the game so honestly, this feature suggestion should be taken with a grain of salt
@@All_About_Random Not complaining, just an observation.
OMG, Minecraft is a sandbox game, not a RPG game
Why can't a sandbox have RPG elements? They're not mutually exclusive.
It's not just a sandbox game though, and if it was? Why add the ender dragon?
(My full thoughts are on my reply on the pinned comment)
you forgot 1.21 supposed to prepare for the next update
People have been saying "X has been preparing for future update" for years. They've been adding mostly bare minimum unfleshed out content for years and we haven't gotten much payoff yet.

To answer, no
I like how this video stands out from the rest of videos speaking on this topic.
6. Sculk which gives XP? Echo shards that help red stone? There are so many reasons to go there.
7. Swift sneak makes building SO much easier, the recovery compass is good in case you die and armour trims look cool.

@@All_About_Random well most of the players are builders so why shouldn’t they add stuff to do with building

13. I would agree with that
14. The end poem literally says your journey is not over🤣.
17. No the big portion of the game is building.
18. There’s a reason why mojang hasn’t updated the game to fit combat players for years till now.
yeah i guess
Congratulations, your the first comment!
Stop complaining about progresion and GO PLAY TERRARIA, Minecraft is a sandbox, not an RPG
Minecraft is a sandbox game not a survival game.
Tbh I don't really care about Mojang updates anymore. Most of the stuff they add already exists with mods which is a way better way to play Minecraft anyway.
That's true, I definitely want to play more modded Minecraft for that reason.
Just wanted to say that i really liked the video, the quality is actually very good. I Hope you get more subscribers as you deserve for the good content.
While watching the video i made a list about some of the topics discusseds, this doesnt mean that they are wrong, im just here to give a little different perspective on some moments of the video:
1 - 1:36 - I garantee mostly people dont even have iron at 10 minutes, imagine going to the nether.
